Chapter 312 - 311: Should We Still Be Together?

Chapter 312 - 311: Should We Still Be Together?

Damian gripped the steering wheel tightly, his expression extremely grim and frightening.

He had never imagined himself losing control to such an embarrassing extent, even to the point of contemplating simply destroying her.

Damian was well aware of his personality, cold and indifferent from a young age, especially when it came to women.

Yet this little woman barged into his life, circling around him like a small dog.

For one year, two years, three, he could remain unmoved. But into the fourth and fifth, especially when he saw her sick and burning with fever, cheeks flushed and he himself feeling a pang of heartache, he knew for sure he couldn’t let go of her.

Falling for the first time, he was just an ordinary man experiencing the taste of love for the first time.

He wanted to possess her, yet ironically became worried and insecure when faced with her affection.

The more he wanted to hold on, the more he feared losing.

This emotion lingered in his heart, turning his usually remarkable self-control into shambles.

Anything to do with her made him easy to anger and happy just as easily.

"Beep! Beep!" The harsh honking of a horn echoed on the road.

Damian snapped back to reality, realizing he hadn’t noticed the traffic light and nearly collided with another car at the intersection.

He quickly turned the steering wheel and hit the brakes.

The car stopped, and the driver of the other vehicle stuck his head out, yelling angrily, "Damn it, don’t you see the traffic lights? If you want to die, go somewhere else! Damn it!" After cursing, he drove away.

Damian listened without expression, and only when the red light turned green did he start driving again.

His phone rang, the caller ID showing it was Blythe Sinclair.

Damian connected the phone to the car and pressed to answer.

"Hello." His voice had returned to its usual coldness, revealing no emotion.

On the other end, Bea asked probingly, "Brother, how did your talk go?"

"Blythe Sinclair, we will settle this matter properly when you get back," Damian said coldly, turning the car towards the outskirts.

"So it didn’t go well?" Bea sighed, "I was only trying to cheer you up, thinking you might be happy. After all, the issues between you two need to be dealt with sooner or later. Dragging it out is not a solution. If you’re going to end it, end it cleanly without getting tangled up."

Damian said nothing, and Bea continued, "I’ve already told Bella Acker clearly, just set up this meeting for her. After this, I won’t interfere between you two anymore."

"Don’t meddle in things between me and her," Damian said, "Otherwise, next time mom and dad ask you to return to the old house, I won’t cover for you."

"Oh, my dear brother, I was wrong, really wrong, okay?" Bea pleaded quickly, with a hint of pout, "I shouldn’t have meddled, I won’t ever again!"

Damian sighed with a hint of helplessness, "Things between her and me aren’t as simple as you think."

"I know, someone else’s comments can’t truly affect a relationship between two people," Bea replied. "But brother, this is the first time I’ve seen you so easily influenced by someone else. Sometimes I feel that the you in those moments isn’t the brother I know, but also feel that you’re more vivid, more like a real person."

Damian was speechless. He knew Bea did all this for him, but whether to completely break off from Bella Acker or to set aside his emotions and start anew, he truly couldn’t make a decision right now.
