Warhammer 40K: The Emperor's Raven

Chapter 249: Am I protagonist of Destiny?

Chapter 249: Am I protagonist of Destiny?

Tiga, in his Glitter Form, was overwhelming the two remaining monsters. He quickly defeated Basiliss, blasting it to pieces. King of Mons, alone again, was brutally beaten, its wings ripped off, before being dragged high into the sky. Finally, a dazzling beam of light blasted it apart, ending its reign.

The monsters were defeated.

People who witnessed this cheered, but many quickly burst into tears, heartbroken. The monster attack had come so suddenly that people hadn't had time to react; many had lost family members and friends in the disaster.

Who could accept that loved ones, parents, children, and friends were suddenly separated by death, never to be seen again?

This undeserved catastrophe was unbearable pain for so many.

Raven did not excuse the perpetrators simply because they were children. Such acts of evil, bringing suffering to others, could not be overlooked just because of youth.

He exposed the entire incident. Angry citizens gathered and put pressure on the authorities. As a result, Kashimada and his companions were sentenced to life imprisonment with no possibility of commutation for any reason.

Their parents were also sentenced to prison after a deep investigation into how indulgent they were of their children's misdeeds, failing to raise their children properly, and allowing such evil to flourish. Though mostly it was public pressure that the living authority wanted to quell as soon as possible.

After resolving everything, Raven took the Red Sphere and Ultraman Tiga and left that parallel dimension, returning to Time City.

Time City.

Upon returning, Raven spent considerable time studying the Red Sphere, quickly grasping its operating mechanism.

Simply put: it absorbed negative emotions like greed, converted them into energy, and leveraged destiny to manifest what people desired. In layman's terms, it was like a tool version of the four Chaos Gods.

Raven enhanced the sphere with technology from other universes, strengthening its ability to collect emotions and convert them into energy. Now it could absorb not only negative emotions, but any emotional fluctuation.

"Maybe I should test it, see how it goes."

He acted immediately, returning to the Mist Space and finding the universe closest to the Ultra Universe: the Kamen Rider Universe.

This universe's power system was unique; technology and supernatural power coexisted, their combination giving birth to something called the Kamen Rider System. Creatures living there could, once they gained the approval of a specific law, transform into Kamen Riders and wield that law's power.

The Kamen Rider Universe was stable enough, a suitable testing ground.

Raven established a spacetime portal and began pulling the souls of the dead into Time City. Using the Red Sphere, he helped them reshape their bodies and implanted the mission system he'd created into them.

In an unknown spacetime:

Ito, a thirty-year-old who'd accomplished nothing in life, was walking down the street when he was suddenly hit by a large truck.

"Is this how my life ends?"

He lay in a pool of blood, watching panicked people scream around him, lamenting that his life was about to end.

At that moment, a screen of light appeared before him.

[Do you want to understand the meaning of life?]

[Do you want to know the secrets of the universe?]

[Do you want to gain supreme power and strength?]

[Yes!]

Ito's eyes widened. He subconsciously chose YES.

The next second, dazzling white light enveloped him. Then he appeared in a pure white room. His body, deformed from the truck crash, was restored to its original state, not a single scratch visible.

"Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west of the river, never underestimate a young man's potential! After all these years, is it finally my turn?!"

Ito shouted a somewhat known Chinese proverb, incredibly excited. Over the years, he'd watched countless anime and read web novels.

The protagonists who achieved great things all had beginnings like this, summoned by some mysterious forces who may or may not be the ultimate villain. They were granted power, growing stronger along the way, finally becoming unparalleled powerhouses pursued by countless women.

He'd thought his life would be mediocre and hopeless. Who could've imagined such a dramatic turn? Surely, witha his extraordinary wisdom and methods, Ito was confident he could carve out his own path.

"Let the world tremble before me! A new king is about to be born!"

Ito danced with joy for a moment, then stepped out of the pure white room.

He froze.

Outside were at least a million people, all emerging from identical white rooms just like him.

"Oye! Come on, brother, what are you standing there for? Feeling your Main character's dream shatter, so you can't accept it? Ha-Ha-Ha Eye Everybody look at this idiot." Someone shoved Ito from behind, bringing him back to his senses.

"Why are there so many people?" Ito asked, bewildered.

No one answered. He could only be pushed forward by the crowd.

After passing through a magnificent corridor, a grand technological plaza suddenly appeared before him. A colossal double-headed eagle statue stood at the center. Above it floated a beautiful woman with an ancient mirror hovering beside her. Below, a dense crowd had gathered.

"What is this place?" Ito asked the person next to him.

"How should I know? I only remember a big truck coming at me," the person replied helplessly.

"A truck?? That's exactly what happened to me!" Ito's eyes widened, utterly bewildered.

"Welcome to Time City, chosen ones," the woman in the air spoke, her voice carrying clearly across the plaza. "My name is Arena, your guide and administrator. The Lord has chosen you to become trial participants of Time City."

"You've all recalled your memories before death. The Lord resurrected you with his power. If you successfully complete your missions, you will obtain everything you desire and continue to live. If you fail, eternal annihilation awaits you."

Ito clenched his fist. 'Isn't this exactly like Gantz?'

It seemed his earlier guess was correct; he'd been chosen to join some organized trial system.

"I will succeed," Ito silently clenched his fist, cheering himself on.

The mirrors floating beside Arena shone brightly, eventually intertwining to open a passage.

"The passage to another world has been opened. Move out, trial participants. Only those who complete the mission can return."
