Chapter 692 - 460: Chiguo Plain, Earth Binding Demon Bear, Corpse Knight Battle Group!
So they have a trick like this?
Fang Zhou felt a thrill of excitement. The stronger the combat power of these Undead Lords, the greater the potential of this new undead world. If he could grasp the authority over this fragment of the Undead Realm as he had mastered Corpse Hill, the benefits he would receive would naturally be much greater.
This truth was so obvious it needed no further explanation. Without hesitation, Fang Zhou spurred his mount and brandished his spear. A pure black brilliance burst from his body as he commanded the Yellow Springs Nightmare beneath him to charge ferociously at the Zombie Lord’s position!
Death Charge!
Such a powerful and heavy collision naturally knocked the Zombie Lord back down.
From then on, every time the Zombie Lord tried to scramble up, Fang Zhou would either stab it back down with a few thrusts of his Corpse Long Spear or ride his Yellow Springs Nightmare to violently knock it down again. Under these circumstances, the Zombie Lord had nothing left to fight back with.
Ultimately, he was unable to hold out for his loyal guards to arrive. Under the relentless assault of Fang Zhou and his Corpse Knight Guard, the Zombie Lord met his end.
After swallowing the slowly rising Soul Fire of the Zombie Lord, Fang Zhou began to inherit some of its fragmented memories and the Blood Moon Blessing.
This Zombie Lord’s Soul Fire was indeed much stronger than that of the former Upper-Rank Black Iron Skeleton Lord, and absorbing it took Fang Zhou a considerable amount of time. Before long, however, a sinister smile spread across his face. He finally had a foothold of his own in this new undead world.
Before consuming this Zombie Lord’s Soul Fire, Fang Zhou had been a mere stowaway in this fragmented new world of the undead, despite bearing the Undead Blood Moon Blessing and mastering the authority over Corpses. Although the Corpse Tomb empowered him with the status of a lord, he did not possess any territory in this world. The most obvious sign of this was that he could not simply open the Corpse Tomb at will to transport his Undead Army into this world without cost.
But now, all of that had changed. After devouring the Zombie Lord’s Soul Fire, Fang Zhou officially inherited its status as an Undead Lord, along with this small patch of Undead Territory. To Fang Zhou, the size of the territory was not important; the status of being a lord was what mattered most.
Having obtained the status of an Undead Lord and gained the recognition of this new world’s Blood Moon, Fang Zhou could now transport the subordinates from his portable Corpse Tomb into this fragment of the Undead Realm without any cost. This allowed Fang Zhou, who had been on edge since arriving in the new world, to let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Jumping down into the pit, Fang Zhou began to search the Zombie Lord’s body. The harvest was excellent. In addition to providing Fang Zhou with substantial Corpse Essence and a sphere of pure Soul Power, the Zombie Lord also yielded control over more than 50,000 Low-Level Undead Creatures.
Though these Undead Creatures had fallen into a state of Chaos after losing their lord, to Fang Zhou, they were all his subjects and slaves. With the addition of these fresh forces, the previously stalled training of the Corpse Warriors could resume in full swing.
Of course, all of this was secondary. What excited Fang Zhou the most was discovering a place called Chiguo Plain within the memories from the Zombie Lord’s Soul Fire. A great number of Skeleton Warhorses and Zombie Beasts lived there. These Corpse Beasts could all serve as mounts for his Corpse Knights.
The biggest problem currently troubling Fang Zhou was the size of his Bronze Middle-Rank Corpse Knight Guard, which he couldn’t expand due to the limited production of mounts. Now, with the coordinates for Chiguo Plain, this major problem might finally be solved.
According to the Zombie Lord’s memories, when Beasts, Fierce Beasts, or Spirit Beasts from the World of the Living died, their souls would typically travel to the Undead Realm. There, they would attach to skeletons and become Skeleton Beasts. For various reasons, however, some became Zombie Beasts instead. This was precisely why mounts for Undead Creatures were generally divided into the Skeleton Series and the Zombie Series.
The Skeleton Series, such as Fang Zhou’s mount, the Yellow Springs Nightmare, were almost entirely composed of bone. These mounts were generally faster, though they lacked a bit in power. As Skeleton-Series creatures, without some special opportunity, the strength of these Skeleton Beasts could at most stagnate at the Upper Rank of Black Iron.
As for Zombie Beasts, because they retained some of the flesh and blood they had in life, they were usually stronger than Skeleton Beasts of the same type, but they were also slower and less agile. Other than that, they were not much different from Skeleton Beasts. Their main advantage was that their level cap could reach Upper-Rank Bronze, the maximum for Zombie-Series Undead Creatures.
As he sorted through the Zombie Lord’s memories, Fang Zhou gained a faint understanding of Chiguo Plain. However, it was only a very faint understanding, as this knowledge came from absorbing the Soul Fire of another Undead Lord. Absorbing a Soul Fire allowed one to inherit a limited degree of the original owner’s memories, but these memories invariably showed signs of fragmentation and confusion, making them far less clear than knowledge gained through personal experience.
Still, now that he knew of Chiguo Plain’s existence, Fang Zhou was determined to find a way to get there.
