Shitou suddenly came out with this sentence.

Feiyang and Li Min paused, and although they really wanted to say that karaoke was a young person’s game, they couldn’t help but entertain the thought.

Shitou added, "Let’s invite the third and fourth uncles and the elder and younger aunts too."

"Okay," Feiyang agreed readily this time, "you arrange it."

So, that evening, a large group from the Gao family booked a private room for a gathering and karaoke session. As Feiyang was the head of the family, his word was an order; everyone came along except Feiyue who was abroad, including Feiyi and Feiteng with their families, as well as Weilin and Feiling’s families.

Everyone was having a boisterous time. The older folks went off to bed early, while Shitou, Shanyue, and Beibei, the youth, partied all night, with Beibei finally satisfied.

Xia Xiao and Gao Jiaxing were relaxing at a hot spring resort at that moment.

The next day, early in the morning, Shitou and Shanyue went on their honeymoon.

Unfortunately, before half a month had passed, they were summoned back due to a mission.

Gao Jiaxing and Xia Xiao met in their youth, married in their early twenties, and had shared more than sixty years of emotions. Their children and grandchildren were busy working outside and couldn’t always stay with them, but they didn’t feel lonely.

Although they were in their seventies and eighties, they were still very healthy and mobile. The old couple often enjoyed strolling in the park and climbing mountains, leading a very comfortable life.

"Shanyue, time to eat," the aunt called as she finished preparing the meal, and Xia Xiao dialed the danger room.

"Grandma, I’m coming down right away," Shanyue checked the time and it was just half-past twelve. She felt a bit embarrassed; she had forgotten to watch the time, and her phone was accidentally set to silent.

The missed call on her phone displayed her younger sister Beilei’s name, Shanyue glanced at it, switched her phone back to ringtone, changed out of her white lab coat, washed her hands, and then headed downstairs with her phone.

"Grandma, sorry for being late," Shanyue apologized.

"It’s okay, we eat around this time at home anyway, someone would have called you," Xia Xiao gestured for Shanyue to sit down and have a meal.

Shanyue noticed only Xia Xiao was present and couldn’t help asking again, "Grandma, where’s grandpa?"

"Your grandpa went to get some wine," Xia Xiao spoke, and just then, Gao Jiaxing came out with the wine.

Aside from breakfast, Gao Jiaxing enjoyed a drink or two with both lunch and dinner.

He was not a heavy drinker, had better physical health than his father Gao Guoqiang, and stronger self-discipline, so Xia Xiao didn’t have to manage him as Zheng Xianghong used to control Gao Guoqiang.

"This wine is good for replenishing blood and qi, you all have a taste," Xia Xiao used to make this wine with spring water, and they had a good supply of it; it was something Gao Jiaxing especially enjoyed and had become a habit to drink a little every day.

Xia Xiao smiled, "Shanyue, try some too."

Xia Xiao took Gao Jiaxing’s wine bottle, poured some for herself, and Shanyue did the same.

"Eat first, you should have something on your stomach before drinking," Gao Jiaxing began eating before he had finished speaking.

Xia Xiao and Shanyue also started eating in succession. The three family members had a simple meal of four dishes and one soup.

Hakka tofu, sweet and sour fish, eggplant pot, shredded potatoes with green peppers, and mixed mushroom and codfish pot.

Older folks tend to enjoy softer foods, but Xia Xiao and Gao Jiaxing still had good teeth. Today’s menu was arranged by Shanyue, evidently catering well to the old couple’s tastes.

Shanyue wasn’t picky about food; she would eat whatever was available and, like Gao Jiaxing, enjoyed more of what she liked. Xia Xiao really appreciated this trait.

Xia Xiao herself was picky with food, and she knew from experience that picky eaters were difficult to manage, and Shitou also had very particular tastes, refusing to eat something he didn’t like again.

Thus, Xia Xiao believed that being unfussy about food was a valuable quality.

"You can ask for more of what you like, anything you want to eat can be made by the aunt," Xia Xiao wasn’t sure what Shanyue liked.
