Chapter 263: Ch 263: Lu Moyu & The Nine Heavens

Chapter 263: Ch 263: Lu Moyu & The Nine Heavens

Emrys slowly opened his eyes, only to be astonished. What lay before him was no longer a dark void but a well-defined environment.

Beside him stood a group of people.

"Where am I?" Emrys asked, frowning as he looked around. He had no memory of this place, and the faces surrounding him were all unfamiliar.

Yet, strangely, these unfamiliar faces evoked a sense of familiarity within him.

Suddenly, a rush of memories was poured into his mind. These pieces of memories were not complete. He only knew his name was no longer Emrys, he was now Lu Moyu. Other than his name, the only thing he knew was that he had come to a place that would give him an opportunity to "ascend".

This ascension is different from ascending to Spiritarium from Celestial Horizon. It was more like shading mortality to become an immortal.

However, this is not an easy task.

Moreover, he was not alone. There was a group of people with him.

These memories actually belonged to the foreign soul.

In the fragmented Cosmic World, when Emrys regained control over the foreign soul and fused with it, he acquired many dark, cursed, and abyssal-attributed skills from the memories associated with that soul. Alongside these skills, he also received a few extremely dark memories.

However, the memories that entered his mind now were nothing like those. The person, Lu Moyu, was actually a righteous cultivator from a Cosmic Field known as the Immortal Cosmic Field.

The reason for Lu Moyu’s transformation toward the dark side remains completely unknown.

What shocked Emrys the most was that he was not merely observing these memories as a third party; he had actually become Lu Moyu.

As far as he could remember, he had been standing beside Ling Xiaolong, and in the next moment, he inexplicably found himself as Lu Moyu.

For a brief time, he was at a loss, unable to comprehend what was happening.

"Hiss! It’s so cold!"

While Emrys was standing in a daze, he was startled by a person’s voice. Glancing sidewise, he saw that person crossing his arms and shivering.

Those who were able to reach this place did not have weak cultivation levels. There was a ’true energy’ barrier protecting their bodies.

However, the cold air in front of them was exceptional. It could even penetrate into the protective energy, causing everyone to feel a bone-piercing coldness.

"What’s wrong? I have a bad feeling about this."

"Let’s hurry up and leave. We shouldn’t stay here for too long."

Sheng Yan and Zhou Xuan looked at each other and immediately led their respective troops up the stairs.

"This cold air does not seem to be ordinary cold. Even if you use some special ’magic treasures’, it is very difficult to stop this cold air from entering your body." Another person spoke.

The cold air that drifted over seemed to be urging everyone to hurry up.

Lu Moyu’s pet, a white wolf, suddenly trembled. It seemed to have sensed something from this chill.

From the memories, Emrys knew that this white wolf had the bloodline of an ancient beast. It inherited the legacy of White Moon Divine Wolf and must have known many things that others were unaware of.

Seeing it trembling, Emrys got curious and asked, "Did you sense something?"

"No... nothing." The White Moon Divine Wolf turned around and looked at Emrys. "However, you should ask those people following you to leave quickly. If you stay here any longer, there might be some bad consequences."

Emrys raised his eyebrows and said in a deep voice, "Let’s go!"

Even Emrys didn’t know when he truly started to accept his identity as Lu Moyu.

Immediately, over a hundred people walked up the stairs in a grandiose manner.

This stair was no ordinary stair. It was called the Heavenly Staircase, rumored to be the road that can lead to the legendary ’Nine Heavens’.

This heavenly staircase was extremely long, and one couldn’t see the end of it with just a glance.

It was different from ordinary steps. Every step here was extremely tall, requiring a large step before one could step on it.

However, all of the people here were cultivators, and their physical strength was many times stronger than that of ordinary people, so they were as flat as flat ground.

"This is the path to the Nine Heavens. Could it be that the Heavenly Dao is toying with us?"

A person named Ao Guang frowned and said.

"Are you sure you didn’t recognize the wrong place?" Emrys transmitted his voice to the White Moon Divine Wolf once again.

At this moment, the facial features of the White Moon Divine Wolf were almost twisted together, as if it was thinking of something that was very difficult to understand.

"No, this is definitely the place. My inherited memories cannot be wrong." The White Moon Divine Wolf was full of confidence.

All the cultivators had ample stamina, and soon, they left for nearly an hour.

However, the steps were still incomparably long, and without an end.

Something was not quite right.

Everyone could feel this.

"Ladies and gentlemen, perhaps this is the test. As long as we continue to be patient, we might know the result." Zhou Xuan was still very patient.

Many of them were at the peak of the Mahayana Realm. There was no limit to the cultivation level here. Their magic power was like an endless tide, so they naturally wouldn’t worry about running out of energy.

Another cultivator turned his head with difficulty. His face darkened as he said, "No, we’ve been through this place before."

He pointed at the mountain wall next to him and said, "I left a mark on it before, but now, we’ve come back. We are actually circling in a circle."

Everyone looked over and saw a bloody handprint on the mountain wall that he pointed at.

So they’ve been walking the same road for so long?

"I knew it. The path to the Nine Heavens isn’t that simple." Ao Guang breathed out a wisp of white gas.
