Chapter 414 414 Willow Catkin Technique
Chapter 414 414 Willow Catkin Technique
The two men stood on the lawn, long swords in hand, their expressions calm. The next moment, Pei Yuandong doubled over. He planted his Dong Han sword into the earth, clutching his abdomen. Blood seeped from the wound, and his face grew even paler. Lin Kuang's clothes were also pierced over his abdomen, but his skin was untouched. In this battle, Lin Kuang had won.
Turning around, Lin Kuang's gaze fell on Pei Yuandong. He was an excellent opponent; Lin Kuang had to admit that. He approached Pei Yuandong and pressed a series of points on his body, sealing the wound to stop the bleeding.
"You can go," Lin Kuang said plainly.
Hearing this, Pei Yuandong struggled to his feet and turned to face Lin Kuang. "I lost. I am at your disposal," he said. His face was deathly pale, but his tone was exceptionally firm.
"That's not necessary," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "There's nothing I need you to do for me."
Pei Yuandong was slightly startled. Then, as if he had made a decision, he spoke. "I, Pei Yuandong, do not like to owe favors. I can see you're very strong, but you don't know a movement technique. This is the Willow Catkin Technique, the one I just used. It should be of help to you."
Saying this, Pei Yuandong took a small booklet from inside his robes. It was filled with his own handwriting, complete with annotations on the more complex parts. Without asking if Lin Kuang wanted it, he simply tossed the booklet to him. Afterward, he picked up the Dong Han from the ground and walked away, his steps still firm despite his injuries.
Watching Pei Yuandong's retreating back, Lin Kuang sighed softly. "Thank you."
"It's what I should do." Pei Yuandong paused for a moment before walking out the gate and disappearing from sight.
After Pei Yuandong left, Lin Kuang crouched down to staunch the bleeding from the wound on his calf. Then, he began to look through the booklet. As he read, his eyes filled with surprise. That surprise soon turned to admiration, and finally, to awe.
"This Pei Yuandong is really impressive," he murmured to himself, gazing at the gate. "I hope we have a chance to duel again someday!"
This Willow Catkin Technique looks truly useful. It can make me faster. With this, my strength will be elevated a few notches.
Lin Kuang mused, his mood improving considerably. Tucking the booklet into his pocket, he took out his phone and dialed Chen Feng of the Wumi Building. Before long, Chen Feng answered, his tone deeply respectful. "Hello, King of the Underworld."
"Help me investigate the origin of the Nameless Sword. It's a blade coveted by many Ancient Martial Arts families. Find out what secret it holds and why so many people want it," Lin Kuang said evenly.
Chen Feng was taken aback for a moment before hastily agreeing. "Alright, please rest assured, we will look into it as soon as possible."
"Mm. Any news about Mu Wan?" Lin Kuang asked again, a hint of excitement in his voice.
"No definitive information yet, but we will definitely have news about Mu Wan within five days," Chen Feng said confidently, a confidence born from the Wumi Building's immense power.
"Good. Get it done as fast as you can. Notify me as soon as you have an update," Lin Kuang said.
"Yes, I will," Chen Feng replied respectfully.
Lin Kuang nodded, said his goodbyes, and hung up the phone.
"Wan'er, if you're alive, why haven't you come looking for me? If you couldn't find me, why didn't you go to Yanjing? Or...are you being held captive? What has happened to you?" Lin Kuang murmured, looking up at the sky, his tone filled with an undeniable sadness.
Just then, the roar of an engine sounded from outside the manor. Lin Guo'er and Liu Shilin were back. Hearing the noise, Lin Kuang quickly looked away, a faint smile reappearing on his face. The car doors opened, and the two women stepped out. When they saw Lin Kuang standing on the lawn, smiles blossomed on their pretty faces.
"You're back," Liu Shilin said with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm back. I missed you both too much, so I had to come back," Lin Kuang said, beaming.
Hearing that, Lin Guo'er rolled her eyes at him. "Like hell I believe you."
"Lin Kuang, what… what happened to your leg?" Liu Shilin was about to say something else when she noticed his blood-stained trousers. The sight of the dark red blood made her extremely worried.
At her words, Lin Guo'er froze. Her beautiful eyes fell upon Lin Kuang's leg, and she immediately saw the injury. Her expression changed instantly.
"How did this happen?" Lin Guo'er asked, her face pale.
"I just had a little spar. It's fine now," Lin Kuang said with a reassuring smile, seeing their worried expressions. "Really, you don't need to worry. This wound will heal quickly. For now, just let me get inside so I can clean it."
Lin Guo'er nodded, quickly took out her keys, and unlocked the door. Liu Shilin, meanwhile, bolted upstairs, rushing so fast she forgot to take off her shoes. Lin Kuang was a little speechless; the two of them were overreacting. Still, he knew it was because they cared about him, and the feeling of being cared for was truly wonderful. Smiling to himself, he walked into the hall.
"You're still smiling? What's so funny?!" Lin Guo'er snapped irritably when she saw the grin on his face.
"I'm happy because I get to see you two," Lin Kuang laughed. He leaned in and planted a firm kiss on the corner of her lips, causing her cheeks to flush red as she glared sharply at him.
By the time Lin Kuang sat on the sofa, Liu Shilin had already returned with a first-aid kit. She took out disinfectant and cotton swabs.
"Take off your pants," Liu Shilin instructed.
"Uh, is that really appropriate? In broad daylight, right here? How embarrassing," Lin Kuang said, feigning shyness.
Hearing this, both Lin Guo'er and Liu Shilin stared at him, stunned, before glaring fiercely.
"You pervert! What are you thinking? You still have your mind in the gutter at a time like this, you jerk!" the two women roared, their faces bright red, which only made them look more charming.
Seeing their reactions, Lin Kuang couldn't help but chuckle. "Hey now, don't get so worked up. I was just teasing you. Look at those tempers. Fine, fine, I'll take off my pants, alright?"
With that, Lin Kuang unbuckled his belt and pulled down his trousers, revealing the bloody wound on his calf.
