Chapter 315 - 314: Suddenly Seeing Her as Noble

Chapter 315 - 314: Suddenly Seeing Her as Noble

Bella Acker thought about how she used to be in poor health and was a pampered young lady who had never done any manual work, so asking her to help move things seemed a bit unfair to her.

"Bella, you just help me move the washing machine, and I’ll move the other small items with the kids later." Bella Acker said.

Holding a pile of clothes, Bea pointed with her chin at the few children crowded at the door of the canteen, saying, "You want them to help move? Are any of them even five years old?"

Bella Acker felt a bit awkward, "The oldest is just five."

"Kids that young can’t really carry anything." Bea rolled her eyes. "Stop fussing and hurry up so we can eat. I haven’t had dinner yet." With that said, she picked up a pile of clothes and headed inside.

Bella Acker felt very touched and picked up a stack of clothes and followed her in.

Bea turned her head to ask, "Where should I put these?"

"In Aunt Sienna’s room. Follow me." Bella Acker took the lead.

The conditions at the orphanage were poor, with only a few rooms. The children lived in bunk beds in a big room, next to a canteen partitioned out of the space. Besides that, there were just the rooms for Aunt Sienna and the director, which were also used for storage.

Frowning, Bea followed Bella Acker into Aunt Sienna’s room.

The room wasn’t very big, with a bed and various things cluttered around, although it was neatly organized despite the clutter.

Bella Acker placed the things in a corner of the room and said, "Bella, we can just put the clothes here for now."

Bea stepped forward, placing the clothes down and bumping her shoulder against Bella Acker’s, quietly asking, "Did you live here when you were a kid?"

Bella Acker folded the clothes neatly, shook her head, and said, "No. We used to live somewhere else, but after we couldn’t afford the rent, we moved here. The conditions are a bit worse, but the rent is cheaper and the kids can eat and stay warm."

"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to imply it’s messy here, it’s just..." Bea couldn’t find the words to express her surprise at experiencing such conditions for the first time.

"It’s okay." Bella Acker smiled, "I know you didn’t mean it like that."

Bea said, "So you’re the one taking care of them now?"

"I just do what I can." Bella Acker replied modestly.

Bea wrapped an arm around her shoulder, gave her a thumbs up, and said, "I think you’re pretty amazing, apart from being a little silly."

Bella Acker gave her an eye roll, "That first part was completely unnecessary, you didn’t have to say it."

"Haha." Bea laughed heartily, then reached out and pinched the cheek of a little boy who had quietly followed them in.

"Bella," the little boy shyly hid behind Bella Acker’s leg, sneaking a peek at Bea.

Bella Acker laughed and took the little boy’s hand, saying, "Ethan, this is also Bella."

The little boy opened his small mouth in slight confusion, looked at Bella Acker, then at Bea, his tiny hand making a V sign innocently, "Two Bellas? I’m going to tell the others."

With that, he ran out to find his little friends.

Bea said, "These kids are pretty cute. Are you planning to find new families for them?"

"There will be adoptions." Bella Acker explained, "But before we allow it, we have to make sure of the family situation of the adopters. Whether they’re wealthy or not doesn’t matter, but they must be a family that loves children."

"That’s good." Bea nodded, "Do you need volunteers here? I can help."
