Chapter 404 - 218 Sea Beast Fishing Boat
「In the Dream World.」
Alka woke up at night, in his own Dream Bubble.
As he opened his eyes, he turned to look at the giant crystal floating in his world. Inside the transparent crystal, only a tiny fraction of the Dream Energy, stored for so long, remained.
Seeing this minuscule amount of Energy floating within, Alka couldn’t help but sigh.
I could have imagined that using Dream Energy to create physical objects in the real world by channeling it from the Dream Realm would consume a lot, but I didn’t expect it to consume *this* much.
Alka had simply constructed three Metal Lightning Rods with the Thunder-Attracting Attribute. Unexpectedly, these three items had almost completely consumed the Dream Energy he had stored for several months. This result was achieved even after using the Mirror to reduce the consumption required to bridge the Dream Realm and reality. If he were to violently break the barrier between the two, the cost would be even greater; perhaps the Energy injected into the outside world would only be enough to construct two Lightning Rods.
It seems that to understand how to spend the least Energy for the greatest results, I can only witness the moment the barrier between the Dream World and reality is broken.
Alka understood the Dream World; such occurrences were not uncommon, merely happening sporadically in various places.
Never mind, I won’t dwell on this. After all, the reason there’s so little Energy is because the part of the Dream Realm along our navigation route is too barren, with too few dream creatures. It’s just too desolate here.It could take several days just to encounter a huntable target.
Controlling his body, he floated out of his Dream Bubble.
When Alka emerged into the wider Dream World, he was slightly surprised by the scene around him. Many small bubbles had appeared nearby. These bubbles were aqua-blue and exceptionally transparent. One could clearly see the seawater they contained from the outside, indicating they were the Dream Bubbles of marine creatures. This was the first time Alka had seen so many bubbles floating around along the navigation route. It seemed this place was no longer as desolate as before.
Looking at these bubbles, Alka turned his head. Only then did he realize that, apart from his own Dream Bubble, various light and shadow creatures were attacking the Dream Bubbles of all his teammates. Although there were many creatures, they were all types Alka had seen before, or similar, and he easily cleared them away.
Curious, Alka began to explore the surrounding Dream World. Indeed, he could see it had become much livelier. Quite a few Dream Bubbles of various sizes floated around. They were all transparent and were merely the dreams of wild animals—nothing special. The appearance of these bubbles also indicated the presence of many creatures in the outside world.
But why did such changes occur specifically in this last segment of the journey? Is it because the neighboring sea area belongs to the Sea God? Moreover, he could confirm the presence of an intelligent Race living along the navigation route.
After completing a lap without any special discoveries, Alka returned to the exterior of his Dream Bubble. A Mirror Surface appeared on his face, and the Dream Catcher floated out from his chest. The powers of both began to interact, altering the surroundings. This was Alka testing his abilities and verifying some of his ideas. These could be considered Alka’s main activities in the Dream Realm recently.
He wanted to devise a method to separate a part of a Dream Bubble and to construct defenses for the bubbles, preventing interruptions from dream creatures while their owners slept. This matter had troubled him for a long time. He knew his crew members couldn’t be expected to successfully enter their dreams every time they rested on his ship. Nor could he expect the dream creatures to always be so weak as to not affect their dreams. And if they truly encountered a sufficiently deadly impact, it would be too late. Even if not fatal, sustaining too much damage was also unacceptable. There was nothing wrong with being prepared. Besides, they spent enough time in the Dream Realm, and their physical bodies also needed this time to rest.
However, Alka had apparently achieved nothing from his efforts.
Until near dawn, Alka returned to his own dream, quickly falling asleep to recover from his mental fatigue.
「Upon waking up in the morning.」
Alka tidied himself up briefly and went to the dining room. Breakfast had already been laid out on the dining table.
Soon, Chadite also walked in from outside.
"Morning."
"Morning."
After the brief greeting, Chadite sat down opposite Alka and started eating breakfast.
"How long until we completely pass through the navigation route?" Alka asked while eating.
This was something Alka didn’t know much about. Chadite typically kept track of such things.
Hearing Alka’s question, Chadite chewed the food in her mouth, tapped the table, and said, "I’m not sure. Since we arrived here, the currents in the navigation route have been getting faster, and the intervals between strong waves hitting us have become more frequent. I can’t calculate how much longer it will take.
"But at this rate, if we continue sailing non-stop, it won’t take more than ten days."
Hearing this, Alka nodded. He could feel the ship’s speed increasing beneath his feet.
Soon, more people came into the dining room.
After finishing breakfast, Alka left the dining room.
Having just stepped outside, he saw a rope drop down and then tap him.
