Chapter 962 - 960: Looking Up at Her

Chapter 962 - 960: Looking Up at Her

The next day at noon, Si Han was at a beauty center near the hotel for some treatments. Da Bao called, saying he had arrived and asked where she was. She gave him the address, and ten minutes later, a beautician came in quietly to inform her that a Mr. Ji was looking for her outside."Let him in."

Da Bao was led in by the beautician. Nuonuo was having a facial mask applied, unable to open her eyes or mouth.

Upon hearing footsteps, she moved slightly, and soon her hand was enveloped in a warm and strong grip.

"How long will it take?" A deep voice drilled into Nuonuo’s ear, fingers gently tickling her palm as a way of greeting her, implying that he was there.

"You can wash it off in about ten minutes. Mr. Ji, would you like to wait outside or stay here with Miss Si Han?"

"I’ll wait here!"

As soon as Da Bao finished speaking, someone brought a chair over deftly, "Please have a seat, Mr. Ji!"

Da Bao held onto Si Han’s hand, and though he sat quietly by her side, it inexplicably reassured her.

When the beautician cleaned the mask off her face, she opened her eyes to meet Da Bao’s dark and bright gaze.

"I thought you’d go to Uncle’s house first!" Si Han had activities all day, so she wasn’t sure if Da Bao would stay with her the whole time.

Da Bao shook his head, "No, I’ll be with you all day today." He looked down at her gently, his long fingers sliding from her beautiful brows to her tender face. With the presence of two beauticians, he could only convey his care in a subtle way.

"Oh, then let’s grab something to eat later. There’s a press conference at noon, so if you have something to do, you can step out for a bit during that time."

Nuonuo propped herself up on the bed and reached out for the coat handed over by the beautician. Da Bao took it instead, carefully helping her put it on, buttoning it up, and pulling up the hood over her head.

"Let’s go; the driver’s waiting outside."

Nuonuo initially thought it was a company-arranged car, but when they got outside, it turned out to be the Yang Family’s car and driver.

"Uncle said he’s booked a place tonight to celebrate for you." Da Bao said as he opened the car door and helped her in.

Da Bao’s demeanor was as usual, which led Nuonuo to believe that Si Jun hadn’t told her brother about her "discomfort" last night.

As expected, Si Jun, being sensitive, must have been too embarrassed to report back to Da Bao after receiving her misleading message.

Once in the car, she realized Si Jun was also there, tactfully sitting in the front seat to leave the back seat for Nuonuo and Da Bao.

"Young Master Yu, where are we headed now?" the driver asked Da Bao, turning his head.

Da Bao looked down at Nuonuo, "You said you wanted to eat, what do you want?"

Nuonuo considered how tired Da Bao must be yesterday and that he had flown over early today, surely affecting his appetite.

"How about we find a Cantonese teahouse for some dim sum?"

Da Bao, having noticed Nuonuo’s poor appetite recently, agreed to her suggestion and named the most famous Cantonese teahouse in Beijing.

Nuonuo’s appetite indeed hadn’t been great lately, and though she wasn’t picky compared to Da Bao and Little Treasure, she had been unusually selective. Lei Tong and Da Bao just assumed she was under stress due to the year-end without thinking more of it.

Nuonuo hadn’t thought much of it before, but now, she understood the reason.

The three of them sat around a small round table, and seeing the steaming dim sum whetted Nuonuo’s appetite. She picked up her chopsticks and popped a shrimp dumpling into her mouth.

Da Bao and Si Jun weren’t in a rush; they sipped their tea. Si Jun glanced at Nuonuo, happily eating, then looked at Da Bao.

"Young Master Yu, I got two phone calls this morning. One from Director Lei Tong, and the other from Director Mo Xiao."

Da Bao’s calm eyes showed a ripple of interest, "Oh? They both want Nuonuo to act in their films?"

Director Lei Tong, not active domestically in recent years, was the first director recognized by international audiences. Meanwhile, Director Mo Xiao was famous for quirky genres, and though his films were few, they always managed to secure awards at major international film festivals.

"Yes, they both said they had a lead female role perfectly suited for Si Han."

Da Bao studied the girl beside him, engrossed in eating, and thought she might be winning another big award tonight!

"Get back to them later, saying the company higher-ups will contact them for detailed discussions."

Just after Da Bao finished speaking, Nuonuo, who had been happily eating, suddenly raised her head, "Brother, don’t rush to contact them yet, let’s discuss it tomorrow, is that okay?"

Da Bao was a bit puzzled, but since she wanted it that way, he couldn’t argue.

"Alright, Si Jun, handle it."

Over the years, Xinying had given Nuonuo great freedom, and in Nuonuo’s memory, there had never been an assignment or contract that went against her wishes. In short, whatever Nuonuo requested, the company never obstructed or intervened.

After leaving the teahouse around eleven, Da Bao insisted on accompanying Nuonuo to the press conference despite her suggestion.

Many media personnel present were familiar with him.

"Young Master Ji, you’ve come specifically to support Si Han today?"

Some seasoned journalists had long heard rumors of Si Han’s unusual relationship with the Ji Family, and while they wouldn’t say anything openly, there was no shortage of speculation. Seeing the former Mr. Ji so intimately by Si Han’s side confirmed their suspicions.

Was Si Han Mr. Ji’s girlfriend after all?

Speculating so, a few journalists secretly breathed a sigh of relief, being glad they hadn’t exposed any scandals or gossip about Si Han before. Otherwise, they might not have known what hit them!

"Yes, I happened to have time today, so I came to keep her company."

The elegant Mr. Ji shook hands with the journalists who greeted him, jokingly adding, "Please go easy on Si Han with your questions later, I’m counting on you!"

The journalists, flattered, responded with laughs, "We wouldn’t dare! Even if Mr. Ji hadn’t said anything, we wouldn’t trouble Si Han."

Da Bao winked playfully before finding a seat guided by the organizers.

After a good night’s sleep and a hearty meal, Si Han sat on the panel, looking radiant and in high spirits.

Da Bao sat in the center, mimicking a fan with his phone, snapping pictures of Si Han from various angles.

Truth be told, Da Bao had rarely sat in such a position and angle to watch Si Han since she entered the entertainment world. Like an ordinary fan, he gazed up at her!

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to; it was due to his special and sensitive status. He didn’t want his presence to cause her trouble or to overshadow the spotlight and attention that rightfully belonged to her.
