Chapter 404: Picking Leaves Injures People
Lin Kuang took the lead, with Huo Feifei right behind him. Zhang Tianyou and Kang Cheng brought up the rear. The group of twenty headed directly for the Biochemical Research Institute located deep within the mountain range. Ten kilometers was an easy distance for them, but exercising caution, they kept their pace measured. It took them an hour to reach the location Sato Ichiro had described. The coordinates were vague, only indicating a general area, so Lin Kuang's team wasn't sure of the exact location.
At that moment, Lin Kuang raised his hand, and the group immediately slowed down. The twenty of them spread out into a fan formation as they advanced. After another ten minutes of cautious progress, Lin Kuang gave an abrupt wave of his hand, and the entire team froze in place. He then gestured for them to get down, and everyone dropped to the ground.
Lin Kuang pointed at Song Tao and Sun Lei, then motioned for them to follow as he moved swiftly ahead. Song Tao and Sun Lei immediately caught up, racing through the forest. A minute later, they spotted three figures. Lin Kuang pointed to the two men on the left and made a throat-slitting gesture. Song Tao and Sun Lei nodded in understanding. The next moment, the trio advanced cautiously, using the trees for cover.
When they were within ten meters of the three figures, Lin Kuang's group suddenly erupted forward at maximum speed. The three men from the Island Country heard the noise and spun around. Their expressions changed drastically when they saw three dark figures closing in on them, and they immediately tried to raise their guns. However, Lin Kuang, Sun Lei, and Song Tao gave them no such chance. Sun Lei and Song Tao lunged, appearing before two of the men in an instant. With a flash of their military sabers, both targets were eliminated. Lin Kuang, meanwhile, simply knocked the third
man unconscious rather than killing him.
"Tell the others to move up," Lin Kuang whispered, glancing at Song Tao and Sun Lei. The two men nodded and quickly departed.
Lin Kuang then woke the captured man from the Island Country and began his interrogation. At first, the man was defiant, but after a taste of Lin Kuang's Bone-dislocating Hand, he confessed everything. He revealed the precise location of the Biochemical Research Institute and the deployment of all personnel in the surrounding forest. Once the man finished talking, Lin Kuang killed him.
After finishing him off, Lin Kuang returned to Sun Lei and the others and gestured for everyone to crouch down.
"Alright, everyone, listen up. There are thirty hostiles deployed out here, split into ten three-man teams. We need to end this quickly. Here are the positions of the remaining nine teams," Lin Kuang explained, sketching a simple map on the ground. "We regroup at the entrance to the Biochemical Research Institute in twenty minutes." Everyone nodded in understanding. They split into pairs and began their assault. Lin Kuang and Huo Feifei went ahead of the main group; his job was to protect her while she handled the facility's electronic systems. Hearing Lin Kuang's orders, Song Tao, Zhang Tianyou, Sun Lei, and the rest moved out.
"Feifei, are you confident?" Lin Kuang asked quietly.
"Mmm, no problem. Leave a small thing like this to me," Huo Feifei replied with confidence. As a computer expert, she was extremely sure of her abilities.
Hearing her confident reply, Lin Kuang relaxed and stood guard. Huo Feifei opened the laptop she carried on her back, and her fingers began to fly across the keyboard, dancing with the nimble grace of butterflies flitting through flowers.
Fifteen minutes later, she gently tapped the Enter key, a satisfied smile gracing her lips. "Brother Kuang, the surveillance, computers,
and electronic locks are all bypassed. We can go in now," she said, looking up at him.
A smile touched Lin Kuang's lips as well. "Feifei, excellent work. Let's
go."
"Mm." Huo Feifei nodded, hugging her laptop as she hurried after Lin Kuang.
Five minutes later, they arrived at the entrance to the institute. Kang Cheng, Zhang Tianyou, and the others arrived shortly after, having clearly completed their assignments.
"Excellent work, everyone," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at the entrance, which was camouflaged as a stone wall. "Feifei, open this door."
"Okay, Brother Kuang," Huo Feifei said. "But be ready, there are four guards in the corridor just behind it. We need to find a way to take them out."
Lin Kuang nodded. With a wave of his hand, four leaves appeared in his palm. "Open the door. I'll handle them," he stated, glancing at Huo
Feifei.
The others stared at Lin Kuang in astonishment. Killing people with leaves? It seemed utterly unbelievable. In Huo Feifei's eyes, however, Lin Kuang was omnipotent; her trust in him was absolute. Of course, Lin Kuang was also confident. Leaves imbued with his True Qi would become incredibly hard.
"Brother Kuang, I'm opening it now," Huo Feifei said, seeking final confirmation.
Lin Kuang stood before the entrance and gave a quiet nod. Without further hesitation, Huo Feifei used her laptop to activate the door. As the massive door began to slide open, the four guards from the Island Country standing in the corridor beyond stared in stunned silence. The next moment, they aimed their guns at the entrance, one of them frantically shouting into his communicator. Their devices,
however, had already been disabled. No one would hear his call. The surveillance monitors inside the institute continued to display calm, unchanging scenes, as if nothing was happening at all. When the door had opened just a palm's-width gap, Lin Kuang flicked his wrist. The four shimmering leaves shot forward like darts. The four men from the Island Country froze for a split second before the leaves pierced straight through their throats.
By the time the door was fully open, the entire team could see the four guards. Seeing them still on their feet, the team raised their weapons, ready for a fight. However, Lin Kuang simply gave a light wave of his hand. Just as Kang Cheng, Zhang Tianyou, and the others watched in confusion, the four men on the other side collapsed to the ground, blood streaming from their necks.
At this sight, everyone except Huo Feifei was utterly dumbfounded.
They knew Lin Kuang was strong, but they had never imagined he was powerful on this level. It was simply terrifying.
"Let's go," Lin Kuang said flatly, stepping inside. Huo Feifei followed
closely behind him.
Kang Cheng, Zhang Tianyou, and the others blinked, shaking themselves out of their stupor. They quickly held their guns at the ready and followed Lin Kuang forward.
"Feifei, which way now?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile, glancing at
her.
