Chapter 298 - 297: He Finally Arrived
Chapter 298 - 297: He Finally Arrived
Bella Acker took a deep breath, lowered her head, and stared at her toes as tears began to well up in her eyes.
When you really like someone, just thinking about how he’ll never look at you again makes your heart ache.
Bella Acker pressed her lips tightly together and wiped away the tears with the back of her hand.
"Buzz! Buzz!" Her phone vibrated.
Startled, Bella checked the caller ID and quickly answered, "Bella!"
Bea’s voice came from the other end, "Huh? What? You guys don’t want to play golf and want to go to Joyland instead? What’s so fun about that? Alright, alright, I got it, I’ll be there soon, wait for me." With that, she hung up the phone.
Damian Sinclair, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced at her and then looked away indifferently.
Bea felt a bit guilty, "Bro, my friends want to go to Joyland, so we won’t be going to the golf course."
Damian said nothing, and Bea felt even more nervous, giving a fake cough, continuing, "Seriously! A bunch of kids’ stuff they like; I don’t know what they’re thinking, it’s really childish, right, bro? Hehe, oh hehe."
Damian shot her a sideways glance, still not speaking.
Bea didn’t dare say anything more. She felt that in front of her brother, the more she said, the more mistakes she would make; who knew which word would give her away, so she focused on driving instead.
Eventually, the car stopped by the roadside outside Joyland, and Bea pretended to take out her phone to make a call.
Bella Acker heard the vibration and quickly answered, "Hey, Bella..."
"We’re already at the entrance. Where are you? What? You’re at the back entrance? Alright, alright, I’ll come find you." Hanging up, Bea looked at her brother with a helpless face, "Bro, my unreliable friends are at the back entrance. I’ll go find them first. Can you help us buy the tickets?"
"Blythe Sinclair, are you hiding something from me?" Damian turned his head to look at her.
Bea, ridden with guilt, couldn’t meet her brother’s eyes, her gaze darting around as she said, "No way, bro, you’re overthinking. Alright, here’s the car key, I’ll go find my friends first, and you get the tickets for us." With that, she opened the car door, jumped out, and ran as if being chased by a ghost.
Damian frowned, not sure what she was up to.
However, he had his own issues on his mind, was in a bad mood, and didn’t think much about it. He grabbed the car key, got out of the car, locked it, and walked towards the ticket booth.
Bea ran off and called Bella Acker again, "My brother’s gone to buy the tickets, I’m leaving now; the rest is up to you."
Bella was very grateful to her, "Bella, thank you."
"Seriously, I’m doing this for my brother, not for you," Bea said. "If you’re reconciling, be together properly. If you’re splitting up, make a clean break, don’t leave each other hanging and both end up miserable. That’s it, bye."
Hearing this, Bella Acker lowered her eyes, holding the phone tightly. She wanted to make up with Damian, but what was he thinking?
Maybe he wanted to end things completely?
Bella’s nose tingled with the urge to cry, and she took a few deep breaths to suppress the tears threatening to escape.
She clutched the Wintergreen Flower tightly and looked ahead.
Today, Damian was wearing a black coat with a gray sweater and casual pants underneath, a scarf wrapped around his neck, looking very relaxed and comfortable.
His tall build and handsome features quickly caught the attention of passersby.
