Chapter 1073 409: Unparalleled
Chapter 1073 409: Unparalleled
In the highest tower of the Jade Royal Court, Li Xiu sat quietly against the wall, silently waiting for something.
His body seemed to flicker intermittently, as if a bug from an ancient game had appeared, his form occasionally disappearing for a moment, then instantly reappearing.
Li Xiu was nearly unable to suppress his transformation, poised on the brink of ascending to Unparalleled.
Jiang Lanling stood nearby, gazing at Li Xiu with a complex expression. Li Xiu had already informed her that he intended to have his final battle with Li Boyang here and that she could leave, but she chose to stay.
Looking at Li Xiu now, Jiang Lanling felt a bit of trepidation. Such a transformation was nearly impossible for humans, let alone magical spirits.
The signs of Li Xiu's impending rise were evident, the energy emanating from his body already filling her with terror.
Yet, Li Xiu continued to restrain his energy, seemingly unwilling to ascend to Unparalleled just yet.
"You can still leave now," Li Xiu said quietly, his eyes lowered.
"I want to witness this battle with my own eyes." Jiang Lanling did not bother to explain, her gaze firm as iron.
"Very well." Li Xiu spoke lightly, no longer suppressing his energy, though in truth, he could suppress it no longer.
Boom!
A bloody, red aura burst forth from Li Xiu, rising skyward and transforming into a blood-colored curtain, instantly dyeing heaven and earth crimson.
The Jade Royal Court transformed further into a Blood Court, with everything soaked in blood hues.
The color was not merely surface-level; even if the entire castle were split open, the inside would remain blood-red.
Jiang Lanling felt fear gripped her heart, instinctively wanting to retreat. Yet her body refused to obey, moving toward Li Xiu despite her wish to flee.
Panic washed over Jiang Lanling as she attempted to summon the Jade Light. What terrified her even more was that the Light Energy within her seemed to vanish, unable to respond no matter how she called. At that moment, she felt she had become a mortal who had never cultivated.
"Is this the power of Unparalleled?" Jiang Lanling's fear had reached its peak, as Li Xiu's strength surpassed all her understanding.
A creaking sound interrupted Jiang Lanling's thoughts as the grand doors of the Blood Court were pushed open, and a figure slowly entered.
"Li Boyang." Jiang Lanling knew Li Boyang would come, yet seeing him in person, she couldn't help but grind her teeth, her expression complex and unreadable.
Rhythmic footsteps echoed as the frail-looking old Li Boyang ascended the tower, coming face to face with Li Xiu and Jiang Lanling.
"Princess Lan, you shouldn't be here." Li Boyang glanced at Jiang Lanling, speaking blandly.
"I want to watch you die," Jiang Lanling hissed, teeth clenched.
Li Boyang said nothing further nor did he spare Jiang Lanling another glance, his gaze settled on Li Xiu as he remarked with a smile, "You progressed faster than I expected. If you had stayed away from the Land of Trial, you could've enjoyed a few more days. Unfortunately, you're too stubborn, killing too many magical spirits."
"Sooner or later it would have been the same, makes no difference," Li Xiu replied, still sitting against the wall with no intention of standing, simply looking at Li Boyang. "Today, is it true that only one of us will survive?"
"It's not that only one of us can survive, but rather only I will," Li Boyang squinted, answering.
Li Xiu smiled slightly, "If that's the case, can you answer a question for me?"
"You always have many questions, some quite irritating," Li Boyang shifts the topic, saying, "But today is special, I'll grant you this wish."
"Who is Tang Tianzhen?" Li Xiu inquired calmly, unperturbed by Li Boyang's remarks.
Li Boyang seemed to have anticipated Li Xiu's question, replying with a smile, "You guessed right. Because of his existence, I can keep track of Han Ling'Er's whereabouts."
"That's not my question. I'm asking you, what kind of person he is?" Li Xiu asked calmly.
Li Boyang's previous words Li Xiu had already partially guessed.
"To you all, he should be regarded as a Creator God." Li Boyang's answer made Li Xiu frown slightly.
"Creator God?" Li Xiu found the answer unsatisfying.
"I know it's unbelievable, that a world could be created by a single being. If it was the true world, certainly not, but this world is too primitive," Li Boyang said slowly, "Think about the name Tang Tianzhen backwards."
"Tang Tianzhen… True Heaven Tang... True Paradise..." Li Xiu murmured.
"Indeed, he wants to mold this world into a true paradise, but alas, I arrived," Li Boyang smiled.
"Is he from your world?" Li Xiu sighed.
"Only half," Li Boyang's response left ambiguity.
"Why only half?" Li Xiu's Light Energy still flickered, alongside the blood hue, red and blue Light Energy continuously overflowing.
"This question is complex, hard to explain fully. You might understand it as he and I stemming from the same place," Li Boyang seemingly unwilling to elaborate.
Li Xiu slowly stood, his Light Energy igniting with his movements, unable to be contained as red and blue intertwined, fusing into a purple light, seeming to cloak him in radiant film.
