Chapter 73 Relax

Chapter 73 Relax

Lea's POV

I lost my appetite as soon as Lisa and I settled at the bistro. I just skimmed through my meal of Tournedos Rossini, the tender beef fillet topped with foie gras and truffle sauce almost mocking my lack of hunger. It wasn't because of Lisa's remark. It happened whenever I was overthinking. I fidgeted with my food, pushing it around my plate.

"Lea, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you,” Lisa said quietly, her voice filled with genuine regret. I sighed, setting down my fork ,pushing back my plate. “It’s not your fault, Lisa. The fault lies in my past. No matter what I do, I can’t seem to shake it off. I will be heading off to the spa. You can finish your food and take some hours off. Pick me up before dinner. ”

"Bienvenue," the receptionist greeted me with a gracious smile. "Welcome to Le Rêve Spa. How can we make your day perfect?"

" I have a reservation for the VIP treatment," I said, "Of course, madame," the receptionist replied, her accent as smooth as silk. "Right this way." I were escorted down a corridor lined with beautifully framed art and soft, ambient lighting. The air was infused with the soothing scents of lavender and eucalyptus, instantly putting me at ease. My attendant was dressed in a crisp white uniform with an even whiter smile. She led me to the VIP suite, a private oasis that was designed to exude luxury and tranquility."Please, make yourselves comfortable," the attendant said, handing me a robe as soft as a cloud. "Your treatments will begin shortly."

I changed into the robe and settled onto a chaise lounge, sinking into its comforting embrace. A soft knock at the door signalled the start of the pampering session. Two therapists entered. "We will begin with a full body exfoliation, followed by a mud mask treatment, and conclude with a deep tissue massage," my therapists explained. They guided me to a heated treatment table, where I lay down and closed my eyes. The exfoliation began.

" Ahhhh! this really feels good. It feels like my skin had been aching...if that is even possible, you know..." It was a gentle yet invigorating scrub that left my skin tingling. One therapist smiled and she seemed happy at my satisfaction but didn't say anything.

I was drifting away. My mind was literally floating on cloud nine without any thoughts. It was a welcome change. Midway through my mud mask treatment, a knock at the door interrupted my thoughts. One of the therapist stepped in, apologizing for the intrusion. “Excuse me, ma’am, but there’s been a slight mix-up with our schedule. Another guest needs to pass through your room to reach their treatment area. It will only take a moment,if you don't mind.”

I nodded, trying to relax despite the thick green mask covering my face. The door opened, and in walked a figure also covered in a similar mud mask, wearing a fluffy robe and slippers. He nodded, then started walking toward the adjoining door. As he passed by, his robe caught on the edge of my massage table, and he stumbled, nearly falling face-first onto the floor.Glancing over, I stifled a giggle. The stranger looked just as ridiculous as I felt. His face was completely unrecognizable under the mask. He hesitated, giving me a polite nod before hurrying through.Once the door closed, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself. The tension from earlier had began to ease.Laying back for my massage, I overheard two staff members chatting outside my door.

“Did you see the guy in room 5? The one with the mud mask?” one of them said, trying to suppress a laugh.

“Yeah, he looked like a walking avocado!” the other replied, giggling."But I heard he is a star or something. A billionaire? I don't know! "

" He is handsome. That's all I know! " Their giggles faded and the hands of my therapists around my shoulder and neck were having more effect than a sedative or a drink.

I couldn’t help but close my eyes and laugh in my mind along with them, imagining the scene. I was in a similar state, after all. The thought of Jake’s face popped into my mind suddenly, making me wonder where he was and what he was doing. I shook my head immediately. Not him. I wasn't going to think about anything at the moment. I was just going to relax and empty my mind.

After the treatment ended, I was wrapped in a luxurious robe and offered a glass of infused water. I sat in the relaxation lounge, sipping slowly and letting the serene atmosphere wash over me.The background, combined with the gentle trickling of a nearby water fountain, created an ambiance of pure tranquility.I moved to sit by the window, the translucent glass providing a blurred view of the outside.I let it wash over me as I sipped my water.

Just then, I noticed a shadow moving on the other side of the glass. I looked up immediately and my heart skipped a beat.I don't know why. The figure on the other side hesitated as well, and for a brief moment, we both stood still, separated by the translucent barrier.

I couldn't see the face clearly, but the proximity made me feel a strange, unsettling connection. I gulped. After what felt like an eternity, the figure moved away, and the spell was finally broken. I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. Shaking off the feeling, I stood up, ready to leave and head back to my hotel.
