Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 683 - 455: Sweeping Through the Fierce Beast Mountain Range, Value Doubled!

Chapter 683 - 455: Sweeping Through the Fierce Beast Mountain Range, Value Doubled!

This was a flock of Blast Horned Sheep, but they seemed to have encountered other predators.

Sensing the fierce sounds of battle and Energy Explosions ahead, Fang Zhou slowed his pace and crept forward. The world of Fierce Beasts was not so different from that of ordinary creatures on Blue Star; the roles of predator and prey were often interchangeable.

A pack of Gale Leopards had targeted this flock of Blast Horned Sheep and was now ruthlessly hunting them. The habits of Fierce Beasts differed greatly from those of ordinary animals, as they often moved and acted together in packs.

Ordinary Gale Leopards possessed the strength of Middle-Rank Black Iron. The strongest among them could cast Innate Magic. They used their Energy Organs to channel the Magic Power within their bodies and unleash long-range Attack Magic. Although ordinary Gale Leopards lacked this ability, they were still competent predators, relying on their powerful Four-dimensional Attributes strengthened by long-term absorption of Magic Power.

As Fang Zhou crept closer, concealing his presence, he witnessed the chaotic scene unfolding in the hunting ground.

Over a dozen Gale Leopards had surrounded the poor Blast Horned Sheep, and several of the leopards were already clinging to the backs of their prey. The predators were tearing into the sheep, throwing the flock into a state of panic and confusion. The sheep had no time to rescue their wounded companions; their only thought was to escape this terrifying place. However, the Gale Leopards patrolling the perimeter always managed to intercept them, herding the terrified sheep back into the kill zone.

The most eye-catching of them all was the Leopard King. It stood an estimated two meters at the shoulder with a body over three meters long, and it was currently circling the pack.

It let out a roar, and Fang Zhou’s Perception registered Magic Power gathering in its mouth before it successfully unleashed the Innate Magic: Wind Blade Skill.

The Blast Horned Sheep struck by the Wind Blade Skill let out a terrified bleat, its limbs flailing uncontrollably. Magic Power unconsciously surged, enhancing their bodies, but it offered no defense whatsoever against the sharp Wind Element.

Several Gale Leopards seized the opportunity, lunging forward with gaping maws. Their sharp teeth pierced the sheep’s skin and tore out its throat, sending a torrent of blood gushing into their mouths.

Fang Zhou couldn’t bear to watch the miserable plight of the Blast Horned Sheep any longer. He stopped hiding and immediately began to summon his Corpse Warriors.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Nearly thirty Corpse Warriors materialized around Fang Zhou. At his command, they slowly fanned out, moving to encircle the brawling beasts.

Defensive spells like Skeleton Armor were cast, followed immediately by Attack Magic.

WHIZ! WHIZ! WHIZ!

Several Skeleton Heart-Piercing Flying Spears shot out with a sharp whistle, piercing the air to strike the heads of the Blast Horned Sheep.

The poor sheep were already trapped by the pack and restrained by the leopards’ magic. The kind-hearted Fang Zhou couldn’t bear to see them tormented any longer, so he decided to put them out of their misery first.

Countless specks of light flew from the bodies of the Blast Horned Sheep and into Fang Zhou, delivering a measure of Soul Power.

Fang Zhou had liberated the Blast Horned Sheep. It was only right that they offer their Soul Power in gratitude!

A cold smile touched Fang Zhou’s lips as he gave the Soul Shattering Magic Ball in his hand a slight wave.

Kill them all!

With a surge of Mana, the previously hidden Corpse Warriors began their charge. Some wielded spears, others carried swords and shields, and all of them launched an attack on the pack of leopards.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

They vigorously hurled the Short Spears from their backs. The projectiles shot across dozens of meters of space, speeding toward the pack.

Unlike professional Corpse Archers, Corpse Warriors were inherently inaccurate throwers. The chances of their Short Spears hitting their mark depended largely on the sheer volume of projectiles and the number and density of their enemies.

This volley was clearly not very effective. The Gale Leopards were incredibly agile. Sensing the attack, they began to sprint and leap nimbly out of the way.

ROAR!

The Leopard King let out an angry bellow. Its prey had been killed by an unknown assailant, and the encroaching Corpse Warriors made it feel threatened.

Fierce Beasts were highly intelligent. When encountering an unknown enemy in the mountains, the first thing to assess is whether I can win without injury. If not, can I escape? After all, an injury in the mountains means danger and a significant drop in combat ability. A simple wound could eventually lead to death.

Based on its combat experience, the Leopard King judged that this group of cold enemies, reeking of death, was not to be trifled with.

Thus, it gave the order to retreat.

Following the Leopard King’s roar, the pack began to flee in a single direction, heading for a spot that seemed to be blocked by only a few Corpse Warriors.

The Leopard King took the lead, rushing forward so fast that branches and leaves blurred past its ears, and its passage stirred a whistling wind.

A Giant Shield Corpse Warrior stood in its path. Detecting the Leopard King’s approach, the warrior raised its shield and bone saber, bracing for the attack.

A cruel glint appeared in the Leopard King’s eyes. It leaped forward, its gaping maw wide open, flinging droplets of saliva with its sheer speed.

CLANG!

The warrior’s shield blocked the slash of its claws as the bone saber swung down. But the giant beast had already used its powerful Agility Attribute to leap to the Corpse Warrior’s side.

ROAR!

The Leopard King growled and bit down on the Corpse Warrior’s waist. Under the immense force of its bite, the leopard’s sharp teeth pierced the warrior’s Corpse Armor.

A normal creature would have died from such a wound, but these were Corpse Warriors. As Undead Creatures, the attack was no more than a tickle to them.

Undead Sky Screen!

Several large clouds of vision-obscuring fog were unleashed, and the numerous Corpse Warriors swarmed forward, trapping the pack within.

One Gale Leopard panicked after being attacked. It tucked its tail between its legs and bolted for the perimeter. It was just about to break through the Corpse Warriors’ encirclement when the last step suddenly seemed an impossible distance away.

A Skeleton Cage materialized around it.

Skeleton Heart-Piercing Flying Spear!

The slowed Gale Leopard sensed a mortal threat. It turned its head in terror just in time to see a ghastly white Bone Spear slam into its body. Its green-tinged fur was punctured, and its flesh began to corrode. Dark, murky blood, a clear sign of a magical attack, trickled from the wound.

The Gale Leopard let out a few low whimpers and died.

ROAR!

The Leopard King squeezed out its remaining Magic Power to unleash its innate spell, the Wind Blade Skill. The Wind Blade Skill struck a Corpse Warrior’s Giant Shield. The blades scraped off a fine powder of bone dust, but they failed to cause any significant damage to the skeleton itself.

Having exhausted its Magic Power, the Leopard King watched its packmates being killed one by one, and raw fear filled its eyes.

One by one, the Gale Leopards fell. Some were picked off by targeted spells. Others were caught by Negative Magic, surrounded, and stabbed to death by the Corpse Warriors’ sharp bone sabers and long spears. Even with their thick fur and decent Defense Power, they could no longer resist, and they fell one after another.

Those attacked by spells, by contrast, suffered less. The Skeleton Heart-Piercing Flying Spears simply pierced their bodies. The Attack Magic tore directly through their skulls or internal organs, granting them a swift death without prolonged agony.

The dying cries of the Gale Leopards echoed through the forest. A continuous stream of tiny light specks flooded into Fang Zhou’s body, converting into reserves of Soul Power and adding to his strength.

At this point, the helpless Leopard King could only let out another furious roar. It decided to abandon its pack. It would escape now and find a chance for revenge later.

However, now that things had come to this, how could it be so easy to escape?

Fang Zhou immediately cast a Skeleton Cage on the Leopard King. Even with its superior constitution, the Leopard King struggled against the effects of the Negative Magic. Under Fang Zhou’s Extreme Enhancement, the effects accompanying the Skeleton Cage made it nearly impossible for the beast to move.
