Chapter 1063: Don’t Let Her Cry Again!
On the balcony, a "clang" sounded, and at the door, a "bang" echoed; two fierce collision sounds erupted simultaneously. When Xia Yinian entered the room, she hadn’t closed the door, so she didn’t even know when it got locked.
The loud noise startled the two people on the bed awake.
Tears welled up in Xia Yinian’s eyes as she unconsciously looked toward the balcony.
Upon seeing the figure breaking in through the window, her tears instantly streamed down.
"Uncle, save me! Uncle..."
The girl’s voice carried a sob, causing the hearts of the two men who just appeared in the room to ache fiercely.
"Nian Nian." The two men simultaneously called out.
The man pressing down on Xia Yinian didn’t have a moment to think before his tall figure was tossed aside by Gu Beicheng.
Seeing the girl on the bed shaking violently, Gu Lingqian just wanted to go over and give her a warm embrace to comfort her.
But, Xia Yinian’s call at the most critical moment was clear to both Gu Beicheng and Gu Lingqian.
He knew, in the little girl’s heart, he would never surpass Uncle.
No matter how much he didn’t want to admit it, this was a fact he had long known.
Flinging aside the damned obstacle, Gu Beicheng’s eyes could only see Xia Yinian.
He clenched his fists tightly, took off his suit, draped it over the girl, and held her in his arms.
"It’s alright now." Because of her presence, his voice was even hoarser than before.
Gu Lingqian kicked the fallen man hard, ensuring he was unconscious, before looking at the pair on the bed.
"Uncle, how are you feeling?"
"It’s fine." Gu Beicheng tossed out two words and lifted Xia Yinian horizontally.
With the door and window opened, allowing air to circulate, Xia Yinian was more alert than before.
She looked at Gu Beicheng without blinking, truly confirming his arrival.
"Uncle, I..." Xia Yinian glanced at her wrapped-up body and sobbed.
"It’s okay, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have let you help." Gu Beicheng frowned lightly, his eyes full of remorse and regret.
He originally intended to ask Ling Qian for help, but he wanted to see the little girl anxious about him.
Unexpectedly, his selfishness almost endangered her.
Gu Beicheng held the girl with one hand, clenched his other hand into a fist, and punched the wall forcefully.
"Uncle!" Xia Yinian exclaimed, almost sitting upright in his embrace.
She clearly saw the blood smear on the wall and a long blood streak on Uncle’s arm.
"Uncle, you’re bleeding." Xia Yinian took a deep breath, her face full of panic.
"It’s fine." Gu Beicheng withdrew his hand, holding the person in his arms with both hands.
With a reassuring glance at her, he then looked at Gu Lingqian.
"Ling Qian, keep today’s matter under wraps for now; I don’t want to alarm mom."
"Okay, got it." Gu Lingqian nodded, "Uncle, do you need me to find a doctor?"
"No need!" Leaving behind those words, Gu Beicheng turned and headed toward the shattered glass door with Xia Yinian in his arms.
"Uncle." Watching the little girl disappear from his sight, Gu Lingqian instinctively called out again.
"What is it?" Gu Beicheng tried hard to suppress his emotions, coldly responding.
Gu Lingqian’s naturally drooping arm clenched tight, turning and leaving a parting remark.
"Don’t let her cry again!"
His voice wasn’t loud, yet it expressed a certain impulse from the heart, seeming to say that as long as Gu Beicheng allowed Xia Yinian to cry again, he would do anything to take her back.
