Chapter 193: Ch 193: Mysteroius Cavernous Space

As Emrys walked, the dense fog seemed to muffle all sounds. Even though Emrys could hear his own footsteps, they sounded distant and muted, as if they were coming from far away. The silence around him was almost eerie.

Bizarre enough, Emrys, who was unable to see his own hand properly, could make out some strange shapes and forms in the distance despite the thick fog. They looked like shadowy figures or strange twisted trees, but he wasn’t sure. The shapes seemed to appear and disappear as the fog shifted, creating an ever-changing mystery that brought uncertainty to his heart.

He continued to walk for an unknown period of time. Maybe a day passed, or maybe a month.

All of a sudden, Emrys noticed that the fog began to glow with a soft ethereal light. It wasn’t a harsh light but a gentle pulsing glow that changed color from blue to purple to green to red to grey, and more. This glow was ever-changing. The light seemed to come from within the fog itself, adding to the surreal atmosphere of the place. It was beautiful yet unsettling.

"What is that?"

Emrys immediately became highly alert. This was an unknown, and an unknown could be life-threatening.

There are still many things Emrys wants to do. He couldn’t afford to die just yet.

However, he didn’t know what to do in his present situation. He can only continue to walk.

While walking cautiously, Emrys soon came across a large ancient-looking stone archway that was partially obscured by the fog.

Emrys took a closer look and discovered that the archway was covered in intricate carvings that seemed to shimmer with the same soft light as the fog. The carvings depicted strange symbols and scenes that Emrys couldn’t quite understand. They looked like they were from a time long forgotten, telling stories of beings and events that were completely foreign to him.

"What are these?"

Although Emrys failed to understand these carvings, he was still attracted to them. Something within him was telling him that if he could understand these carvings, he might end up obtaining something very beneficial for his cultivation journey ahead.

Taking a deep breath, Emrys slowly approached the archway.

As he approached the archway, he suddenly felt a strange sensation. It was as if the archway was drawing him in, calling him, beckoning him to pass through.

Emrys was stunned. This call directly affected his heart and mind. He could not help but approach the archway, only to stop abruptly. He started hesitating.

What if he encounters danger?

What if the previous callings were from soul-bewitching demons?

Emrys may have never seen a Soul-bewitching demon, he had heard of them. These demons were capable of bewitching the soul of living, attracting them, and luring them over only to kill them in the end.

Emrys hesitated for a moment. He could not make sure whether he should continue stepping forward or change the path.

In the end, curiosity got the better of him.

Taking a deep breath, Emrys stepped through the archway, and the moment he did, the fog around him thickened and became even more dense. The shadows Emrys had seen previously, including the archway, everything disappeared as if they were never there to begin with.

On the other side of the archway, Emrys found himself in a vast cavernous space that was even more bizarre than before. This space appeared to be enormous, with a ceiling that seemed to stretch infinitely above him. Strange enough, bioluminescent plants grew along the walls of the cavern. Their light cast eerie shadows that danced and flickered.

The air was filled with a sweet fragrance that made Emrys feel both calm and alert. He noticed that the plants emitted a soft humming sound, creating a soothing background. The sound seemed to resonate with his own heartbeat.

"What is this feeling?"

Emrys placed his hand on his heart and carefully tried to sense his own heartbeat which seemed to be beating with a weird rhythm.

Unfortunately, he was unable to understand anything, and could only look around the cavernous space again.

In the center of the cavern, there was a large pool full of crystal-clear water. The water was perfectly still, reflecting the glowing light of the plants and creating a mesmerizing shimmering effect. As Emrys approached the pool, he saw that there were strange floating lights just below the surface, moving in intricate patterns that appeared to be similar to the patterns he had seen on the archway outside.

Emrys reached out to touch the water, and as his fingers touched the surface, a change suddenly occurred.

The pool began to ripple and swirl.

"What are those symbols?"

Emrys eyes somehow pierced through the water and landed at the depth of the pool where he saw strange ancient symbols etched into the bottom. These symbols seemed to glow with an inner light, and as Emrys focused on them, he felt a surge of energy and mysterious understanding flow through him.

Everything happened too quickly. Not long after he saw those ancient symbols, he felt dizzy and his consciousness seemed to have left his body.

Emrys fainted without being able to struggle. In fact, even a second before fainting, he didn’t know he was going to lose consciousness. He was on high alert all the time but failed to react when something truly happened.

At first, Emrys was only touching the water of the pool, but as he lost consciousness, his body fell into the pool. He started sinking.

Strangely, he didn’t seem to be short on breath or suffocating due to water. It was as if the crystal-clear water had intelligence and spirituality, a bubble suddenly formed around Emrys out of nowhere. This bubble not only supported Emrys’s body and let him sink to the bottom of the pool slowly, but it also provided clean air for him to breathe.

It has to be known that Emrys was able to see the bottom of the pool earlier. It means the pool shouldn’t be too deep.

However, Emrys continued to sink for more than half an hour but he still had to reach the bottom.

Everything was too bizarre and weird.
