Chapter 365: Ch 365: The Liss Family of Yoharselum

Chapter 365: Ch 365: The Liss Family of Yoharselum

After witnessing Ling Xiaolong and listening to his words, Emrys was frozen as his thoughts scattered like stardust in a storm.

For a moment, he was even mesmerized by Ling Xiaolong’s strength. However, he soon suppressed his thoughts and wanted to divert them by thinking about how to improve his Cosmic Cultivation.

But then, he seemed to have realized a critical point that he almost ignored just now.

He frowned and couldn’t help but think.

Was this truly it?

Was he nothing more than a character in someone else’s game?

The words spoken by Ling Xiaolong echoed endlessly in his mind: "I created a game... The player will carry my blessing... He’ll walk the paths I’ve laid out for him..."

At first, Emrys was confused. He had heard it all clearly. Ling Xiaolong wasn’t speaking in metaphors. He really meant it. His entire life seemed to have been designed.

However, he was still given full freedom to choose and decide how to live his life and how to walk the path ahead.

Well, he knew a part of it a long time ago. Ling Xiaolong had told him the truth the first time they met. But still, becoming someone’s pawn did not give him a good feeling.

"A game?"

The word hit something deep inside him.

Back on Earth, where he was originally born, games were a part of everyday life. Game worlds, characters with stats and skills, stories written by developers, he understood it all too well.

Even in the Infinite Soul Stars, there were games, simulations, and virtual constructs.

But to think he, Emrys Frazier, would become a game character one day?

A sharp coldness pierced his heart as the realization took full form.

His hands trembled, and then, anger suddenly surged through his chest like a volcano ready to erupt.

But right behind that fury came an aching helplessness.

What could he do?

Ling Xiaolong wasn’t someone he could rebel against. Just his gaze in memory had shaken Emrys’s very soul. He knew he couldn’t fight him. He couldn’t even stand near him. He was too small right now, and too weak.

And yet...

Emrys breathed deeply and clenched his fist tighter than ever before.

"I must become strong."

"One day, I’ll grow stronger, stronger than everyone, stronger than even you, Ling Xiaolong. If I have to walk your paths, then I’ll walk them, but I’ll make them mine. And one day..."

Emrys muttered inwardly, "One day, I’ll break your game."

Emrys spent a few minutes to calm the boiling rage in his heart and then shifted his attention completely.

Now, he focused on finding a way to increase his Cosmic Cultivation.

While Emrys was buried in deep contemplation, somewhere far away in the realm of Yoharselum, a different storm was brewing.

Inside an enormous hall carved entirely from giant shimmering soul stones, a young man was standing draped in silver-blue robes. The expression on his face was serious.

Over a dozen Spiritas were sitting before him. Each one of them was exuding an oppressive pressure suffocating enough to shatter the soul of an Eternal Sky Soul Master with a mere glance. Their bodies glowed with translucent hues of spirit light, and behind them floated a massive wheel made of pure Soul Force.

As for what these wheels are for, perhaps, only these Spiritas know.

This was the Liss Family of Yoharselum, the family of pure Spiritas, one of the ten holy grounds of the Spiritas race.

At the center of the elevated platform sat Yor’ar Liss, the current head of the family. His soul aura was like an unmoving abyss. It was cold, vast, and commanding.

On’ar Liss was a proud descendant of the main bloodline.

Currently, he was kneeling respectfully at the center of the hall. Several radiant items were hovering in front of him. They were a glowing scroll that was recording a powerful Soul Cultivation Method, two crystal tablets recording two different soul skills, and a flickering soul treasure shaped like a miniature dragon’s claw.

Even among the countless treasures in the Spiritarium, none could compare to this dragon’s claw. The grade of this treasure had already surpassed the last known grade here.

On’ar had obtained these treasures after passing three trials inside the inheritance ground. By now, he had already explained the entire event that transpired in the Dark Desert.

At this moment, the entire hall was shocked. Everyone’s gazes were locked on the treasures floating in front of On’ar.

"These treasures had already surpassed the highest-ranked soul artifacts within the Spiritarium," one of the elders murmured.

"Indeed. We’ve heard of the legend but never thought that the legend was really true. It turned out, there does exist a vaster starry sky beyond the boundary of Spiritarium."

Gasps of shock and low voices echoed through the hall.

Yor’ar Liss raised his hand, and the hall became quiet instantly. His eyes locked onto On’ar like twin beams of cosmic light.

"On’ar Liss, are you sure that the inheritance ground has been closed?"

His voice was neither loud nor soft, but On’ar felt the voice hitting his soul directly, shaking him to the core. Although he had already told the truth previously, facing such pressure, even if he had a thousand guts, he wouldn’t have dared to lie at this moment.

On’ar lowered his head and replied with utmost seriousness, "Yes, Family Head. I cannot say for sure, but I’m at least 90% certain that the inheritance ground has been closed. Our five friends were still going through trials when we were forcefully sent out. And after that, we could no longer enter the inheritance ground. It seems there was someone else who entered that place before us and obtained the complete inheritance."

A heavy silence followed his words.

Some of the elders clenched their fists, and others closed their eyes in frustration.

Just from looking at the treasures obtained by On’ar after passing only three trials, everyone was sure that the inheritance was a supreme legacy.

But now, it was gone.

Just these treasures were enough to awaken greed even in the heart of Yor’ar Liss, who has already cultivated to the peak of the Supreme Sovereign Soul Realm, becoming one of the strongest beings in the entire Spiritarium.

Then what about the true inheritance?

Its value must have surpassed everything they could have imagined.
