Chapter 119: Ch 119: Inheritance Ground

The Realm of Despair!

This was the first time Emrys heard these words, however, he could tell that the old man directed his words to this world he was in. According to the old man, this hellish world was just a fragment of the Realm of Despair.

Questions appeared in his mind one after another.

What is the Realm of Despair?

If this world is just a fragment, then what kind of world the Realm of Despair used to be?

Why is it called the Realm of Despair?

You actually changed this forbidden place into an ordinary pond by devouring every bit of death energy."

"However," The old man stopped, looked at Emrys who was curiously listening to his words and began to speak again, "This pond is not simple. There is a secret space below your feet. Inside that space is an inheritance ground. If you can obtain that inheritance, then you are guaranteed to cultivate in the Cosmic Cultivation System. However, if you fail, you will die!"

A secret inheritance ground?

Emrys’s attention was successfully captured by the old man. He started to observe the white land below his feet. The white land was not actually white, it was white due to a desert of bone powders of millions of creatures.

An excited expression appeared in Emrys’s eyes, but he suddenly regained his senses and frowned. Looking at the old man again, he asked, "Why are you telling me all this? What do you want from me?"

The old man shook his head, "Do you think I want something from you?"

"Well, you are right. I do want something from you. However, you are not strong enough yet. First, climb all twelve steps to build a strong foundation, and then come back to this place. At that time, I will help you enter the inheritance ground by opening the secret space, and also tell you will help me retrieve something. It is an equal exchange, that’s all!"

This was an unknown world. This old man was an unknown person.

If it was before, Emrys would have thought that the old man was plotting something, but now, he somehow trusted the old man’s world.

If the old man had told him to enter the inheritance ground now, Emrys would definitely not have trusted him. However, the old man said that Emrys is not strong enough yet. Immediately after that, the dark river also surged with dark mist.

Although the Soul River and the Dark River both exist parallel to each other in the Sea of Emrys’s consciousness, they are vastly different.

Dark River doesn’t have an ounce of Soul Force, but it still responded to the Sacred Soul Purification Technique for some reason and surged with dark mist.

Emrys frowned at first, but as time passed, he gradually realized that the reason behind the Dark River’s surging was his Soul River. Both rivers existed parallel to each other, and an invisible connection had already been formed between them.

A few hours later, Emrys stopped circulating the Sacred Soul Purification Technique. By then, the Soul Force within his Soul River had compressed significantly, and their quality had doubled at the very least.

The Dark River, linked to the Soul River, also underwent a qualitative transformation. The dark mist within it grew more mysterious and profound in the darkest way.

Emrys opened his eyes again and inspected his body for a moment before turning his attention to two orbs floating within his Sea of Consciousness. One orb was blue, positioned at the center of the Soul River. The other orb was dark, floating at the center of the Dark River.

Clearly, these two orbs represented Emrys’s two Soul Marks: the Void Phoenix and the Eternal Abyss Cursed Dragon.

Emrys took a deeper look at the dark orb. His gaze seems to pierce through the outer layers of the orb, going inside. Inside the orb was a world filled with darkness, abyss-like terrains, and a cursed atmosphere.

Emrys could see the Eternal Abyss Cursed Dragon sleeping on top of a mountain.
