Chapter 191: Ch 191: One Year (1)

"What is this place?"

Emrys opened his eyes and looked around, only to see dense fog everywhere. In this dense fog, he could not even see his own hand clearly.

It has to be known that the current Emrys was at least a hundred times more powerful than a year ago, the time when he walked out of the light door and went to the border to hunt Soul Beasts.

Yes, it has been a year.

After entering the border, Emrys’s first target was the lake. It is also because this lake was the only place he knew housed Soul Beasts. He looked inside, searched around, and selectively killed a few Soul Beasts. These Soul Beasts included Ordinary and Bronze-ranked Soul Beasts, as well as Purple Crystal Soul Beasts, and Freezing Moon Soul Beasts.

The Purple Crystal Soul Beast and Freezing Moon Soul Beasts were only equivalent to Seventh Step and Eighth Step Beasts, respectively. As for the Burning Sun Soul Beast, which would be equivalent to a Ninth Step Beast, there were none in the lake. The only creature of such power was the Scaled Lungfish, and Emrys had already obtained its Soul Orb.

The first thing Emrys did after obtaining these Soul Orbs was to nurture his second Soul Mark. Then he also used the three different attributed energies to temper his own body. In the process, three more whirlpools appeared inside his Mystic Energy Core. These three whirlpools represented Dark Energy, Cursed Energy, as well as Abyssal Energy.

Most importantly, he obtained a powerful body called Cursed Abyss Dark Body. Unlike the Space Body, this body didn’t have a level. Instead, there was a stage which marked this body as an "Initial" Awakening.

By the time he had accomplished all this, the three-month period had already passed. Emrys went to meet Mu Bailing, and after much persuasion—along with gifting her all the treasures he had obtained from the dead skeletons—he finally managed to acquire the Space Disk from her.

Emrys named it the Space Disk because of its ability to harness and manipulate space energy. Furthermore, this disk itself hides a shocking Space Power.

To obtain the disk, he even told Mu Bailing that she would only waste its potential. Only someone like him, with the power to manipulate Space Energy, could fully unlock its capabilities.

The disk was incredibly important to Mu Bailing, far more valuable to her than any treasure in the world. In the end, she agreed to give it to Emrys, but only after he promised her that one day, when he no longer needed it, he would return the disk to her.

In order to make sure, she told Emrys about herself as well as where to find her.

It was only then Emrys learned that Mu Bailing, Ye Yun, and all others he met had come from a Cosmic Field called Chaos. However, they were not true natives of Chaos, instead, they used to live in a Universe that existed within Chaos.

There are countless Universes in a Cosmic Field. The Universe she and others came from was under the command of "Wang Family" from Chaos.

She doesn’t know the entire process or the reason, but once in every million years, top geniuses of the universe were chosen by the Wang Family to enter this world to compete for obtaining the Cosmic Inheritance.

As for what happens to those who successfully obtain Cosmic Inheritance, they were taken to Chaos by the Wang Family. Only by obtaining Cosmic Inheritance and walking the path of the Cosmic Cultivation System could one be qualified to leave the universe. It is also the ultimate dream of all the top geniuses and experts in the universe.

During the three-month period, Mu Bailing not only fully recovered and gained even more powerful strength, but she also obtained a Cosmic Inheritance. This meant that she was now qualified to leave the universe and enter the Chaos.

Before parting ways, Mu Bailing asked Emrys to find her in the Wang Family when he no longer needed the Space Disk. She left behind her bloodline imprint on a token and gave it to Emrys, explaining that the token would guide him to her as long as they were within a billion miles of each other.

Emrys was very confused but no longer asked anything and let Mu Bailing leave. He believed all his doubts would be cleared sooner or later. There is no need to hurry.

A few days later, he returned to the Warship where Radcliffe made him enter a pool full of blue liquid. This blue liquid contained a shocking amount of pure Soul Force.

Emrys spent three months completely absorbing the Soul Force from the pool, but to his and Radcliffe’s surprise, his cultivation only advanced to the level of a Burning Sun Soul Master. Radcliffe was greatly shocked by this outcome; he had never expected Emrys to level up only twice after absorbing an entire pool of Soul Force, which should have been enough to elevate a newborn child’s soul to the strength of a Glowing Red Star Soul Master.

What Radcliffe didn’t realize was that Emrys’s consumption of Soul Force was immense, and his increase in strength was slow due to several factors. First, Emrys wasn’t just strengthening his soul—his Soul Cultivation was also advancing. Secondly, Emrys possessed a Hybrid Soul, made up of three different souls. Two of these were exceptionally powerful: his own and a foreign soul. Strengthening such a complex soul requires more than three times or maybe even ten times the amount of resources compared to an ordinary person.

There were also other reasons such as his soul marks and soul spirits. The later stages of the Soul Cultivation System were not as simple as just increasing in Soul Force and expansion of Soul River. Even their Soul Spirits go through a qualitative change.

Now, Emrys could summon his Soul Spirits to fight alongside.

Moreover, Emrys’s Aura of Brilliance also expanded rapidly, now reaching a range of approximately a thousand meters in radius.

Emrys was worried that the resources in Radcliffe’s hand had already been used up completely, but he was worried for nothing.

Radcliffe once again constructed a pool of the same size and filled it with a blue liquid brimming with pure Soul Force. This amount should have been sufficient to raise Emrys’s cultivation to at least the level of a Glowing Red Star Soul Master, or perhaps even higher.
