Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 1301: An Early Morning Phone Call

Chapter 1301: An Early Morning Phone Call

A hand reached out from the soft covers, habitually groping at the bedside table. She picked up her phone before sticking her head out of the duvet, "Whose call is this?"Since she deleted Ian Shelby’s number, there was no note, just a string of blurry unfamiliar digits on the screen.

She rubbed her eyes and answered, "Hello, what’s up?"

"Little lazy pig, time to wake up." Ian Shelby’s voice was gentle.

Jocelyn Morgan was instantly wide awake, "Is it you?" She quickly sat up, properly glanced at the caller ID, then hastily put the phone back to her ear, "Why are you up so early?"

"I’m outside your yard." Ian Shelby’s voice had a hint of laughter, "It’s not early anymore."

"You... you came to see me??"

"Who else would I be here for?"

"Then then then... why didn’t you contact me beforehand?"

Jocelyn Morgan was frantic, she quickly jumped out of bed, "Don’t you know girls can’t just leave the house casually, we have to pick clothes, clean up, do makeup!"

"It’s alright, I can wait patiently." Ian Shelby was full of patience, "As long as you’re willing to meet me." Not at all like a person in a hurry.

"..." Jocelyn Morgan was flustered like a little deer.

"Bye-bye." With that, Ian Shelby hung up the phone, giving her ample time.

"Hello? Hello!" Jocelyn Morgan steadied herself and then hurried to plug the phone in to charge before rushing into the bathroom!

The sound of running water could be heard!

She started washing at the fastest speed possible, squeezing face wash as she brushed her teeth!

Looking in the mirror, her hair wasn’t too oily, luckily she washed it yesterday morning.

But her face was a bit swollen!

Last night she actually drank three big glasses of water!

How troublesome!

Why not schedule it in advance?? Then I wouldn’t have stayed up writing so late!

At least today I’d look a bit better!

After Jocelyn Morgan washed her face and brushed her teeth, she rushed to the closet, opened the wardrobe, tried on several outfits against her body, and suddenly had a dilemma!

Remembering she’d be jogging in the morning, she chose a white sports outfit to change into, accessorizing with suitable earrings.

Sitting at the vanity, she began to apply makeup, each action swift, like a battlefield.

Before leaving, she realized the computer was still on, and turned it off while unplugging the phone charger!

Then she dashed out the door!

The tranquil morning.

Outside the Morgan family’s villa, Ian Shelby parked his car by the roadside. He did not get out, sitting in the driver’s seat, his distinct fingers lightly tapping the steering wheel.

A familiar song was playing in the car—

"Is there a candy like that, where love is even sweeter..."

The car window was half-open, the breeze gently blowing through his hair.

He was in quite a good mood today.

In the living room, Jocelyn Morgan had just rushed downstairs, only to find everyone there, causing her to halt, "Good morning, Uncle, Aunt, Brother, and Sister-in-law!" she greeted.

"You’re going out?" Jasmine noticed her outfit, "Not having breakfast?"

"No." She smiled, her figure quickly disappearing at the living room entrance, "Dr. Shelby has been waiting outside for me for a long time!"

Everyone looked towards the yard, only then realizing a car was parked outside. Who knows how long it had been there; no one had noticed.

"Little girls in love, they get upset easily but are just as easy to console." Finn Morgan couldn’t help but comment, "Like a whole different person from yesterday." Then he looked at his parents, "You can finally breathe a sigh of relief, right?"

Love has a kind of magic power that can influence a person’s mood.

"Seeing her happy makes us happy too." Everett Morgan didn’t think much about it.

But Jasmine sighed, "In love, the deeper one always gets hurt easily. If they don’t make it to marriage, this relationship might cost Jocelyn half her life."
