Chapter 582 - 581 Yang Family (4)
The man wasn’t at all surprised by Le Tong’s toughness. Probably, after Yang Hao suffered yesterday, he went back and exaggerated her ’wonderful’ persona, so his uncle showed up today with the face of an elder ready to reprimand an ignorant junior."Ha, indeed a sharp-tongued and fierce character. No wonder as soon as you came back, you had the old man wrapped around your finger, lost his senses. In this regard, you are just like your father, provided, of course, you really are our niece."
The man kept looking at Le Tong with contempt, but Le Tong felt nothing. After all, she had no feelings for these three people, so she completely ignored their words and opinions.
"I really don’t know if I’m your niece. I only know that I am my father’s daughter, my grandfather’s granddaughter, and my brother’s sister. As for you, I haven’t verified, so I can’t be sure."
Le Tong’s words, if pondered carefully, were actually quite biting.
She implied that she had verified with Old Master and Yang Sheng, confirming she was family, but the three before her probably hadn’t gone through any verification with the Old Master, which means they have even less ground than Le Tong to question her identity as a member of the Yang Family.
The aunt, who had been watching the drama unfold, finally couldn’t help but chime in, "Tut-tut, I didn’t see it, this girl’s mouth is really venomous. We’ve had father and child bonds with the old man for decades, could it be less than this little girl from another generation? Whether we’re his real children, one look at our faces would tell, not like some people who have the face of a vixen..."
The ’vixen’ the aunt referred to was Le Tong, but the second uncle, perhaps stung by this term or unable to bear watching his siblings bullying Le Tong together, interrupted her.
"Big brother, Susu, Tongtong is Weikang’s daughter, that’s a solid fact! No matter what you say, you are her uncle and aunt; can’t you show some genuine care for her life of over twenty years? I’m not asking you to be overly enthusiastic, but must you resort to veiled insults to show your dignity as elders?"
Le Tong had repeatedly instructed at the study door earlier that Yang Sheng and Ji Rui didn’t need to protect her like a mother hen every day. What she needed to face, she could handle herself.
So, after coming out, Ji Rui and Yang Sheng were just sitting aside leisurely drinking tea, naturally trusting in Le Tong’s ability to protect herself and fight back when necessary.
Le Tong could still deftly manage a few elders on her own, but what she didn’t expect was that this second uncle, who she met for the first time, would stand up for her, even at the risk of offending his three siblings.
Le Tong smiled gratefully at her second uncle, "Second uncle, thank you! They didn’t insult me. Either they are insulting themselves, or they are questioning grandfather’s intelligence."
Le Tong was sitting facing the hallway, and she deliberately raised her voice when she saw the aged face there, evidently quite skilled in using borrowed authority.
After all, just like the Old Master said, as long as he is here, he calls the shots in this house.
Since Le Tong has undergone strict medical testing and received the old man’s recognition, anyone still squeaking here is being disrespectful to the Old Master.
"Who is questioning my intelligence?! Hmm?!" The old voice came from the hallway, and the previously contemptuous faces of the elders immediately changed.
"Dad, you’re back? The weather is so cold, you shouldn’t be running around like that." The uncle and aunt were the first to react, getting up and jogging over to help the old man.
"Humph, if you unfilial children stopped angering me for a moment, I could live a long, long life!"
The Old Master sternly shrugged off the support from his son and daughter, turned around, and embraced Baobao, his face immediately becoming incredibly kind, with aged hands resting on Baobao’s shoulders, "Baobao, go play with Nuonuo in the playroom for a while."
The Old Master had long recognized Baobao’s intelligence and thoughtfulness, so he didn’t want this child to see any unpleasantness.
"Okay!" Baobao cheerfully ran over and climbed onto Le Tong, giving her a couple of pecks on the cheek, then whispered in her ear, "Mommy, they didn’t bully you, right?"
Le Tong tugged at his little cheeks and smiled, "No, Baobao’s mommy is a superwoman, you know!"
Baobao giggled, it was clear he had confidence in his mommy too.
"Superwoman mommy, these are flowers for you." Baobao shoved a bunch of unnamed fresh flowers into Le Tong’s arms, slipped off her, and without looking at the other elders, turned to help Aunt Wang push Nuonuo away.
The Old Master watched as the child walked away, then went to sit by Le Tong’s side, accepting the ginger tea for warmth from Uncle Jing, taking a slow sip before lovingly speaking to Le Tong.
"Girl, this is your home, stay as long as you like, you can direct people however you want here, including me and your brother, understand?"
"Grandfather, I understand, thank you, grandfather, thank you, brother!" Le Tong obediently thanked the Old Master and Yang Sheng.
On the other side, the uncle, aunt, and fourth uncle all had changed expressions.
They should know, they are all the Old Master’s sons and daughters, yet every time they come back, they had to call first to report, and only with the Old Master’s approval would the security let them in.
Moreover, ever since the Old Master placed them at various residences, he wouldn’t show a good face to them whenever they came back.
So, just the privileges of coming and going freely, staying as one pleases, were something beyond their reach.
Let alone freely directing anyone, including the grand Old Master and Yang Sheng, this current leader who acts as if he doesn’t know them.
The several siblings over there, besides the second uncle leisurely sipping his tea, the fourth uncle and third aunt were desperately giving the older uncle the eye, signaling him to stand up and say something fair for everyone.
The older uncle hesitated for quite a while, finally licking his lips, rubbing his palms, and forced himself to speak to the Old Master.
"Dad! Even if she is really Weikang’s daughter, aren’t you being too biased?!"
"You fool, what do you mean ’even if she is’? She is indeed! Speaking of which, with all of you being so utterly useless, I really doubt whether you are my biological children!"
The Old Master’s words mirrored what Le Tong had said astonishingly closely.
The three siblings’ faces changed again, the fourth uncle, who hadn’t spoken much, murmured half resentfully, half angrily.
"Dad! When Weikang left, when did he ever contribute to the company? Leaving us siblings to toil like oxen, yet even going home now requires your approval. Isn’t this favoritism?"
