Chapter 27 Rallying Order
Chapter 27 Rallying Order
Nefarian.
Sieg took two steps forward and stood in front of the crowd.
He spoke up out of the blue, asking, "Can you still use the 'Rallying Call' now?"
Nefar was slightly taken aback.
"Rallying Order" is one of his skills, derived from a seventh-tier essence he absorbed—the essence of the Abyss Legion Commander.
The ability's effect is to forcibly pull teammates to your side.
As the former chief court mage of the Eastern Demon King's City, Nefarian held a high position and was very famous. Many people knew that he could cast the "Call to Arms".
but--
Mr. Daigen, how did you find out?
The situation was critical, and he couldn't worry about anything else. He simply said, "With my current strength, I cannot harness the essence of the Legion Commander. This ability is unusable."
"You can. And you must."
Sieg is ruthless and merciless.
He glanced at me sideways, his expression leaving no room for doubt: "Try to destroy the Legion Commander's essence, and use the energy released when it shatters to cast 'Rallying Command' one last time. The consequence will be that you will be injured and could be swept away by the torrent of magic, resulting in a gruesome death. But now is the time for you to take the risk of sacrifice."
What?
What are you saying?
Miss Grapefruit doesn't understand at all!
Xiyou knew about the rallying cry; it was a strategically important monster essence, extremely rare.
but--
Destroy the essence, then forcibly unleash its power using the dissipated energy?
I've never heard of such a thing!
Adventurers can change their essence, but they must be fully prepared.
Because the essence and the heart fire coexist in the same room, both within the sea of spirit, the violent shock generated when the essence is destroyed could very likely destroy the heart fire.
The fire of the heart is the source of extraordinary power.
Once the fire goes out, the best outcome is paralysis, and most likely, death by explosion!
Replacing the essence is a technical job, and even with the assistance of professionals, accidents can still happen from time to time.
And now.
Actively destroying the essence? Within this Fire Palace?
Too dangerous!
Without giving Nefarian time to consider or hesitate, Sieg turned to look at him: "The drop in rank won't affect your precise control over magic. Given the heights you've reached, I believe you can handle everything, and you'll most likely not die."
"..."
Seriously, such inexplicable trust.
Dagen, do you know yourself?
Nefarian looked at Sieg's face, which resembled that of the Demon King, and saw the shadow of his king in his posture and demeanor.
"I see."
He became serious, casually casting a spell to mark Sig and Xiyou, awaiting further instructions.
Sieg pointed southeast and said, "Go in that direction, and once you see the cemetery, use the rallying call."
"Hehe, interesting."
The lawbreaker is extremely patient.
He suppressed his murderous intent and stood to the side listening to Sieg's tactical instructions: "Struggle is the instinct of life. No one can die peacefully. You can use your talents to the fullest and fight for survival with all your might... That way, when death truly comes, you can have fewer regrets and more peace of mind."
"What are you pretending for? You don't actually think you've got this in the bag, do you?!"
Sieg placed his palm on the Necronomicon.
My middle finger feels slightly hot and painful; a small cut has opened up, and fresh blood is seeping out.
Endless black smoke billowed out, and a skeleton archer, over two meters tall, opened the gates of the underworld and appeared abruptly.
With a snap.
Sieg closed the Necronomicon, his gaze towards the Spellbreaker showing no fear: "Neferpitou is heading southeast, and now, Xiyou and I are fleeing northwest. I want to know, which way do you plan to pursue us?"
The voice just fell.
Sieg grabbed Xiyou's arm and ran wildly in the northwest direction!
"?"
Nepha was inevitably taken aback. He stared at Sieg, who was running faster than a rabbit, and his mind went blank.
He was, after all, a top-tier spellcaster, and quickly realized Sieg's strategy—
"Brilliant!"
Without saying a word, he just looked at the lawbreaker, gave a cold laugh, and turned to run towards the cemetery in the southeast.
"coward."
The Spellbreaker watched Sieg flee and instinctively wanted to give chase!
But he quickly stopped.
Who should he pursue?
It should be Nefarian. Sieg played his hand openly; he gave instructions in front of the Spellbreakers, telling Nefarian to summon them with "Rallying Call" once he reached the designated location.
and so.
He should head southeast now.
but……
If he chases Nefarian, and Nefarian doesn't gather his teammates, what should he do?
Nefarian is a kind-hearted Typhlin.
He never intended to drag Sig and Xiyou into this mess. When the Lawbreakers came after him, he would simply embrace death with equanimity and satisfaction.
In that case, the plan of the lawbreaker will fail.
He couldn't threaten Nefarian, nor could he find out the whereabouts of the "Crown of Eastern Magic";
So, should he head southeast to hunt down Sieg and Xiyou?
"Damn it...human cunning always surprises me!"
The only option is to chase after those two humans.
We need to be quick, and we can't kill them; we need to capture them alive so that we can threaten Nefarian into revealing the secret.
The Spellbreaker raised his blazing golden eyes, looking at the silent, focused skeleton archer, and raised his longsword: "Make your move! My time is extremely limited."
The skeleton archer... took a step back.
"?"
The lawbreaker frowned.
What does this mean?
That human, Sig, his strategy was clear: the purpose of summoning this skeleton soldier was obviously to hinder his progress.
Otherwise, with his strength, he could catch up with them in less than three minutes.
that……
Was the skeleton soldier's step back a serious gesture?
That's enough.
Time is of the essence, and it's best if the Skeleton Archer doesn't want to cause any trouble.
The Spellbreaker crouched low and exerted its strength, leaping ten meters in a single bound, sprinting in the direction Sig had gone—
"call!"
A heavy whooshing sound rang out as a meter-long arrow whistled through the air, hurtling towards the open space in front of the spellbreaker.
The lawbreaker reacted extremely quickly and possessed solid technical skills.
Like a spinning top, he spun and twisted in mid-air, dissipating the cannonball's momentum and falling like a lump of iron, dodging the arrow that should have pierced him.
His golden eyes blazed with fury as he turned to look at the skeleton archer!
The skeleton archer... took another step back.
It hunched its shoulders, bent its back, and lurked around furtively; its entire skeletal frame exuded an air of sleazy cunning.
The skull, devoid of flesh, seemed to be grinning maliciously.
It's hard.
fist.
At this moment, the Spellbreaker finally learned all of Sieg's tricks.
The skeleton archers he summoned were indeed for sniping.
But he clearly thought more and thought further ahead.
The order given was not to forcefully obstruct, but to maintain distance and harass from a distance. The skeleton archer's mission was not to kill the spellbreaker, but to prevent him from pursuing with all his might!
"die!"
The lawbreaker was furious!
He leaped into the air, his longsword blazing with crimson flames, leaving a long trail in the night as he slashed down at the skeleton archer!
"Gah."
The skeleton archer grinned and turned to run northwest, showing no intention of engaging in a direct confrontation.
The Spellbreaker slashed down, carving a deep pit in the soft ground.
Soil flew everywhere, and roots and leaves flew about.
Several large trees fell down in response, and the one who broke the law stood in the pit, spinning in place.
Southeast? Northwest? Southwest?
I just wish I could be in two places at once!
Where should he go now?
