Chapter 990 - 988: The Little Young Master Enlightened
In the evening, before Ji Dabao’s car drove into the yard, the two little rascals playing inside heard the sound of the car and knew the family had returned. So, they wiggled their little bodies and crawled to the front door, sitting on the ground, watching wide-eyed at the yard entrance.Upon seeing it was Dabao and Nuonuo, the two little rascals waved their hands and yelled loudly.
The young master responsible for watching the two little ones also came out at this time, scooped them up with one hand to meet Brother and Sister.
"Brother, Sister!"
After greeting the loving couple who walked over, the young master obediently put the two noisy little treasures into their arms.
"Was Beibei good today? Did Uncle spank him?" Nuonuo hugged Beibei, kissed his cheek with a smile, and asked.
"Sister, I’m so nice to this little rascal. Why would I hit him?!"
The young master sounded quite dissatisfied. Though he seldom or never had the chance to spank Guoguo, his tolerance for Beibei was noticeably lower, so sometimes when Beibei annoyed him, he couldn’t help but flip him over and give his bottom a few slaps!
Nuonuo merely laughed, while Beibei tugged Little Treasure’s face, probably protesting his lies.
After casually messing up Little Treasure’s face, Beibei reached out his hands towards Ji Dabao.
Ji Dabao quickly used one hand to hold Guoguo, then reached over to pick Beibei up as well.
The boy and girl, as if competing, hugged his neck from both sides and started gnawing.
Ji Dabao neither called out in pain nor showed disdain, happily letting his son and daughter drool all over his neck.
The young master, who had played babysitter all day, happily enjoyed some leisure, walking ahead with his arm around Nuonuo’s shoulders, asking about her day at Xinying.
The siblings, chatting and laughing, walked into the house, followed by the super dad carrying his two children. Once inside, he bent down intending to place the two little treasures on the carpet, as he needed to change his shoes and remove his coat.
But the little treasures held onto him, unwilling to let go. Dabao kissed one and rubbed the other, coaxing them softly, until they finally released him. As Dabao placed them on the carpet and patted their shoulders to signal them to crawl into the living room, "Beibei Guoguo, ready to run!"
Under normal circumstances, upon hearing their dad’s command, the two little ones would immediately become energetic, wriggling their little bodies and crawling towards the living room.
But today, it seemed they had conspired. They sat confidently on the carpet, looking up with their little faces, their big, shiny eyes staring at Ji Dabao.
As Dabao unbuttoned his shirt sleeves and rolled them up, he looked down at his adorable children, "What’s wrong? Tired of playing with Uncle today, don’t want to race?"
Knowing how energetic the young master was, Dabao, as the big brother, was well aware, and the two little rascals truly loved playing with Uncle, probably because their personalities were most similar to Uncle’s.
The two little ones blinked but remained silent.
Ji Dabao bent down to change his shoes, unable to resist kissing their chubby cheeks again.
The young master, who had returned, leaned against the entrance with his arms crossed, smiling while watching the two rascals. "Look at how lazy you become as soon as Dad comes back?"
Beibei and Guoguo turned to look at the young master, raising their little fingers with an "ah" sound.
"What’s this? Are you going to report me to Dad?" The young master raised his eyebrow, staying ready to engage.
Having gotten used to the antics and bickering of the three little rascals over the past few months, Dabao, not surprised by anything, decided to let them sort out their "battlefield" themselves, pinching their cheeks before standing up to leave them to it.
But before taking a step, he felt his left and right feet being embraced simultaneously, and he looked down to meet Beibei Guoguo’s bright and spirited eyes.
Dabao was about to say something when Beibei, who held his left leg, moved his lips, his clear and pleasant voice reaching Ji Dabao’s ears, "Dad!"
Surprised, Dabao hadn’t yet smiled when Guoguo, who held his right leg, chimed in loudly, "Dad!"
Dabao couldn’t help but laugh, bending down to scoop up his treasures and smother them in kisses.
"Hahaha, Beibei Guoguo are great, calling Dad! Dad loves you!"
Beside them, the young master finally heard them calling Dad again, this time aimed accurately at the rightful owner.
"Hmph, Ji Dabao, what’s there to be happy about? They called me Dad this morning, too! Humph!"
Whether indignant or showing off, the young master’s expression looked quite peculiar.
Recovering from his delight, Dabao turned and smiled at him, "Did they call Uncle too?"
Clearly, Ji Dabao misunderstood the young master’s intention.
The young master turned his head with another "hmph," after a moment, seeming a bit upset, came over to pinch the little rascals’ cheeks.
The two rascals seemed to realize Uncle was teasing them, giggled, burying their faces into Ji Dabao’s neck, seeking shelter!
The young master’s hand missed, so he changed direction, lightly patting the chubby bottoms of the little ones, "papa," hitting them twice.
He used the lightest touch, so the little ones thought he was just playing, laughing and twisting into Dabao’s arms.
"These little rascals, calling me Dad this morning too!"
Feeling more aggrieved the more he thought, the young master started believing the little ones were deliberately teasing him this morning.
Ji Dabao, not surprised at all, said, "Maybe, they got mixed up?"
After all, he and Little Treasure did share similar facial features. It wasn’t unusual for children to mix things up.
The young master shook his head, "Ridiculous! With anyone else, I might not be sure, but these two mischievous ghosts, mixed up?"
Confidently, the young master knows Ji Family’s kids aren’t that silly!
Even his sister, whom he calls a fool the most, isn’t truly foolish. Moreover, these two rascals have Ji Dabao’s sharp, cunning blood flowing within them!
Mixing up, ridiculous!
Ji Dabao didn’t argue further; he wasn’t present at the time, unable to judge if they recognized the wrong person.
And naturally, the young master wouldn’t mention his encounter with "Little Bamboo" in the park. Or perhaps, it wasn’t inability but bashfulness.
No need to guess, if he divulged the whole story, everyone would surely call him a fool!
Sigh...
In the days following, the young master’s mood visibly dipped; while the Ji Family sensed it clearly, they were clueless as to why he became low-spirited.
Only Le Tong, because of the conversation with the young master that day, sensed he might be troubled by love!
