Chapter 656 - 442: Death Elf, Double Casting and Strong Magic!

Fang Zhou’s current military rank was considered quite rare, even within the entire Sea City Military Academy. In his current second year, he was the only Seed Student to have been promoted to Lieutenant.

After completing the promotion procedures, a Flower Elf hurriedly flew to Fang Zhou. She said, "Lord Ark, Queen Stella instructed me to have you come to the Moonlight Spring. The ceremony was a success."

Fang Zhou gently shook his head and sighed softly.

Now that Princess Stella had been crowned queen, the former Queen Biondis must have returned to her eternal sleep. However, that was her personal choice, and he could only sigh in response.

Following the Flower Elf guide into the depths of the Moonlight Spring, Fang Zhou saw the elegant and regal Queen Stella. Her eyes were red as she held a black gemstone roughly the size of her body. This was the very Soul-Binding Skull that Fang Zhou had previously given her.

Fang Zhou stepped forward, saluted, and said with a heavy heart, "Please accept my condolences, Your Majesty Queen Stella."

Queen Stella shook her head. With a gentle wave of her hand, she passed the floating Soul-Binding Skull to Fang Zhou. "Lord Ark, my mother has returned to the Moonlight Spring," she said. "This is a newborn Elf I have created through our people’s secret ritual, and she is now preserved within your Soul-Binding Skull. The final step requires you to act. You must drip your heart’s blood onto this Soul-Binding Skull. This newborn Elf will then transform to match your Energy Attribute, form a Contract with you, and provide you with enhancements."

Fang Zhou nodded, having already anticipated this.

Gently cutting his finger, Fang Zhou dripped a few drops of fresh blood onto the Soul-Binding Skull. Queen Stella hovered quietly nearby, chanting a mysterious spell.

A prompt from the attribute panel followed.

"An Elf Possession Contract is being initiated. Contract Target: Death Elf.

The terms of the possession Contract are as follows: The Death Elf will provide you with various Death Attribute enhancements. In return, you will provide the Death Elf with the resources required for her growth.

This Contract has no negative effects. Do you wish to sign?"

With the attribute panel’s confirmation, Fang Zhou felt relieved and chose to accept. He then felt his blood begin to slowly merge with the unknown soul within the Soul-Binding Skull. A faint yet familiar aura gradually awakened from within the Soul-Binding Skull.

Beside him, Queen Stella, who had been chanting her spell, widened her eyes in delight.

"Contract successful. Spirit Pet column activated."

"Unnamed Death Elf (Black Iron): An extremely rare variant of the Flower Elf. Provides the Contractor with multiple Death Attribute enhancements. Two are currently active.

First, Double Casting: Each time the Contractor casts a Death Attribute Skill of Black Iron-tier or lower, the Death Elf will simultaneously cast the same Skill. The duplicate Skill’s Power will be somewhat weakened.

Second, Strong Magic: The Death Elf’s mana fluctuations share the same origin as the Contractor’s, allowing her to significantly increase the Skill Power of the Contractor’s Death Attribute Skills of Black Iron-tier or lower."

Fang Zhou quickly browsed the description in the newly added Spirit Pet column on his attribute panel, a surge of excitement rising within him. This Death Elf was Queen Biondis’s final gift, and its effects were simple yet powerful. Both Double Casting and Strong Magic were the exact enhancements an Undead Mage needed most. However, without a field test, it was impossible to know the exact extent of the enhancements the Death Elf could provide.

Seeing that Fang Zhou had completed the Contract, Queen Stella looked at him with great anticipation. "Lord Ark, you’ve successfully formed the Contract. Could you please summon this newborn Elf? I wish to feel my mother’s presence again."

Fang Zhou nodded, gently caressing the Soul-Binding Skull in his hand. It was a simple wish, one Fang Zhou was naturally happy to fulfill.

Soon, a fledgling Elf, much smaller than Queen Stella, blinked her innocent eyes and quietly materialized before them. The Death Elf’s appearance was not much different from an ordinary Flower Elf. However, instead of the colorful, petal-like wings brimming with the essence of nature, this Death Elf had a pair of small, skeletal wings on her back. And beneath her dress, which was woven from gray mist, she did not have the delicate jade feet characteristic of a Flower Elf. Instead, there were only the twinkling blue specks of light unique to a Soul Body.

At this sight, Queen Stella, who had been watching quietly from the side, couldn’t help but tear up. This newborn Death Elf had been born from the weary, aging soul of Queen Biondis, but in essence, she had no real connection to the former queen herself.

Queen Stella gently took the tiny Elf’s hand and kissed it. Then, she wiped the tears from her eyes and met the little Elf’s innocent gaze. "Lord Ark," she said, "please give her a name."

Fang Zhou raised a hand, gently lifting the hem of her ethereal, misty skirt. "Let’s call her Vigus," he said. "In the language of the Flower Elves, it means ’the maiden who has returned from the moon.’ I believe Queen Biondis would be pleased."

Queen Stella nodded, gently embracing Vigus and planting a kiss on her forehead.

Once she had composed herself, Queen Stella departed the Moonlight Spring with Fang Zhou, who had placed the newborn Vigus to rest on his shoulder. Queen Stella’s next task was to use the secret techniques of the Flower Elves to impart basic knowledge into the still-innocent mind of Vigus.
