Chapter 856 367: Wrath of the Sea God (Part 2)

Soon, the flower carrying them rose upwards from beneath the vine layers.

As the blossom opened, Alka saw the scene outside.

The sea surface ahead was densely covered with shattered vines and various bones.

Most of the broken bones were still wrapped with some sap from young buds.

These things nearly covered the entire sea surface.

Above their heads, the Great Gardener was organizing the Priests inside the fortress, manipulating the surviving vines to begin spreading and enveloping.

At the same time, they dragged the broken bones into the water, which would become the fertilizer for new vines.

With these bones cleared, Alka realized that an area ahead of the fortress, almost within sight, was a deep blue contrasting with the surrounding green.

This indicated that the vine layer below had been almost completely cleared and destroyed.

It was no longer a place one could walk.

Seeing this situation, Alka roughly understood.

Likelike a whirlpool had sucked the attacking undead into the sea, churning them into pieces.

Indeed, the Sea God's followers showed incredible fighting power on the sea, not to be underestimated.

The entire fortress was busy. Those staying in the fortress were either helping to clean the battlefield or collecting the bodies of former comrades. The losses from this battle were still incalculable.

Alka and a few others walked in through the shattered vine entrance.

Soon, they spotted the very conspicuous Crystal Dragon.

Ulu Liwus was asleep in a quiet corner, perhaps entering another growth phase, leading her to frequent sleep again.

Next to her sat Jason and others left in the fortress, including Simon.

Upon seeing Alka and his companions return, they quickly rose to greet them.

They carefully examined the group, ensuring that none were injured.

"Are any Puppet Girls hurt?" Alka asked.

He noticed many Puppet Girls around the Crystal Dragon had chips and cracks on them.

After all, in such a war, casualties were the normal state.

Simon nodded: "Yes, but the serious ones have already had parts replaced. The remaining ones have only minor damage they can repair themselves."

Hearing this, Alka nodded and plopped down onto the nearby ground.

This day had truly been exhausting.

As they chatted, the sky's curtain covered them, plunging into darkness in an instant.

The transition between day and night was so sudden.

"Let's rest, and discuss other matters after a good rest."

Upon hearing Alka's suggestion, the group nodded and went to their dwelling places.

However, the roof of their residence had already been smashed into a deep pit, with vines and rubble scattered everywhere.

"Alright, it seems there's no better place to rest for now, let's make do inside," Alka said helplessly as he entered.

Upon checking the interior, although the top was damaged with a large hole, it temporarily did not affect the first floor.

The group spent the night simply getting by in the broken house.

Outside, noise persisted, with sounds of people coming and going.

When Alka woke up, it was still late at night outside.

Upon stepping out, he noticed the damaged part on top of the stone house had been stuck together with vines and some rubble at some point.

Looked like a simple repair.

Very rough.

Shimmering lamp flowers were hung throughout the fortress.

A brief look showed the number of soldiers inside the fortress had greatly reduced, with almost only those on guard remaining.

Even members of the Holy Mother and the Church were absent.

As Alka stepped out, the soldier standing at the door saw him and nodded respectfully towards him.

"Master Alka, you're awake. Please come with me."

The freshly awakened Alka nodded and followed the soldier to the central flower house, once the command center of the fortress.

Upon entering, there were few people inside.

He only saw Rui Kai and a member from another squad who had previously acted together with them.

This member, he remembered, seemed to be part of Rui Kai's team and had acted alongside Pororo's team.

Initially, Alka thought they were members of the Holy Mother Church, but realized later they weren't, just proficient in Holy Light energy attacks.

"Hey, Alka." Rui Kai greeted Alka with a smile.

"Where are the others?" Alka walked over, sat on the table, and curiously asked.

At that moment, attack route maps still lay in the center of the meeting table.

Facing Alka's question, Rui Kai only gestured to the map.

The meaning was clear.

Alka looked over, seeing numerous attack routes drawn on it, indicating a counterattack plan.

The map detailed which directions troops from six fortresses would attack from, eliminating undead and occupying important locations.

However, the route map didn't extend all the way to the border but stopped at a certain point.

Whether there was a follow-up plan or a temporary halt to the attack was unknown.

"They've already taken this opportunity to counter-push?"

Rui Kai nodded: "Yes, apart from some injured and overly fatigued personnel. Others took a brief rest before starting the counter-push."
