Chapter 164: Ch 164: Nurturing The Soul Marks (1)
Four days ago...
Emrys sat inside a dark cave, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of hundreds of Soul Beasts. These were no ordinary fish or cosmic beasts but Soul Beasts, ranging in strength and value. Among them were several Silver Soul Beasts, Secret Silver Soul Beasts, Gold Soul Beasts, and even Brilliant Gold Soul Beasts.
In terms of Cosmic Cultivation, the most powerful of these were two Sixth Step Soul Beasts equivalent to Brilliant Gold Soul Beasts. There were also about ten Fifth Step Soul Beasts, thirty Fourth Step Beasts, and the rest were Third Step Soul Beasts.
Emrys had acquired a tremendous fortune from these Soul Beasts. He carefully extracted their Soul Orbs, collecting hundreds of orbs suitable for Soul Masters, from Silver Soul Masters to Brilliant Gold Soul Masters. He also harvested a lot of Soul Points from the corpses.
A fact worth mentioning is that none of these beasts had been killed by Emrys himself. They had all been poisoned to death by the Abyssal, leaving their valuable remnants for him to collect.
Soul Force Extraction was a marvelous ability Emrys obtained from the Soulforge Prism Orb. But there are rules for the extraction of Soul Points. He can only extract 10 Soul Points worth of Soul Force from a Soul Beast below Bronze Level, 100 Soul Points from Bronze Soul Beasts, 1,000 Soul Points from Silver Soul Beasts, 10,000 Soul Points from Secret Silver Soul Beasts, 100,000 Soul Points from Gold Soul Beasts, and 1 million Soul Points from Brilliant Gold Soul Beasts.
There were more than a hundred corpses of Silver Soul Beasts and Emrys extracted 125,000 Soul Points from them. Then he extracted 300,000 Soul Points from thirty Secret Silver Soul Beasts, 1 million Soul Points from the ten corpses of Gold Soul Beasts, and 2 million Soul Points from the two corpses of Brilliant Gold Soul Beasts.
In total, he obtained 3.425 Million Soul Points.
Considering that Emrys already had 143,000 Soul Points after performing Soul Force Extraction on Zhu Yan, Hao Lin, and Hao Ying, he now had a total of 3.568 Million Soul Points.
Emrys immediately looked at his information panel.

Emrys felt a tinge of regret that he could only access information about his Soul Cultivation and not his Cosmic Cultivation. However, he didn’t dwell on it, as it was not a significant concern at the moment.
Now, it was time to nurture his Soul Marks.
He retrieved a Master-ranked Purple Soul Orb from his collection, which he had extracted from the corpse of a Secret Silver Soul Beast. Notably, all the Soul Orbs produced by these beasts were either Master-ranked or higher; none were below this rank. This abundance of high-quality Soul Orbs presented a valuable opportunity for Emrys to nurture his Soul Marks without spending too many Soul Points.
When it comes to cultivation, taking one step at a time is crucial for steady progress and avoiding pitfalls. That’s why, he could not directly take out a higher-ranked Soul Orb to nurture his Soul Mark.
Since he had only nurtured his Soul Mark using a Mythical-ranked Blue Soul Orb, it was time to use the Purple-ranked Soul Orb.
When it comes to Purple-ranked Soul Orbs, evolving them needed ten times more Soul Points than evolving Blue Soul Orbs.
Ordinary to Elite → 10,000 Soul Points.
Elite to Master → 20,000 Soul Points.
Master to Epic → 40,000 Soul Points.
Epic to Legendary → 80,000 Soul Points.
Legendary to Mythical → 160,000 Soul Points.
Emrys spent 280,000 Soul Points to evolve the Master-ranked Purple Soul Orb to the Mythical-ranked Purple Soul Orb. Then he used this Soul Orb to nurture his first Soul Mark, the Walker of the Blue Sky.
.....
[Soul Mark: Walker Of Blue Sky (Mortal).

Attribute: Space.
Talent: 30% increase in power when using space skills.
Origin Skill: Node Shift (First Glimpse), Spatial Blade (Foundational).]
.....
After nurturing his Soul Mark with the Mythical-ranked Purple Soul Orb, Emrys experienced a significant boost in both the quality of his Soul Mark and his mastery over his Origin Skills. His Soul Mark’s quality upgraded from Blue to Purple, indicating a notable increase in power and potential.
The most immediate improvement was in his Origin Skill, "Node Shift", which advanced from the "Proficient" level to "First Glimpse". As a result, a wealth of new, comprehensive information flooded Emrys’s mind. He discovered that not only had the range of Node Shift doubled from 500 meters to 1,000 meters, but he could now utilize the ability for more than just repositioning himself.
Emrys can now move objects from one node to another, regardless of their size, as long as they fit within the node’s capacity.
Let’s take a small rock as an example. If it is within the range of 1,000 meters, Emrys can directly shift the rock along with the node, taking it away without going there personally to do the job.
However, there were still a lot of limitations. He can move an object that covers only one node. If an object is big enough to cover two or more nodes, he can’t move those objects. It might be because the ability’s mastery is still low. However, the First Glimpse still increased the potential of Node Shift ability by more than ten times.
Other than the first limitation, the second limitation was that he couldn’t control what object to move. If there is a cluster of rocks instead of only one rock in a node, when Emrys takes action, the entire cluster will move instead of just one rock. He can’t select only one rock to move from one position to another.
Finally, the third limitation was that he couldn’t move the object silently. When using Node Shift to move an object from one node to another, spatial fluctuation will be produced that might be detected by a powerful creature or opponent within the range of Node Shift ability.
