Chapter 101: Ch 101: A Bad Situation

Emrys executed his origin skill and vanished. In the next moment, he reappeared right in front of two Mysterious Sky Fruits.

Everyone was preoccupied, either battling each other or watching the two strongest individuals going after fruits once again. No one noticed Emrys’s sudden appearance.

Seizing the opportunity, Emrys swiftly grabbed both fruits before disappearing again. He reappeared at his original spot, standing beside Mu Bailing and Jing Jun.

Even Mu Bailing and Jing Jun were so much absorbed in the fierce struggle for the Mysterious Sky Fruits that they failed to notice Emrys’s brief disappearance and return. It all happened too quickly.

Although Emrys successfully obtained two Mysterious Sky Fruits, he was now in a dilemma. His backpack was no longer with him, and he had nothing to conceal the fruits. If he held onto them openly, they would be noticed sooner or later.

What should he do?

Emrys quickly surveyed his surroundings, searching for a solution. He needed a way to hide the fruits without drawing attention to himself.

Suddenly, something sparked in his mind. He silently communicated with Soul Mark, Lord of the Cursed Void. Immediately, the dark mist from the Dark River surged. It was stirred by an invisible force.

Slowly, dark mist oozed out of Emrys’s hand and gathered on the surface of the Mysterious Sky Fruit. The dark mist did not fuse or enter the fruits, it just gathered on the fruits’ surface and temporarily altered their appearance.

To anyone else, it would seem as though Emrys was merely holding a couple of dark fruits instead of Mysterious Sky Fruits that were bright and filled with holy aura. In fact, the fruits now looked somewhat hideous.

With the fruits now camouflaged, Emrys could easily blend back into the crowd without raising suspicion. He would need to find a safe place to stash them later, but for now, this would keep the fruits hidden from prying eyes.

Emrys started to watch the battle lazily after that. The battle continued for more than two hours, and Ye Yun was finally able to secure one of the fruits.

As for the two strongest people, they were unable to take away another two fruits because the instant they reached near the fruits and tried to pick them up, they were faced with a fierce retaliation from the combination of hundreds of people.

Although the two of them were the strongest, they were not powerful enough to withstand combined attacks from so many people. In the end, they had no choice but to back off. They tried a few more times but ultimately had to completely retreat from the Mysterious Sky Tree.

Ye Yun, after securing one of the fruits, also faced attacks from hundreds of people. He appeared to be the weakest of them all, so no one hesitated before attacking him. In their eyes, Ye Yun was easy prey they could kill anytime they wanted.

He was heavily injured and was left with no energy to continue battling. At first, he thought he would be safe as long as he could leave the Mysterious Sky Tree. Unfortunately, he was wrong.

A thin young man shook his head and suggested, "Why don’t we rely on our abilities? The fruit should go to whoever has the strength to claim it. Simple!"

"You are right, let’s do it!"

Everyone turned their eyes to Ye Yun. In their view, he was a lamb ready for slaughter.

"You... You guys..."

Ye Yun pointed at them in fury. He never expected these people to be so despicable and hateful. They wanted to take advantage of his condition and rob him of the Mysterious Sky Fruit that he obtained after going through a tough battle and suffering heavy injuries.

Emrys shook his head. He could tell that Ye Yun might be the first one but he will not be the last one. These people will target every person who is heavily injured but manages to secure a Mysterious Sky Fruit.

Mu Bailing became anxious. She also did not expect these people to suddenly show their true colors.

The ancient saying is true. A human’s greed knows no bounds. They forget morality and humanity in their relentless pursuit of wealth and power.

The Mysterious Sky Fruit is a treasure that can bring them both wealth and power. Wealth if they sold the fruit and power if they swallowed the fruit.

Mu Bailing’s words made Emrys realize something important. He had already displayed his strength once, and if he didn’t help Ye Yun now, he would appear detestable and loathsome in Mu Bailing’s eyes. Although he didn’t care much about her opinion, he knew it was only right to help Ye Yun, considering he owed him a favor.

Not to mention, he was powerful enough to easily dominate the crowd. Why should he fear them?

Since no one here could match him in strength, exposing his power a little wouldn’t be a problem.

Thinking for a second, Emrys said, "Come with me!"

With that, he started walking toward Ye Yun.

Mu Bailing was startled at first, but she hurriedly followed Ye Yun, thinking that Emrys was planning to save him.

Someone shouted at Emrys when he passed by a person. The person probably assumed Emrys was approaching Ye Yun to take the Mysterious Sky Fruit.
