Chapter 122: Ch 122: Mu Bailing’s Sorrow

Mu Bailing woke up and slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was a young man sitting nearby with his eyes closed.

She sat up and looked around, realizing she was inside the cave.

A confused expression appeared on her face as her memories were blurry. When they started to clear up, her expression changed drastically.

She remembered drowning in the pond filled with dark water contaminated by dense Death Energy. The Death Energy had invaded her body and devoured her life force, and it had also invaded Emrys’s body. Most importantly, Emrys had been heavily injured and unconscious at that time.

But now, Emrys was sitting not far from her and appeared to be fine. As for herself, although all her injuries were healed and no traces of Death Energy could be found inside her body, she felt incredibly weak. Looking at her hands and the rest of her body, she could tell she had aged a lot.

She touched her face and felt wrinkles. For a young lady in her prime, it was a terrifying realization. She looked at her once-dark hair, now turned white.

Mu Bailing felt her heart pound with fear. Her breathing became fast and shallow, and tears started to fill her eyes. She kept looking at her white hair in disbelief, finally shaking her head as if to deny what she was seeing. Her hands trembled, and she felt a wave of panic wash over her.

Her body now seemed frail and aged, starkly different from the youthful body she once knew. This aged body symbolized years she hadn’t lived. Her breath started quickening as she struggled to control her rising fear.

"No, this can’t be happening," she whispered, her voice shaky and filled with despair. The more she looked at herself, the more frightened she became. Her emotions were all over the place. Fear, sadness, and confusion mixed together inside her heart and mind. She felt like she was going to break down, unable to handle the shock of what had happened to her.

Her emotions swung wildly. Fear turned to anger, anger to despair, despair to loss. She felt an overwhelming sense of loss, as if an important part of her had been stolen. She wanted to scream, to cry out for help, but no words came out of her mouth. Instead, she sat there, silently sobbing, her body shaking with each breath.

Emrys heard the sobbing sound and opened his eyes, but did not disturb Mu Bailing. He can understand what she is going through but cannot imagine her heart’s condition. The best he can do is to leave her in her current condition.

After a long while, when Mu Bailing calmed down a little, Emrys thought of something and said, "Don’t worry, there must be a way to restore your vitality and increase your lifespan. We just have to find that way."

Back in the Infinite Soul Star, there are more than a few methods to restore vitality or increase a person’s lifespan. There are herbs, potions, spiritual fruits, and more.

However, he was not sure if he could find something like that in this space.

In fact, back in Mu Bailing’s words, there are also treasures available that can help regain her lost years. It is just that finding those treasures is not easy. Moreover, the loss was too great for her to accept the reality.

She raised her head and looked at Emrys with blame in her eyes. For a moment, she wanted to pour out her anger on Emrys, blaming him for her current condition. But she chose not to do so. She knew that she could not blame Emrys. Emrys never told or forced her, it was her decision to help Emrys. She didn’t know that helping Emrys would result in such a great loss of her vitality.

Seeing her like this, Emrys shook his head silently and then asked, "You know about this space more than I know. If you have any idea about a treasure that can restore your vitality and is available in this spatial zone, tell me. I will find it for you!"

Mu Bailing did not say anything. She remained silent for a long time.

After a while, she finally spoke in a shaking voice, "You should know that we are inside a huge Mountain Range. This Mountain Range is so big that covering it entirely in a short period is impossible. It might take more than a year just to pass through the Mountain Range."

Emrys nodded his head. When he appeared inside this spatial zone, the place he appeared was not far from a petrified forest. After he crossed the petrified forest, he saw a huge mountain range. The dark forest dominated by red creatures was located at the outer perimeter of this mountain range.

He still remembers that the towering mountain range was entrenched so much that he could not see the end of it. Moreover, there was a tall pillar standing on top of each mountain peak. Connecting each pillar was a huge burning red chain bridge. These pillars were mysterious and can be seen from afar.

Emrys doesn’t know what Mu Bailing wants to say, but he refrained from disturbing her.

Mu Bailing, seeing Emrys nodding his head, continued to speak, "I don’t know where this cave is located but we surely are still at the outer region of the Mountain Range, far from entering the inner region. In the south, outside the Mountain Range, there is a petrified forest."

Emrys: "..."

He did not expect Mu Bailing to speak about the petrified forest. He was startled for a moment.

Mu Bailing didn’t notice any unusualness about Emrys. Her heart was already in turmoil after all. She continued, "Rumor is that hidden within the petrified forest is a secret space where strange creatures live. These creatures can be recognized by the green flame burning around their neck and strange swirling green symbols on their bodies. No one knows their names, but they are dangerous creatures."

Greenflame Beasts!

Emrys immediately recalled the first creature he saw after arriving in this hellish spatial zone. The Greenflame Beast was the name he gave to those creatures.
