Chapter 952 - 950: I’m Just Like You
Chapter 952 - 950: I’m Just Like You
"Si Han, I don’t want to deal with feelings right now."Si Jun said it seriously, but Si Han knew he was just making excuses.
Si Han gave him a deep look and timely changed the topic, but inside, she silently made a decision.
Due to the limited budget, this time’s promotional tour was quite tight. In the same city, they had to visit two major cinemas and a university for promotions all in one day. After the last stop, they returned to the hotel, already close to eleven at night.
Si Han went to shower as soon as she returned to her room, and when she came out, she planned to call the service desk to have some food brought up because she was feeling a bit hungry.
Just then, the doorbell rang, and Si Han ran to the peephole to look outside. It was Si Jun standing at the door.
Si Han opened the door, "It’s so late, why aren’t you asleep?"
She realized Si Jun was still wearing the same clothes as earlier and was holding a large bag in his hand.
"I got a bit hungry, so I went out and bought porridge and dumplings. Do you want some?" Si Jun handed over the bag.
Si Han stepped aside to let him in, "Thanks, I was just about to call the desk and ask them to send up something."
Si Han wasn’t naive; she knew Si Jun had gone out to buy the late-night snack especially for her, not because he was hungry.
Si Jun bent down and took out the food from the bag, not forgetting to explain, "I remember you like fried dumplings, but I was worried you might get heaty from running around all day, so I bought steamed ones."
Si Han grabbed some chopsticks, soaked them in hot water, and handed them to him.
"Yeah, I really can’t eat anything too greasy, I’m protecting my throat lately."
Si Han’s album would start recording after the movie promotion, so Ning Yi and Jiahao had already warned her to be careful and protect her voice.
"Sister Fang specially reminded me of this, too. Hurry up and eat, eat well and get some sleep early."
Si Jun uncovered the bowl and pushed it in front of Si Han.
Both of them were somewhat hungry, and although the food was average, they quickly finished the porridge and dumplings.
Si Jun efficiently cleaned up the bowls and boxes, and was about to get up when Si Han handed him a glass of water.
Si Jun looked at her in surprise, silently took the glass, held it with both hands, and stared at the rising steam for a while before raising his head to meet Si Han’s dark eyes.
"Go ahead, what is it?"
Si Han had only mentioned liking someone in front of Si Jun once, during Tian Fang’s wedding, and afterward, Si Jun did seem to restrain himself for a while.
But perhaps because Si Han never introduced the person she liked, Si Jun misunderstood something. Recently, the way he looked at Si Han was clearly more complex.
"Si Jun, actually, I’m like you..."
Si Jun was abandoned as a baby and found in a park to be sent to the welfare institute.
"Huh?! What do you mean by ’like me’?" Clearly, Si Jun didn’t understand Si Han’s words.
He might have misunderstood, because a fleeting light flashed in his eyes.
"I was only a month old when I was abandoned by my parents. It was my brother who brought me back to the Ji Family."
Si Han didn’t want to dig into Si Jun’s pain, but without clarifying her origins, she couldn’t be honest about her relationship with her brother.
Si Jun evidently hadn’t considered this possibility, and stared at his cup in shock for a long time before carefully asking, "Is it something you found out recently?"
Si Han shook her head, "No, my mom told me the truth when I was sixteen."
Si Jun let out a long sigh of relief without trying to hide it, "I thought..."
"It’s okay, I’ve accepted this fact for a long time. And I..."
Si Han took a deep breath and looked straight at Si Jun, "The person I like is my brother, Ji Yu."
Si Jun stared at her in disbelief, seemingly unable to control himself, his voice raised several degrees, "What did you say?"
Seeing her friend like this made Si Han feel bad, but she knew she couldn’t back down.
She gritted her teeth and said more clearly, "The person I like is Ji Yu. We are now boyfriend and girlfriend."
"How can that be..." Si Jun’s face suddenly turned pale, his eyes full of gloom.
"Sorry for not telling you earlier..."
Though this is Si Han’s private matter and doesn’t need to be announced, even to good friends, she still felt apologetic because not telling him had allowed him unrealistic thoughts.
Si Jun raised his eyelids, looked at her blankly, then shook his head and silently got up and walked out.
Si Han also stood up, quickly following him out, "Si Jun, I’m sorry!"
Si Han held onto the door and once again apologized to the disconsolate Si Jun, whose very back exuded despair.
Si Jun stopped, turned to look at her, raised his hand to wave, forcing a weak smile.
"Silly, you didn’t do anything wrong, now go to sleep, goodnight!"
"Goodnight!"
Si Han watched him return to the room next door before retreating and closing the door.
Si Han lay in bed, wrapped tightly in her blanket, feeling depressed for a while before taking out her phone to make a call.
"Brother, I just told Si Jun about us."
At that time Da Bao had just finished showering and lay in bed, hesitating after hearing her words, then asked, "How did he react?"
Actually, Da Bao could pretty much imagine how Si Jun reacted.
Ever since Si Jun returned, Da Bao had thought about clarifying the relationship between himself and Nuonuo.
But Si Jun was Nuonuo’s best friend, and from what Da Bao knew, Si Jun never explicitly confessed to Nuonuo.
If he spoke out, it wouldn’t just make Nuonuo annoyed, it might make Si Jun think he was showing off or being overbearing.
This was why, even though Little Treasure hinted several times to resolve the Si Jun issue, Da Bao never took action.
Above all, he trusted Nuonuo.
He trusted that her heart belonged only to him, and believed she could handle the emotional relationship with Si Jun.
"Seems like..." Nuonuo paused, carefully choosing words so as not to let Da Bao misunderstand. Little did she know, both her and Si Jun’s feelings had long been seen through by Da Bao, just not exposed.
"Seems like he’s upset?" Da Bao asked back.
"Yeah..." Nuonuo turned over in bed, pulling the blanket tighter around her. "Yes, he’s pretty upset!"
"And you? Are you sad?" Da Bao asked again.
"Hmm... a little..." Nuonuo admitted, for she knew she was never good at scheming in front of Da Bao, because she couldn’t outsmart him. "He’s my best friend, seeing him like this makes me feel awful."
