Chapter 748: Pseudo-Truth 18
Hearing the sound of the door closing, Xia Yinian slightly opened her eyes.Seeing the man coming over, she was a bit surprised.
"Third Young Master, why are you still here? Is something the matter?"
In front of Grandpa, she could call him Third Brother, but when it was just the two of them or outside, she was used to calling him Third Young Master.
"Mhm." Feng Yan nodded and sat down on the single-seater sofa next to the bed.
"What’s up?" Xia Yinian tried to sit up.
"Just lie down." Feng Yan waved his hand.
"Oh," Xia Yinian complied, lying down comfortably; although she was lying on her side, it was still more comfortable than sitting up.
The smell of alcohol hadn’t worn off yet, and she was feeling uncomfortable.
"You don’t like Xia Chuxue?" Feng Yan asked softly.
Xia Yinian glanced at him and lightly pursed her lips.
"This question, Third Young Master, seems like it’s not the first time you’ve asked. I don’t like her, that’s my answer."
"Can you tell me why you don’t like her?" Feng Yan looked at her, frowning.
Xia Yinian regained her composure, and after a moment, she said indifferently, "Third Young Master couldn’t possibly be truly interested in Xia Chuxue, could you?"
"I thought that all this was Grandpa’s idea, and that you, Third Young Master, yourself..."
"No interest!" Feng Yan interrupted her softly.
No matter when, the Third Young Master of Feng Family always seemed the same; from a distance, he was cultured and elegant, but up close, he was actually quite cold.
There were very few people or things that could affect him; maybe, Grandpa was an exception.
Just like now, Xia Yinian couldn’t tell if he was happy or not.
"Oh." Xia Yinian nodded slightly, "Then why are you so concerned about Xia Chuxue’s affairs?"
"Because she’s Grandpa’s granddaughter." Feng Yan’s reply was still so crisp, as if he didn’t need to think about it.
"Just because she’s your Grandpa’s granddaughter, even if you don’t like her, would you marry her?" Xia Yinian looked at him, frowning.
"As long as Grandpa is happy, that’s all that matters." Feng Yan responded.
Xia Yinian took a deep breath, somewhat speechless.
Such a good man, the Third Young Master, if he really marries Xia Chuxue, his life would be ruined, thoroughly ruined.
"You don’t like the idea of me marrying her? Then I can only marry you, since Grandpa would be happy either way." Feng Yan’s lips curled into a slight smile.
Between the two girls, he truly preferred to marry Xia Yinian; it was just a feeling, unrelated to love.
"What a joke? You know that’s impossible."
Xia Yinian, who had just been feeling sorry for him, was startled by Feng Yan’s words.
This guy, was he really taking his own marriage so lightly? Speaking of such matters as if he was going grocery shopping.
Wasn’t that a matter concerning his own lifelong happiness? Did he understand that?
Did he truly not care about marriage at all, as long as Grandpa was happy? Why was the Third Young Master so good to Grandpa? Grandpa wasn’t even his real Grandpa.
"If Grandpa was happy, and asked you to marry a man, would you marry one?" Xia Yinian murmured.
"Maybe, but hopefully Grandpa doesn’t have such peculiar inclinations. Why don’t you like Xia Chuxue? Let’s hear it."
Feng Yan’s smile faded from the corners of his mouth, and his expression returned to calm.
"You can go now, I don’t want to talk with a comrade." Xia Yinian moved her lips but couldn’t turn around, so she simply closed her eyes.
"Who said I’m a comrade?"
"You just said it yourself."
"How could I possibly..."
"You said you were willing to marry a man." Xia Yinian cut off Feng Yan’s words with a cold voice.
Hmph! Who told him to not even care about his own marriage?
"A man who’s willing to marry another man, if not a comrade, then what?"
