Chapter 234: Ch 234: Gale Pavilion Auction House

Chapter 234: Ch 234: Gale Pavilion Auction House

Inside the dimly lit room, six Law Enforcement officers stood frozen in place. Their eyes were wide with shock. They had arrived confidently, ready to arrest Emrys for the recent killings. However, the moment Emrys opened the door, things took an unexpected turn.

To their surprise, Emrys didn’t resist or act defensively. Instead, he calmly invited them inside without a word. As soon as they stepped across the threshold, a sudden shift in the atmosphere sent shivers down their spines.

A trace of Emrys’s aura leaked from his body "accidentally," washing over the officers like a tidal wave. The pressure was immense, far beyond anything they had ever felt. It was as though a towering mountain had slammed down on their shoulders, squeezing the air from their lungs. They struggled to breathe and their bodies trembling under the weight of the terrifying force.

Fortunately, just as quickly as it had come, the suffocating aura vanished, leaving the room eerily silent. The officers took a deep breath of relief before blinking in disbelief. Their faces were pale with fright. Though the oppressive presence was gone, that lingering fear they felt earlier gnawed at their nerves.

For a moment, they couldn’t move. Each of them felt as if their very lives had hung in the balance for those few seconds. Had Emrys continued to release his aura, they were certain their bodies would have shattered like fragile glass.

This was beyond terrifying. None of them had expected to face such a monstrous power.

What kind of monster is this person?

What kind of realm has his cultivation reached?

"Gentlemen," Emrys began, his voice calm but carrying an unmistakable edge. "I know why you’ve come here. Let me make something clear: I don’t want any trouble. If I’m troubled, I’m afraid none of you will see the light of the next day."

His gaze swept over the six Law Enforcement Officers, who stood frozen, still shaken by the overwhelming aura they had just felt. Their faces paled as his words sunk deep into their hearts, frightening them even more.

"You should go back as silently as you’ve come," Emrys added, his tone soft but filled with warning. "How about it?"

The officers exchanged nervous glances. They had come prepared to arrest him, but now, all their confidence had evaporated. The fear from moments ago still clung to them like a shadow. None of them wanted to provoke him further.

One of the officers, the leader of the group, managed to stammer out, "W-We don’t want any unnecessary conflict, either."

They all knew they were completely outmatched. Even if they tried to fight, it would be futile. The aura that Emrys had "accidentally" unleashed was proof enough of his terrifying strength.

After a brief silence, the leader nodded shakily. "We’ll go back and report to the Federation that the killer has run away. We’ll be going then."

Without another word, he exchanged glances with his colleagues who nodded at him in return. Then the officers turned and left in a hurry. Their steps were much quicker than when they had arrived.

Emrys didn’t do anything aside from watching them get away silently.

.....

The next day, Emrys stood in front of the grand Gale Pavilion Auction House, a massive structure known for hosting the most prestigious auctions in the Phoenix Cry Kingdom. In fact, the auctions hosted by the Gale Pavilion Auction House are famous throughout the Infinite Soul Star.

The entrance of the Gale Pavilion was crowded. There were simply too many people gathered here. At the very least, there should be more than a thousand individuals present here.

Everyone came from various cities and kingdoms from all around the Infinite Soul Star.

Shortly after, Emrys met Andrea, Laura, and Caruso. They greeted each other, exchanging a few brief words before moving towards the entrance together.

The entrance was guarded by three powerful Freezing Moon Soul Masters.

Before they could enter the Gale Pavilion, they had to show their invitations to these Freezing Moon Soul Masters. These guards were dressed in official uniforms. Caruso was the one holding the invitation. He took it out and gave it to one of the three Freezing Moon Soul Masters.

That guard examined the invitation carefully before stepping aside to let them in.

Of course, before letting them in, he gave Caruso, the holder of the invitation, a device. This device was more like a Handheld Gaming Console. Through this device, a person could bid for the items being auctioned.

As soon as the group stepped inside the Gale Pavilion Auction House, they were shocked by the sight before them. Unlike the exteriors, the interior looked like something that came out of a pure sci-fi world. The walls were sleek and metallic, glowing softly with pulsing lights that lined the edges, giving the entire place a futuristic atmosphere.

Holographic displays floated in the air, showing various items up for auction, while transparent panels hovered, displaying auction rules and procedures. The ceiling was high and curved, with intricate patterns that seemed to shift and change, as if the building itself was alive.

Robotic attendants moved around efficiently, assisting guests and guiding them to their seats. The auction stage in the center was made of gleaming metal, with a high-tech podium surrounded by energy shields that flickered with a faint hum.

Andrea, Laura, Caruso, and Emrys stood for a moment.

"This place... it’s like we’ve stepped into another world," Andrea whispered in a low voice. He was totally in awe.

Robotic attendants came to greet the four of them and asked for their personal IDs and the invitation card.

Caruso showed the invitation card while everyone took out their IDs. Emrys was no exception.

"The auction will start in one hour. You can look around and browse through the items that are going to be auctioned today. Every item is listed with their details. When the auction starts, you can bid for the item through the Bidding Device by increasing the amount."

The robotic attendant gave a few more instructions before leading them to the second floor which was filled with hundreds of small compartments. Each compartment had a mix of alphabetical and numerical numbers.

The compartment where the robotic attendant led was marked as "AX303".

"This is your compartment. You can browse the items inside as well." The robotic attendant said, "Now if you excuse me!"

The robotic attendant behaved just like a human would, astonishing Emrys greatly.

After the robotic attendant left, the four of them entered the compartment. There was a big sofa inside the compartment, a center table, and two comfortable chairs. There was a huge screen on the wall facing the sofa. The auction stage was being displayed on the huge screen.

There was also a 30-inch touch display nearby, allowing visitors to browse the auction items in detail. The sleek interactive screen lit up as Emrys approached it, immediately catching his attention. With a simple swipe, he began scrolling through the list of rare treasures and artifacts that were up for auction.

Andrea, Laura, and Caruso, curious about the items, also gathered around the display. Each time Emrys tapped on an item, a holographic image of it appeared above the screen, spinning slowly to give a full view. Details like the item’s origin, abilities, and starting price were listed next to the hologram.

As Emrys was browsing, he stopped on an item.

Andrea frowned and instinctively pointed at that item. It was a crystal orb filled with swirling mist.

"Ethereal Soul Core: A Soul Orb containing traces of Soul Essence. It is perfect for advancing soul cultivation."

The group quietly examined the orb, their eyes glimmering with excitement.

Emrys was also stunned when he noticed the word "Soul Essence" but then he moved his gaze away, swiping to see another item.

The so-called Ethereal Soul Core only contained traces of Soul Essence, while he already has drops of Soul Essence in his possession. There is no need for him to be greedy about this item that doesn’t hold much value to him.

He was looking for a distinct item, different from the rest. After all, only such an item could have caught Elysia’s attention, that she told him to participate in the auction.

While Emrys was browsing through the list, his gaze landed on an item that immediately stood out. It was an oval-shaped object that was completely white and smooth. Unlike the other items that had detailed descriptions and origins, this one was simply marked as an "Unknown Item."

Emrys was intrigued and tapped on the image, and a short paragraph appeared below it:

"This object was discovered in the depths of an ancient ruin. Its origin, purpose, and abilities are unknown. No one has been able to unlock its mysteries in hundreds of years since it was discovered. The energy it emits is faint but stable. Its owner used to be a Blazing Sun Soul Master. Unable to discover its uses, he put it for auction."

Emrys’s interest was piqued. The fact that even the owner and the auctioneer had no knowledge of the item’s true nature made it all the more mysterious. He had a feeling that this might be the item he was here for.

But still, since he was not sure, he continued to browse to look at other items.
