When Earth Awakened, I Became a Sword Saintess

Chapter 73 : Night in the Dorm Room

Chapter 73 : Night in the Dorm Room

73: Night in the Dorm Room

Of course, Yuyin knew this was probably just a normal hug between close female friends, like best friends or sisters. Girls liked to be affectionate with each other; there was no need to overthink it. But even if she told herself not to, it was impossible to completely ignore the sensations of her body…

Little Yuan’s embrace had been truly innocent, but for some reason, due to their difference in height, her small face had inadvertently drawn close to Yuyin’s chest. If Yuyin hadn’t sensitively kept a slight distance, they would have bumped. The air of a mature woman that Yuyin possessed, an air she herself lacked, stirred a strange flutter in Little Yuan’s heart for a moment.

"Sister Yuyin, you smell so good… Is this what a woman’s charm smells like…"

That night, Little Yuan and Yuyin unpacked their luggage, sorting various clothes and feminine supplies into their respective cabinets. The sound of running water came from the bathroom.

Little Yuan sat dazedly on the edge of her own bed. She and Yuyin had separate beds. Yuyin was easygoing about it, but Little Yuan had insisted that the lady Sister take the bed by the window.

At that moment, Yuyin was taking a shower.

"Why? Why are these strange thoughts running through my head? I feel like this place is a hotel, and in a moment, Sister Yuyin will come out wrapped in a towel…"

Little Yuan shook her head as if to clear it. "So, what if she does? Isn’t that perfectly normal? Just two girls sharing a dorm room."

Little Yuan had lived with her grandfather since she was a child. She was also petite, and perhaps because of this, she had always admired tall, beautiful, and mature older sisters. Although people called her cute, she felt that a woman like Sister Yuyin was a truly perfect girl, the embodiment of genuine feminine charm.

The door opened.

Yuyin’s long, dazzling legs were wrapped in a pure white towel that was a bit too short for them. Her wet hair was casually draped to one side, and she walked out, carrying a faint, enchanting fragrance that seemed to mesmerize the entire room.

Those pale, white feet… Little Yuan took one glance and quickly turned her head away, embarrassed.

As for feeling embarrassed, Yuyin felt the same. But she tried to act natural; after all, if it were an ordinary girl, she wouldn’t feel any sense of shame in front of other girls after a shower, right? But the more she minded it, the more sensitive her body became to the feeling of shame…

Yuyin sat on the edge of her bed, her legs pressed together and her body slightly turned, and began to comb her beautiful hair.

"Aren’t you going to wash?" Yuyin asked.

"Huh? I… I’ll wait a bit…" Little Yuan did not have the courage to enter the bathroom right after someone as mature and beautiful as Sister Yuyin had just used it.

She walked to the window with slightly awkward steps.

There was a moon shadow on Yuehu Lake, its surface shimmering with silver light. Between the mountain shadows, the enormous forms of some Demon Spirits could be seen faintly swimming about…

Captivated by the magical, beautiful night scene, the light from the lamp shone on the glass, reflecting Little Yuan’s clear eyes.

"Sister Yuyin, do you think… this scenery will one day exist only in our memories?"

Yuyin’s slender fingers paused as they stroked through her hair. She remembered what Dean Tong had said that evening.

"I don’t know…" Yuyin shook her head silently.

"When I was very little, my grandfather told me that my parents are fighting over there, that they’ve always been…" Little Yuan stared at a large, pale golden fish with a dragon-like tail and fins as big as a bird’s wings. It leaped from the depths of Yuehu Lake, swayed its great tail, and disappeared into the mountain forest.

"That place is called the Prison Abyss." Little Yuan said, her eyes as still as if frozen.

"The Prison Abyss?" Yuyin’s hand fell unconsciously. It was the first time she had heard this term.

"Through the Two Realms Gate is the Prison Abyss," Little Yuan said. "My parents are fighting in the Prison Abyss. I have never seen them since I can remember…"

Yuyin looked at Little Yuan’s small figure against the vast backdrop of the night and couldn’t help but feel a surge of pity.

"I grew up in a sect, so I’ve known about these things for a long time. Sister Yuyin, you’re a Source Martial Practitioner now, so you’ll find out sooner or later. That’s why I’m telling you; it doesn’t violate my grandfather’s instructions." Little Yuan turned to Yuyin and said.

"Little Yuan, what exactly is the Prison Abyss like?"

"It’s the place where the things Dean Tong called ‘The Other Side,’ where these Night Spirits we see every night, have their true forms. But in recent years, more and more Two Realms Gates have appeared all over the world. From there, we can enter the Prison Abyss, and at the same time, the true forms of the things inside the Prison Abyss can also come out." Little Yuan looked at Yuyin.

"And after they come out, do they gradually turn into Spirits?" Yuyin was a little confused.

Little Yuan shook her head. "No, once their true forms come out, they don’t change until they are destroyed. As for those Spirits, I’m not entirely sure, but I’ve never heard of them turning into true forms. Spirits seem to be able to appear from anywhere and disappear for no reason, more often at night or when it’s gloomy… The appearance and disappearance of Spirits doesn’t seem to be related to the Two Realms Gates."

In other words, there was no need to worry about the Spirits for now. They wouldn’t turn into their true forms. For the time being, aside from the Ghost King’s methods, the other wandering Night Spirits seemed to have no substantial impact on this world. Could this just be a sign?

Yuyin couldn’t help but look out the window. The real danger was the Prison Abyss, whose location was unknown. Yuyin felt that the strong humans and armies should, at least from an external perspective, be able to hold their ground for now. But as for herself, she only had two and a half years left.

The Ghost King, the Prison Abyss?

It was hard for Yuyin not to connect those two names!

"Little Yuan, what else do you know about the Prison Abyss?"

"I don’t know much… My grandfather only said that it’s a place so dangerous it’s beyond description…" Little Yuan looked at the large floor-to-ceiling window as if she were facing the pitch-black world. "Sister Yuyin, do you think… the things in the Prison Abyss will one day come here?"

Yuyin noticed that Little Yuan’s delicate, slender body was trembling a bit. Perhaps the threat Yuyin herself faced was far greater than what Little Yuan faced, but she still got up and placed both hands on her frail shoulders from behind.

"I don’t know. But if that day really comes, we’ll think of a way to deal with them together."

Yuyin’s strength and her incredibly gentle womanly charm seemed to reassure Little Yuan a little. However, Yuyin was inexperienced and accidentally pressed her ample chest against the top of Little Yuan’s head…

This gave Little Yuan a complex feeling of inferiority, yet with a hint of joy. But it truly felt safe.

Little Yuan couldn’t help but gaze at the even deeper shadows of the western mountains. Outside, it was truly dangerous.

Late at night, the wind blew and rain fell, the curtains fluttered, and the rain slanted into the room.

Yuyin, wearing a thin silk nightgown, got up to close the window.

In the night, her exquisitely beautiful form was faintly visible, a form that was maternal, that of a big sister, that felt safe.

"Sister Yuyin…" Little Yuan called out from under her covers.

"What is it? Little Yuan, aren’t you asleep yet?"

"I…" Little Yuan knew more, and she was afraid of the night, afraid of those mountains to the west.

"Can we move the beds closer together?" Little Yuan had wanted to push the beds together, but she felt that would be too much trouble for Sister Yuyin.

"Huh?"

Yuyin sighed helplessly, then gave a warm, gentle smile… Really, what is with this surge of motherly love swelling in my chest? Even if my soul isn’t originally female, can it still be influenced by this body’s warmth and hormones?

"Alright," Yuyin said softly.

They dragged Little Yuan’s bed over. The distance between her bed and Yuyin’s was now just wide enough for a person to squeeze through. Otherwise, Yuyin would have to climb onto Little Yuan’s bed to get out, which wouldn’t be good either.

Late into the night, the wind and rain howled outside, and Night Spirits flitted about.

Little Yuan hesitated, still afraid. She reached out her hand, fumbling her way into Yuyin’s covers.

Yuyin was half-awake. She frowned slightly, realized it was Little Yuan, and reached out to hold Little Yuan’s hand. She knew she was scared.

And so, Yuyin gently let Little Yuan hold her hand as they both drifted off to dream.
