Chapter 399 - 216: Storm Trial_2
The forces of nature are not easily stopped by human effort.
At this moment, the Shield finally rose again, but just as it did, it was shattered by the oncoming lightning before it could hold out for much longer.
If the power of the Thunder cannot shatter the Shield at once, then Energy will keep supplying it.
However, once shattered, the time needed to re-consolidate the Shield is enough for the subsequent lightning to turn the entire ship into dust.
At this time, the seawater around the ship began to boil unnaturally, even temporarily suppressing the surrounding surging waves. The strange sight left everyone feeling physically and mentally exhausted.
"What’s going on?" Jason, who had just come up, received no replies.
Lightning continued to strike down incessantly, and two large holes appeared once again on the deck. This time, Alka’s body did not change; he stood still. Alka’s true form had already sunk into the Dream Realm. He could only use his last resort now.
He looked at the huge crystal floating in the center of his Dream Bubble, with firefly-like light points dancing around inside it. It’s time.
Standing in the Dream World, Alka’s face took on a Mirror Surface. Then, with a wave of his hand, a large circular Mirror appeared next to the crystal, floating slowly. At the same time, his substitute outside also conjured a large circular Mirror.
In the Dream Realm, Alka controlled the Energy within the crystal to gently drift out towards the Mirror. Meanwhile, the others outside noticed the Mirror flickering. Tiny points of light drifted out, forming one after another into small, spherical light points.
As soon as these light points flew out, they combined into an object. It was some kind of iron-based structure—three in total—with a peculiar design, floating around the ship under the control of the substitute. They were arranged in a triangular formation, their tops converging.
"Simon, help me stabilize them!" Alka’s substitute called out.
Upon hearing this, Simon lifted his brass-colored mechanical arm, the Treasure on his right forefinger glowing faintly. He threw out three blobs of metal. These metals deformed in mid-air and then attached themselves to the three metal rods, securing them firmly around the ship.
Thunder struck again. But this time, it did not strike directly at them; instead, it veered in the air, all of it heading for the pointed tops. Electrical light could be seen transferring across these three iron pillars before rushing into the seawater.
Alka’s substitute told the others, "Find a way to speed up; we can’t hold on for long."
The ship’s speed increased. But they had only just entered this Storm Sea Region; clearly, it was not a place they could escape quickly.
From the dark clouds above the boiling seawater, a black column of cloud emerged. Mixed with thunder and lightning, it rushed directly at them, but this time the target was not the ship but Pororo, who was standing at the bow.
Pororo stood at the bow, his eyes glowing scarlet, his hands raised high like claws. The water-flow tattoos on his body swirled frantically, emitting a bright blue light.
"This is the final trial! Let the Ocean bear witness!" he shouted, his whole body enveloped in swirling water as the Spiral of black clouds crashed directly onto him.
The Sound of Dawn was swiftly navigating through this stormy sea when all the surrounding Thunder suddenly halted.
"What’s happening? What happened to Pororo?" Alka asked, looking at Pororo at the bow. The Spiral cloud connecting to the dark clouds above continued to wrap around Pororo.
BOOM!
An even more intense, exaggerated sound erupted as a thunderbolt, like a pillar of light, descended straight down. It pierced through the entire cloud column, directly hitting Pororo inside.
"What’s going on? Why did it go there?!" Alka growled, his eyes wide with rage as he watched. The triangular formation created by the three Lightning Rods had unexpectedly no effect.
With this bolt of lightning, the clouds enveloping Pororo completely dispersed. Pororo’s figure was now exposed, his body covered with marks as if he had been struck by lightning. He was howling in pain.
Then he opened his hands, and the Lightning Rods, originally fixed on either side of the ship, flew into his grasp.
"Full speed ahead! Don’t worry about me; this is my final trial!" With that said, he bellowed.
The Thunder in the sky struck again. This time, however, all the Thunder around the Sound of Dawn converged on Pororo. The boiling seawater calmed once more. Now, surging waves no longer troubled the Sound of Dawn; instead, they all converged at the bow, crashing frantically against Pororo.
If one looked from an extremely far distance toward this direction at this moment, they would see the thick clouds covering the entire sea slowly rotating in a Spiral.
"What is that?" Lucilia asked, standing on the deck and pointing to the side of the ship. Everyone turned to look.
There, a strange hue appeared, followed by what looked like a rift tearing apart the Ocean and space itself. Frantic purple Thunder gathered there. A huge spatial rift was torn open, the water on either side parting. All the Thunder kept striking down in that direction.
Where Alka and the others were, the raging gales and the Thunder both began to weaken slightly.
