Chapter 93 -Demon

(Rewinding a few hours back . We will take it from where we left at Lea's place. )

Everyone followed Elizabeth Rodgers back to the Rodger mansion including the cops and the detectives but they all took separate roads like Elizabeth had instructed. She had forbidden them from taking any calls from anyone until they reached the Rodgers mansion and had seen the evidence she had to provide. Everyone reluctantly agreed but they could sense she was onto something. And it was grave.

The cops and the detectives entered the mansion through the backdoor and went straight to Elizabeth's study. She entered through the front door with her kids and instructed the gates to be closed.

" Alright, now that we are all here," She turned towards the detectives, " Would you like to start building them up for what's coming? " She looked strangely anxious and nervous, herself. " Wait! " Mercy stood up as the detectives were about to start talking. " Percy isn't here. Let me call him real quick. He has been working his ass off as well, leaving everything else. It won't be fair... " Mercy's eyes were on her screen as her fingers moved towards his number but her eyes shot up when Elizabeth grabbed her wrist and shook her head. " I said no calling till we are done with this. Just between the ones that are present. "

" But Mother... " Mercy tried to protest but there was something in Elizabeth's eyes that made Mercy immediately give up and take her seat.

" This kidnapping wasn't something spontaneous. Apparently it brewed over a long period of time. " Elizabeth began. Jake shifted uneasily in his seat. " Can you please make this quick. I am losing my damn patience. My son is out there. Lea is out there and we are sitting here having a story time... " Just then the officers phone rang aloud. " Sorry ma'am, I will have to take this. " He looked like a student defying the teacher's order , looking back at Elizabeth. It took only three minutes. He stood up with light in his eyes. " We need to move. We have a lead. Miss. Sully was seen at a gas station making a long phone call and she left her card there. This takes us straight to the kidnappers den. "

All of them immediately stood up, ready to leave when Elizabeth called aloud. " You don't understand what you are dealing with here. This is old pent up vengeance. You need to listen to me if you were to get the kid out safe and alive. This isn't just about money. "

" What are you getting at? Spit out? " Phill was thoroughly angry that she wasted precious time listening to her rubbish. Deep down he still had his doubts on her. Elizabeth took a deep breath.

" Hate me all you will but you will have to believe this. The mastermind behind this is none other than the person you call brother... Percy! "

Percy stared down at his own reflection in the mirror, a smirk forming on his lips. Then he looked down on the dehumanised pictures of Lea again, flashing on his screen.

It was only months ago that he had bumped into Rosa at a night club. He remembered her because he had seen her a couple of times when she still worked in the industry , while he went to visit Mercy. She had told him. about her situation with Jake.

Jake cared about nothing else after Lea went away from his life. Even with the DNA reports, he merely gave her money to get rid of the kid. But Rosa, for some unforeseen reason kept her pregnancy going, without Jake's knowledge. She even went ahead and circulated a fake gossip about herself and Jake. It went about before disappearing within a couple of days but it wrecked havoc on her own career. She was summoned and investigated and soon the news about her pregnancy reached her team and managers. They immediately abandoned her since she was way past the stage of abortion by then and had already started showing. She lost all her contracts and was jobless within weeks. She was living off her savings and tried to contact Jake multiple times but he completely blocked her out of his life. In fact, he left the country and stayed away the entire year. Rosa had lost everything at this point. And even her child. The child didn't even survive the first month of it's birth.

She hated Jake. Hated Lea. But at that moment, she was living as a stripper. She was working in the night club when Percy laid his eyes on her. He immediately booked her for a session.

Percy leaned back in the plush velvet chair, the dim lighting of the VIP room casting shadows over his tired face. He was tired of pretending to be the good boy while all he felt inside was hatred. The demon inside him threatened to burst out and he let it out once in a while in places like that.
