Chapter 184 : Ghost Princess
Chapter 184 : Ghost Princess
184: Ghost Princess
The Ghost Princess’s golden eyes narrowed. This was the Ghost Clan Fortress; how could anyone be here? It had to be a trap!
The Ghost Princess was immensely powerful, and she could clearly sense that the human within the walls had not unleashed her full Primordial Energy. She was definitely hiding her strength!
Li Su!?
Could it be that Li Su had already taken this fortress’s tribe hostage?
While suppressing her own aura, the Ghost Princess vaulted over the wall with incredible speed. Without a moment's hesitation, she charged toward the source of the human presence. But when she sped around the other side of the pavilion in a few silent steps, she froze.
"Hm!?"
There, below the wall, stood the jade-white back of a tall, graceful woman.
The woman was standing beside a wooden barrel, her long hair swept to one side, presumably draped over her front. A pair of long, slender arms held a wooden basin, pouring clear, cold spring water over her body.
Her fair, slightly slender, beautiful back, her waist, narrow and soft yet firm and toned, and then the sudden, perfect flare of her rounded hips, and her long, flawless legs that the Ghost Princess could not help but envy…
The woman’s back, glistening under the trickling stream of cold water, seemed to shimmer with a lively, sensual sheen, laid bare in the morning light before the girl.
For a moment, the Ghost Princess, who had intended to burst in, see the enemy’s face, and even assassinate them, hesitated.
Yuyin held the small wooden basin high, the last of the water still falling onto her shoulders and tracing a natural path down the channel of her body. It was then that she noticed the intruder behind her. But it was too late to cover herself. Her back had been completely exposed.
Who was it?
The other had managed to approach so close behind her, close enough to see her entire body, without her noticing. Even now, Yuyin could not fathom her opponent’s strength, but her presence felt like that of a young girl?
She did not turn around immediately. Both seemed to be locked in a silent standoff.
The Ghost Princess watched for a moment longer, then suddenly snapped out of her daze and moved.
Her speed was incredible!
Yuyin reacted at the same instant, whipping the basin backward with tremendous force.
With Yuyin’s strength, the basin spun through the air with extraordinary velocity.
Whizz.
The Ghost Princess’s form flickered.
"What? She dodged!?"
One hand covering her high, full breasts, Yuyin turned slightly, her gaze locking onto the figure lunging to kill her. It was indeed a petite, swift girl!
With her other hand, she snatched the wet silk scarf and whipped it backward in a reverse strike at the Ghost Princess, who was now only two or three paces behind her.
Smack!
The Ghost Princess’s reaction was astonishing. At that range, with Yuyin’s powerful strike, she actually caught the scarf mid-air, using it to yank the partially turned Yuyin toward her.
"What!?" Yuyin hadn’t expected the small girl to be so powerful, her speed and strength exceeding her own, her reflexes just as sharp.
The Ghost Princess erupted with her full Primordial Energy in an instant. Gripping the scarf, she gave a powerful tug, pulling Yuyin toward her with an irresistible force. She leaped forward, her wrist twisting with impossible speed, using the silk sash to wrap around Yuyin’s left arm. She pulled back, locking Yuyin’s hand against her own side, twisting it into the small of her back. As Yuyin was pulled backward, the Ghost Princess’s chest collided with Yuyin’s smooth back, while her own lean, bony frame pressed against Yuyin’s full, supple, ocean-like rear.
In that moment, the faint, fresh scent of a woman, youthful yet with a hint of maturity, fresh from her bath, filled the Ghost Princess’s lungs. For an instant, her eyes narrowed, and she almost lost herself in the sensation.
But the Ghost Princess was a prodigy among assassins. She quickly regained her focus, her right hand flashing to her waist to draw a dagger, which she pressed against Yuyin’s throat.
"You Li Su bitch! How dare you occupy my clan’s fortress!" the Ghost Princess demanded, her voice laced with fury. "Talk. Where are your accomplices hiding? If you don’t talk, I’ll kill you, you whore!"
"Who are you calling that!? Who, who is Li Su!? And who are you!?" Yuyin retorted, her voice tight with urgency.
"What?" The Ghost Princess was about to intensify her interrogation, but she stopped. "Xia Yuyin? How do you speak our tongue? You… you’re a Xia woman?"
The Ghost Princess was incredibly intelligent and had a deep understanding of their greatest foe. Li Su was supremely arrogant, viewing both the Xia people and the Ghost Clan as inferior races. She would never deign to learn the Xia tongue to masquerade as one of them.
Besides, no Xia person had ever been seen here, a fact the Ghost Princess knew well. In the regions where Xia activity and Ghost Clan territory overlapped, the two peoples were constantly slaughtering one another, so there would be no point in disguising herself as a Xia woman.
And… this woman’s voice was pleasant. That standard, pampered Xia dialect, with the infuriatingly noble tone of a high-born young lady, was not something that could be easily faked.
This woman was truly a Xia woman, and most likely of high status! The Ghost Princess concluded.
The Xia and the Ghost Clan had a long history of conflict, but it was very different from their conflict with Li Su. The Xia and the Ghost Clan were enemies, but not mortal ones. That was the ancestral teaching. Furthermore, the Ghost Princess needed to understand why this Xia woman was here alone.
The Ghost Princess was now less inclined to kill Yuyin. She flipped her wrist, pressing the wooden hilt of the dagger rudely against Yuyin’s chest. Rising onto her toes, she hissed in Yuyin’s ear, "Talk. Why is a Xia woman here? Has your people’s territory already expanded this far? If you don’t answer, this Princess will make you suffer!"
The Ghost Princess’s aura was immense. Yuyin could feel it now. Late-Stage of Void Truth Realm! And the ancient, primordial chaos contained within that aura was far nobler and more powerful than that of an ordinary alien tribesman. Yuyin judged instantly that she was far stronger than a typical Late-Stage of Void Truth Realm cultivator.
She was no match for her in a direct confrontation, let alone now, being held captive in such a disadvantageous physical position. A woman, with her back turned to her enemy, was in an extremely passive situation.
She couldn’t win. She could only stall her for now. Fortunately, her captor’s mortal enemy seemed to be Li Su. The enemy of my enemy is, at the very least, not beyond reasoning with.
"Hmph. If I’d known, I never would have bothered saving this fortress. A ghost is a ghost; there’s no such thing as honor among them!" Yuyin’s chest trembled as she spoke coldly.
"What did you say? How dare you insult my Ghost Clan!" the Ghost Princess roared, about to bite down on Yuyin’s shoulder, but then the meaning of Yuyin’s earlier words registered. Wait. Calm down…
"Wait, you said you saved this fortress?" the Ghost Princess asked.
"Yes! I was being hunted by the Li Su tribesmen and got lost deep in the Prison Abyss. I stumbled upon this place by mistake last night, only to find a group of Li Su cultivators slaughtering your Ghost Clan inside the fortress. I didn’t want to get involved, but… I couldn’t bear to watch. So I stepped in, killed a few of their strong ones, and drove the rest off, saving this tribe."
"Oh? So, you’re not just a woman whose body looks overflowing with maternal love, but your heart is quite kind too?" the Ghost Princess said, still pressing the dagger hilt into Yuyin’s back. She tilted her head, her eyes shimmering with a subtle light as she spoke from behind her.
