Chapter 983 - 981: A Reliable Little Brother

Chapter 983 - 981: A Reliable Little Brother

"Brother, I don’t want to leave Beibei Guoguo at home, but I’m not confident taking the two little ones out."Da Bao tapped her nose, "How hard can this be? Don’t worry, give me a few days, I’ll definitely sort it out for you."

Since Da Bao said he could get it done, Nuonuo felt at ease, "Brother, there’s no rush with this. I need to select the right pieces, then make detailed revisions and rearrangements. It’ll take at least three to four months by the time it’s actually recorded."

Nuonuo has released an album, so she knows making an album is not an easy task. It seems like an instrumental album might be simpler, but on the contrary, a pure music instrumental album actually demands higher standards.

In the following months, although Nuonuo as she said didn’t return to work at Xinying, she was equally busy beyond measure.

She still insists on not hiring a nanny, during the day, Beibei and Guoguo are still taken care of by her and Aunt Guan. And as the two little ones grow day by day, their daytime naps become shorter, playtime becomes longer, and their workload increases.

Luckily, before the two little ones were born, the Ji Family did a careful renovation; even the stairs were covered with thick carpet, and all the corners and hard furniture or doors were wrapped in thick velvet. So, Nuonuo often puts Beibei and Guoguo on the carpet, while she herself studies a stack of music sheets meticulously.

Beibei and Guoguo both have very outgoing personalities, they don’t cry much, always laughing joyfully all day long, very likable.

Nuonuo puts the two little rascals on the carpet, the siblings often smile at each other, one touches the other’s face, the other holds the other’s hand. Although they are fraternal twins, Beibei, as the brother, seems to have inherited the Ji Family’s men’s tolerant nature entirely, always gentle and accommodating to Guoguo.

Often, when Guoguo kicks or hits him, he doesn’t cry or fuss, just reaches out to hold Guoguo’s hand or foot, sometimes rubs his face against hers.

Occasionally, the siblings hug each other in a bundle, one touches the other’s face, the other licks the other’s forehead.

Seeing such loving scenes, Da Bao often says the two little ones might be reminiscing about the days of growing together in mommy’s belly.

"Brother, stop joking!" Nuonuo just assumes he’s joking.

"I’m not joking. During infancy, people retain most faint memories from the mother’s womb."

On this day, Nuonuo was flipping through a large stack of music sheets, clearly having seen the siblings lovingly hugging each other and touching and licking each other just moments ago, a piercing cry suddenly sounded.

Nuonuo quickly set down the music sheets and went over to see what happened, it turned out Guoguo was crying.

She picked her up to check, and it was because she’d wet her pants.

Because the weather has been warm these few days, Nuonuo thought to let the two little ones’ bottoms get some air, so during the day they weren’t wearing diapers. Usually, before they pee, the two little ones’ faces turn red from holding it and they’d hum "um um ah ah."

But Nuonuo was overly focused on her music sheets just now and didn’t hear Guoguo’s humming.

"What’s wrong? Why did she start crying, is she hungry?" Aunt Guan heard the crying from kitchen and came running.

"No, Guoguo peed, Aunt Guan please watch over Beibei, I’ll wash Guoguo and change her pants."

Aunt Guan agreed and bent down to pick up Beibei.

The little ones, who were lying on the carpet, watched as mommy carried off sister, Beibei flipped over and sat up.

"Oh my, Nuonuo, Beibei can sit now."

Aunt Guan exclaimed excitedly, holding the little brother protectively to prevent him from falling forward.

Nuonuo had already taken off Guoguo’s wet pants and wrapped her in a dry towel, Guoguo was no longer crying and squirmed out from Nuonuo’s arm, pulling on Nuonuo’s arm with one hand, curiously looking at the brother sitting on the carpet reaching out to her.

Beibei and Guoguo looked at each other, babbling in a language only the siblings understood.

Nuonuo looked at her daughter in her arms, then at Beibei sitting steadily on the floor, his gaze fixed eagerly on his sister’s face.

"Aunt Guan, please bring Beibei in too."

These two little ones often cannot tolerate being apart.

Take sleeping, for example, initially, the two baby beds were separate because of fears the little ones might accidentally scratch, pinch, or kick each other. But once separated, they would cry so dramatically there’s nothing can be done, so the next day, Da Bao, along with Little Treasure, worked together to join the two baby beds. That night, the two little ones held each other and slept soundly and sweetly.

Aunt Guan picked up Beibei and followed Nuonuo into the bathroom, "Why not help both of them take a bath?"

Nuonuo filled the tub halfway with warm water and put the two little naked ones in.

Both little ones love playing in water, splashing with their chubby legs vigorously, playing until exhausted, then cuddled together again, pulling each other’s ears, pinching each other’s cheeks.

"Nuonuo, with them being so inseparable, what will you do when they’re a bit older and go to kindergarten?" Aunt Guan asked.

Nuonuo hadn’t considered that far ahead, "Once they grow a bit older, they probably won’t be this clingy anymore, right?"

Aunt Guan shook her head laughing, "Ha, hard to say, you were very clingy with Little Treasure too when we sent you two to kindergarten. You cried so much because you were put in different classes!"

Such things Nuonuo obviously couldn’t remember.

"They’ll overcome it slowly! If it really doesn’t work, we can consult a doctor at that time."

After the little ones had fun playing in the water, it was already more than half an hour later when Nuonuo and Aunt Guan scooped them out, dried them, and dressed them in clean clothes.

When put back on the carpet, Beibei flipped over and sat up immediately, while Guoguo, apparently hadn’t mastered this skill yet, stared wide-eyed at brother, puzzled as to why he had changed?

Beibei reached out to grab Guoguo’s arm, babbling something, and Nuonuo and Aunt Guan speculated that he was trying to pull his sister to sit up.

Nuonuo didn’t intervene, only quietly watched the two little ones mumble in a secret language only they understood. But Aunt Guan, unable to sit still, reached out to help Guoguo up.

"Aunt Guan, don’t! Let Guoguo sit up on her own!"

Just like the other members of the Ji Family, Nuonuo deeply loves these two little treasures, but love doesn’t equate to indulgence. Things the little ones need to handle or learn themselves, they never step in to help, only silently watch on the side.

"They can communicate with each other, what Guoguo doesn’t understand, Beibei will help her."

For some reason, Nuonuo has always believed this.

Even though Beibei was only born a few minutes before Guoguo, she’s convinced Beibei will be a competent brother. Like his daddy, he’ll be a trustworthy, brave, and smart brother, always providing a safe haven for his sister in whatever situation arises.
