Chapter 306: Ch 306: I Was The King of Abyss

Lu Moyu looked around, but he saw nothing. The cave was quiet, and the Archway stood still, silently releasing dark mist continuously. But he knew something was watching him.

It has to be known that Lu Moyu used to be a very powerful dark entity. Even so, his heart was beating fast at this moment. A deep fear rose inside him. Like Emrys, his first reaction was to run, but he held himself back.

Then, from the darkness, a wave of air brushed past his ears. This wave brought a sentence. The voice was soft but cold.

"The Abyss is in turmoil, and the source is you. Why? Why is the Abyss reacting in such a way? You... You do not belong here. Get lost!"

Lu Moyu’s face darkened. The first two sentences surprised him, for even he never imagined Abyss would react to his return. But the second sentence where he was told to get lost caused him to clench his fists.

"Who are you?" Gritting his teeth, Lu Moyu asked.

The air became heavy in an instant. The Mist of Abyss stopped moving. It was as if something had frozen time itself.

Both Lu Moyu and Emrys watched in shock as a shadow appeared. The shadow was tall and covered in black mist. Its eyes were like two glowing red moons. It did not move, but its presence was terrifying.

Emrys felt his soul tremble. This shadow gave him a strange sense of familiarity, yet he couldn’t understand why. He was certain he had never met or seen this dark creature before. So why did it feel both familiar and dangerously unsettling?

Lu Moyu, who was full of confidence just a minute ago, took a step back.

There was no way he could forget this creature. He seemed to have seen an entity from millions of years ago, reminding him of a terrifying nightmare. Lu Moyu’s entire body shuddered, and this sensation was transmitted to Emrys as well.

At this time, the shadow spoke again, "You took what was not yours. You opened what should remain closed. You did what was forbidden. You are not allowed to return. Go back."

Lu Moyu’s eyes narrowed. He took a few deep breaths to calm his fast-beating heart, and then said, "I created this Archway. Although forbidden, it is connected to the Abyss. Once the path is opened, this little universe can be easily swallowed by the Abyss. At that time, the Abyss can secretly invade the Cosmic Field beyond as well. The shadow did not reply this time. After a few seconds, it raised a hand. A dark force spread out. The cave trembled heavily. Simultaneously, the divine runes on the walls flickered intensely, trying to resist the dark force.

Lu Moyu was pushed back a few steps just from the aura. He gritted his teeth. He could feel the power pressing on him, trying to crush his soul. Even Emrys, hidden inside, felt like he was being pulled into darkness.

Then, the shadow, who was supposed to be some sort of guardian, spoke again. "Leave now... or be erased."

Lu Moyu’s face twisted in anger. He had waited too long for this moment. He would not back down. He took a deep breath and started gathering the Mist of Abyss around him. His body glowed with dark energy.

Emrys, on the other hand, watched silently. He did not interfere. He knew something big was about to happen.

As for the sense of familiarity he felt toward the dark creature, Emrys could now guess a thing or two. It seems that sense of familiarity came from Lu Moyu’s part of the soul that fused with him.

Although he doesn’t have any memories regarding this dark entity, this creature must have left a huge impression on Lu Moyu so that every bit of his soul could remember its aura.

Lu Moyu’s face twisted in anger. His eyes burned with fury. He gritted his teeth and shouted, "I was once the King of Abyss! I ruled the darkness! I helped the Abyss swallow hundreds of Cosmic Fields! I failed only once! Just once! And the Abyss has already punished me so severely? Why are you then trying to cut my connection to the Abyss completely? Not even giving me a chance to return?"

His voice was filled with rage and disbelief; his every word echoed in the cave. The divine runes on the walls flickered wildly. Even Emrys could feel the Divine Runes struggling to resist the abyssal energy filling the space.

Emrys was stunned. He never expected Lu Moyu to claim that he used to be a King, the King of Abyss.

What does a King signify?

Emrys could still recall that when he was in Chaos, he had learned about the cultivation realms there. The strongest realm was the 36 Levels of Master of Chaos. However, above them was a legendary realm said to have surpassed the very limits of Chaos itself. That realm was known as the King of Chaos.

The ’King of Abyss’ should be similar to the King of Chaos. It must be a realm where one can step into Eternity after reaching it.

Lu Moyu was not done yet. He roared, "I was a king! And I will return! Guardian, if you stop me, once I regain my power, you will die!"

The shadowy creature with two glowing eyes did not speak. But it did not hesitate to act. With a simple wave of its hand, an overwhelming abyssal force descended.

Lu Moyu’s eyes widened. He had no time to react. No time to block.

The force struck him like a giant hammer. His body was lifted off the ground and sent flying like a broken doll.

He crashed into the cave wall. Cracks spread on the surface of the wall.

"Urghh!" A groan escaped Lu Moyu’s lips as he coughed out the dark mist. His body trembled.

Emrys, hiding inside him, felt the pain too. No matter what, this body originally belonged to him. As Lu Moyu suffered a blow, his mind shook as well. He felt as if he was falling into endless darkness.
