Chapter 317 - 316: Are Their Personalities Really Not Compatible?

Bea looked at the ladder in front of her, made up of a couple of wooden sticks and a few pieces of broken wood, and blinked in surprise. She turned her head to look at Bella, "Are you sure you want me to climb up from here?"

"Yes." Bella nodded seriously, "You go up first, I’ll hold the ladder for you from below."

"Are you really not joking?" Bea reached out and touched the seemingly very unstable ladder, "Won’t this thing fall apart as soon as I step on it?"

"Don’t worry, you look even skinnier than me, you won’t break it." Bella reassured her.

Bea still hesitated, "Although I’m skinnier than you, I’m much taller, so I’m definitely heavier."

"I don’t want to talk to you anymore." Bella pouted. She’s only 5’4", but Bea is at least 5’7".

"Hahaha, just kidding." Bea laughed, looked up at the very dangerous ladder, gritted her teeth, took off her high heels, and started climbing barefoot.

Every time she stepped on a rung, the ladder wobbled, making her heart pound with every step.

Bella found it amusing watching from below. She could climb this ladder with her eyes closed, yet Bea was so scared.

Clearly, she’s a very bold and imposing person, but in situations like this, she’s quite adorable.

"Are you laughing at me?" Bea looked down at her.

Bella pursed her lips and shook her head.

"Oh well, laugh if you want." Bea snorted, finally reaching the small attic room, and let out a huge sigh of relief.

But before she could fully relax, she looked down at the ladder. She managed to climb up, but how was she going to get down tomorrow?

Bella easily climbed up to the attic, saying, "The room is a bit small, you should lower your head a little since you’re tall. I don’t want you to bump your head."

"Bang!" Just as Bella finished her words, Bea bumped into the doorframe as she entered the room.

The sound was so loud that Bella got startled.

"Bella, let me check, did you get hurt?" For a girl, her face is very important; if a scar appears, it would be terrible.

Bea rubbed her forehead and said, "It’s fine, just hurts a little."

Bella pulled her hand away to check, noticing her forehead was red from the bump, but thankfully not broken skin. She was slightly relieved and a bit embarrassed, "The place is quite small, bear with it a little."

"Small" is a humble understatement. This tiny room is not even a third as big as Bea’s bedroom. With a bed inside, all that fits is a simple fabric wardrobe and a narrow walkway.

Bella rummaged through the wardrobe for a fairly wide nightgown and said, "My pajamas might be too short for you, this nightgown is a bit bigger, try it. Don’t worry, Aunt Sienna washed it very clean."

"I’m not that picky."

The two changed into their nightshirts and got into bed, turning off the lights, the room was plunged into darkness.

Bea bumped Bella’s shoulder and said, "Do you and my brother still have any hope?"

"I don’t know either." Bella shook her head honestly.

"Sigh, I really can’t understand you two." Bea sighed, "You clearly like each other, why can’t you just admit it honestly? Why make it so neither of you are happy."

Regarding this, Bella herself couldn’t answer.

She also wanted to be with Damian happily, but each time their relationship eased, a new conflict would arise.

Is it because their personalities are really not suitable for each other?
