Chapter 1287: Ian Shelby’s Fury

Chapter 1287: Ian Shelby’s Fury

The alarm clock went off in the guest room next door.Vera Ford woke up from a beautiful dream, instantly alert, and turned off the alarm at once, so frightened she almost lost her soul.

And she dared not sleep any longer.

The next second, she flung the covers aside and got out of bed. As she was putting on her shoes, she felt an inexplicable panic.

She couldn’t understand why she impulsively stayed overnight last night.

Why was she so impulsive? Why did she do such an absurd thing?

If Ian found out, he would definitely be furious, right?

So, she must leave before he finds out!

Vera quickly put on her slippers and hurriedly made the bed. Just as she was about to slip out the door—

The door was forcefully pushed open!

The heavy door panel nearly hit her face! Her steps faltered, and her heart almost leaped out!

The violent sound of the door crashing shattered the morning silence.

Vera’s steps came to a halt, and she met Ian’s cold and cutting gaze with panic in her heart, as if he wanted to devour her.

Sure enough, she was here!

"Are you out of your mind?!" Ian rushed over, grabbed her wrist, and pushed her onto the bed, "Vera!"

"Ah~"

Vera was hurt, caught off guard, and fell onto the bed with such force that it seemed almost lethal.

Ian stood at the foot of the bed, glancing down with a composed yet not entirely pleasant demeanor, "Turns out, it’s been a long time since the reform and opening up! People can still act so shamelessly!"

Vera saw deep disdain in his eyes.

"Get out!" Ian was particularly disappointed in her.

The woman propped herself on her elbows, looking at him with fear, "I’m sorry, Ian, I didn’t mean anything by it."

Frightened by his demeanor, Vera got up with her heart in her throat, "I never meant to trouble you, I just..."

"Get out!" Ian was furious.

Vera didn’t dare linger; before leaving, she still spoke the words she hadn’t finished, "I really just like you a lot." With that, she quickly left!

Ian’s face was grim; she was truly confessing with her life!

Vera hurriedly went downstairs, almost spraining her ankle as she held the handrail, tears of grievance in her eyes as she rushed out of the living room.

In the morning courtyard, she opened the car door and sat in the driver’s seat, her chest heaving violently as she gripped the steering wheel.

Looking up at the bedroom, her heart ached as if it were being torn apart.

After a while, she regained her composure and drove away.

Ian deeply regretted it, wondering why he let her in last night. Treating her as an ordinary friend, she didn’t know her place.

On the way to the hospital, although Ian’s mood was terrible, he didn’t show much of it.

In the doctor’s office, Vera was wearing her white coat, absent-mindedly putting on her badge, feeling a bad premonition.

Recalling Ian’s gaze from the morning, it was really terrifying.

She had never seen him this angry before.

So... perhaps she should wait for him to calm down and sincerely apologize?

In the hospital corridor.

Ian, wearing a white shirt, walked briskly and expressionlessly towards the office.

"Good morning, Dr. Shelby." The assistant came out from the room ahead, immediately greeting him respectfully.

As he walked, he asked, "Are you busy now?"

"Just finished up, I’m good for now." The assistant matched his pace.

"Prepare a resignation agreement for Dr. Ford," Ian said calmly.

This startled the assistant. Glancing in surprise at the man beside him, his expression said it all. Ian didn’t want Dr. Ford to remain at the hospital.

And everyone knew Dr. Ford was only at Providence Hospital because of Dr. Shelby’s support.

Is this a fallout?

"Didn’t you hear me?" Ian glanced back as he entered the door, "Need me to repeat it?"

"No need, I’ll get right on it!"
