Chapter 283 282
Chapter 283 282
With the appearance of the door of light, the endless darkness that had once covered this place was finally lifted. The reflection of the captain within the enormous eyeball let out a quiet sigh as her form rapidly began to dissipate like dust scattered by the wind.
Moments later, she reappeared outside the eyeball. However, her body had become extremely faint and translucent. She resembled nothing more than a wandering ghost.
"Are you ready?" the captain asked softly as she gazed at the door shining with resplendent light.
Grey smiled faintly, while Roxanne gave a silent nod.
Without another word, the captain's transparent figure flew forward and headed straight toward the door of light. Grey and Roxanne followed closely behind.
But as they drew nearer to the towering door, which stood several feet tall and radiated an almost sacred brilliance, both of them couldn't help but feel a faint sense of fear rise in their hearts.
The captain's transparent body suddenly passed through the door of light and vanished.
Roxanne and Grey exchanged a brief glance before stepping forward as well.
The moment they entered the door of light, Grey did not feel anything strange or unusual. Even though this door likely led them somewhere extremely close to the subconsciousness of a Soul Ascendancy realm expert, the door itself did not emit the slightest pressure.
It felt… ordinary.
As if it were nothing more than a simple doorway.
However, the scene that greeted their eyes the moment they stepped through was anything but ordinary.
What appeared before them was a completely red world.
The entire sky above was dyed in a deep crimson hue, as if the heavens themselves had been soaked in blood.
Suspended high in the sky were six blazing suns.
Each sun shone with a different brilliance, emitting lights of different colors that illuminated every corner of this strange world.
Their radiance poured down endlessly, bathing the land beneath them in an eerie and overwhelming glow.
The moment Grey and Roxanne fully stepped through, the door of light behind them slowly closed before eventually disappearing without a trace.
Now that the captain was outside the eyeball, her already faint form had become even more unstable. Her body flickered slightly, and her face had grown pale like that of a ghost.
Yet despite her weakened state, her expression remained extremely solemn.
Right in front of them stood a massive palace constructed entirely from crystal lattices.
The crystalline structure reflected the light of the six suns above, causing dazzling rays of light to scatter in every direction.
The palace was unbelievably tall.
Nine enormous floors stacked upon one another, each towering like a mountain of crystal.
But the most shocking sight was what rested upon the very top of the palace.
A head.
A massive head.
The head possessed six eyes, but at this moment only two of them were open.
Long strands of hair hung loosely over its face, partially covering its features.
However, the moment Grey and Roxanne saw that face, their hearts trembled violently.
Because that face… was exactly the same as the enormous head that dominated the sky of this red world.
They were identical.
The only difference was their size.
One was unimaginably massive, like a celestial entity watching over the world.
The other, though still enormous, was much smaller in comparison.
The moment Grey and Roxanne saw the head, their expressions instantly turned pale.
Even though the entity was extremely far away, simply existing within the presence of a Late Soul Ascendancy realm expert was enough to shake their souls.
The difference between them was so vast that it felt like the gap between ants and a god.
At any moment, they felt as though their souls could be crushed by the overwhelming pressure.
The captain's expression also became pale, but she gritted her teeth and forced herself to speak.
"We are finally here," she said with difficulty.
"This place… is the subconsciousness of a Late Soul Ascendancy realm expert. Although its power here is greatly weakened and cannot compare to its strength in the outside world… it is still unimaginably terrifying."
However, the moment the captain finished speaking, the massive head suddenly turned.
The moment those eyes locked onto Grey, his soul trembled violently.
It felt as if an ancient god had suddenly gazed upon him from across endless time.
Even his three Spirit Fires flickered faintly, as though they were instinctively afraid.
Its two opened eyes locked directly onto them.
In an instant,
Two beams of light shot down from the sky like divine judgment.
But Grey, Roxanne, and the captain had already prepared themselves. The moment the head moved, all three of them immediately scattered and abandoned their positions.
Before entering this place, they had already known that the danger would be extreme.
If they were even slightly careless, they could die instantly.
Thus, the moment the head noticed them, all three of them moved without hesitation.
Grey immediately circulated his Spirit Power and activated his Mystic Brilliance Form.
Three balls of Spirit Fire suddenly appeared around his body and began revolving around him like blazing stars.
The first two flames burned fiercely, releasing intense waves of scorching heat that distorted the surrounding air.
But the third Spirit Fire was completely different.
It released a dense and chilling cold aura that spread outward like creeping frost.
Combined with his incredible speed and the small amount of comprehension he had gained from the Wind Monarch, Grey's body instantly blurred.
In the blink of an eye, he had already retreated several thousand feet away.
Yet even after retreating such a vast distance, Grey suddenly coughed out a large mouthful of blood.
At that moment, from within the two beams of light that had fallen from the sky, a figure slowly emerged.
Although the figure was somewhat blurry, Grey could still make out his appearance.
It was a young man.
A young man with a strikingly handsome face.
His hair and eyes were both a deep shade of blue, and his entire disposition radiated a cold and domineering aura.
For some reason, the moment Grey saw him, he was reminded of Caster.
However, the aura this young man carried was far more oppressive.
The instant the figure fully appeared, he did not hesitate.
He immediately rushed forward.
His body shot across the sky like a streak of lightning and headed straight toward Grey.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared right in front of him. Then he ruthlessly punched forward.
Bang!
Grey was instantly flung several thousand feet backward while violently coughing up blood.
However, the young man did not stop.
Before Grey could even land on the ground, the figure appeared before him again as if teleporting through space.
Another punch descended.
Grey felt as if an enormous mountain had slammed directly into his body.
Several of his ribs shattered instantly.
His bones cracked violently as his three Spirit Fires trembled dangerously around him.
Blood sprayed from his mouth and nose as his vision blurred violently.
At that moment, three words echoed inside his mind.
'Spirit Core Formation...'
Grey's heart trembled.
The speed and power of this young man had already far surpassed what any Foundation Establishment realm cultivator could possibly achieve.
Even with the support of his three Spirit Fires, especially his outstanding Third Spirit Fire formed from the Cold Yin Core, he was still being completely suppressed.
Grey suddenly heard another loud bang in the distance.
When he forced his blurry eyes to look over, he saw Roxanne and the captain being violently flung away by another figure.
Grey's pupils shrank.
There were not just one…
But two enemies.
However, before Grey could even begin to think of a countermeasure, the young man appeared before him once again.
Another devastating blow landed.
Grey's body was sent hurtling backward like a broken rag doll.
Blood sprayed endlessly from his mouth as several more bones shattered under the impact.
In just three blows, Grey had already suffered severe injuries.
His breathing became ragged as pain surged through every part of his body.
His eyes twitched violently as realization struck him.
'This person's face resembles the giant head…'
'Moreover, he appeared after those two beams of light descended.'
'I am not his match…'
After only three attacks, Grey's body had already reached its limit.
Even his Mystic Brilliance Form had begun to show signs of suppression.
If not for the fact that his physical body was far tougher than most cultivators, he would have likely died from the very first strike.
Just as he was planning how to retaliate, the young man moved again like the speed of light. He was so fast that Grey's eyes could not keep up with him.
In a split second, Grey was ruthlessly punched. This time his body couldn't take it.
Many of his internal organs directly collapsed and exploded. His Spirit Fires were supressed and he coughed out another mouthful of blood.
However, the young man was not through. He moved like a phantom and raised his hand looking to cleave down on Grey.
