Chapter 421 421: 421
The pilot knew Lin Kuang was in a rush, so he pushed the helicopter to its maximum speed. Two hours later, the pilot finally reached the location Lin Kuang had designated, arriving just as it turned seven in the evening.
The helicopter descended slowly. When it was less than ten meters from the ground, Lin Kuang opened the cabin door and, without even using a rope, leaped out. As he neared the ground, he executed an acrobatic flip to break his fall, landing steadily on his feet.
The dense forest was dim, but it couldn't hinder Lin Kuang's vision. He scanned the area but saw no one, so he took out his phone and dialed Yang Ruoxi's number.
To his dismay, no one answered.
"Come on, come on... Answer the phone. Please, answer the phone," Lin Kuang repeated, a tinge of bloodshot red coloring his deep eyes.
But still, the phone remained unanswered.
Lin Kuang was at his wit's end, the fury in his heart threatening to burn him alive.
Chen Zhongrui, Chen Shaowen, if you dare do anything to Ruoxi, I will kill you both! he roared inwardly. He dialed her number again, forcing himself to calm down and listen intently. Just then, the faint sound of a vibration reached his ears.
A thought struck Lin Kuang, and he dashed toward the source of the sound. Within seconds, he found a phone lying on the ground. The screen was covered by dead leaves, making it nearly invisible at a glance.
Seeing the phone, Lin Kuang quickly picked it up. It was, without a doubt, Yang Ruoxi's. Her phone being here could only mean one thing: she had been taken.
At that thought, Lin Kuang was practically spitting fire. Still, he managed to restrain his rage and began searching the area. After only a minute or two, he spotted a patch of blood.
His gaze sharpened as he followed the trail. The bloodstains were sparse. He could only spot a single drop every ten meters or so. It looked as if they had been left intentionally.
Ruoxi, are you leaving me a trail? Wait for me, I'm coming! he roared in his heart. Executing the Willow Catkin Technique, he accelerated to his top speed and charged forward. As he sprinted, his view opened up, and he could see a Taoist temple in the distance.
Spotting the temple, Lin Kuang's focus intensified. Yang Ruoxi had mentioned that a temple master was also involved, and the trail of her blood led directly here. Clearly, this temple was the key. With that, Lin Kuang accelerated again, flitting through the trees like a swift breeze.
As he drew closer, he could hear faint sounds from within. Instead of charging straight in, Lin Kuang circled around to the back, leaping over the wall and into the temple's rear courtyard.
It was peaceful here, eerily quiet without a single Taoist in sight. Lin Kuang scanned his surroundings carefully. Not knowing where Yang Ruoxi was, he could only search aimlessly. As he sped along a path, honing his senses to their absolute limit, a Taoist who looked to be under thirty appeared before him.
Lin Kuang immediately ducked behind a wall, observing. The Taoist entered a nearby room, and Lin Kuang silently followed. The temple was an ancient structure, with its wooden window lattices covered in patterned paper. Reaching the window, Lin Kuang wet his fingertip with saliva and gently poked the paper. The moisture silently created a small hole.
Lin Kuang leaned in, peering through with one eye. The Taoist was changing his clothes. No one else was in the room.
Seeing his chance, Lin Kuang burst through the door and charged in.
The Taoist, in the middle of changing clothes, jumped in fright. In that instant, Lin Kuang was already upon him.
"Who are you?" the Taoist shouted, snapping into a Tai Chi stance, his gaze sharp and wary.
Lin Kuang couldn't be bothered with words. He simply threw a punch.
Seeing the deadly assault, the Taoist moved his palms, executing a Tai Chi technique and attempting to use a yielding force to redirect the fist. However, Lin Kuang was vastly more powerful. They weren't in the same league at all, and the man's attempt to redirect the blow was futile.
Lin Kuang's fist slammed squarely into the man's chest.
BANG.
The Taoist's body crashed against the wall behind him. Blood spewed from his mouth as he stared at Lin Kuang in utter horror.
Lin Kuang strode forward and seized the man by the throat, choking him until his face turned crimson.
"I'll ask you once. Where is the woman the Chen father and son brought back? Tell me the truth, and I'll spare your life. But if you dare to lie to me, I'll kill you right now!"
As he spoke, Lin Kuang tightened his grip, causing the Taoist to kick and squirm.
"I'll... I'll talk! Please... let me go," the Taoist gasped, his voice a hoarse whisper.
Lin Kuang threw him to the ground. "Quickly. I'm in a hurry," he said coolly.
"Okay, okay! I'll talk! The woman is with Chen Shaowen. They're in the second room of that row of houses up ahead," the Taoist stammered, his familiarity with the situation obvious.
"Where is Chen Zhongrui?" Lin Kuang demanded.
"Chen... Chen Zhongrui is with our Temple Master, Liu Daotong, in the room next to Chen Shaowen's," the Taoist added.
At these words, Lin Kuang nodded. "Consider yourself smart." He then delivered a fierce karate chop to the Taoist's neck, knocking him out cold.
Immediately after, Lin Kuang concealed his aura completely, moving out of the room like a ghost. He followed the directions the Taoist had given, moving with cautious speed. Just as before, he poked a small hole in the window paper and peered inside.
The moment he saw the scene within, Lin Kuang's eyes turned blood-red. The killing intent radiating from him was almost palpable, yet he managed to suppress it with immense effort.
Chen Shaowen, I will kill you! Today, no one can save you! Roaring furiously in his heart, he shattered the window and burst inside.
