Chapter 556 - 555: The Revolving Feng Shui (Second Update)
Le Tong relaxed in the bath, drifting into a half-sleep until Ji Rui anxiously knocked on the door, "Le Tong, are you done yet?""Oh...almost there..."
Le Tong was startled awake, shaking off her drowsiness, and hastily washed and dried herself, put on her clothes, and opened the door.
Ji Rui stood outside, frowning with worry when he saw her emerge.
"Are you okay?" he asked cautiously, gently touching her forehead, his scrutinizing gaze quickly scanning her from head to toe.
Le Tong smiled slightly, knowing he was worried about her, afraid she hadn’t gotten over it.
"No, I’m not that fragile, just a bit tired and accidentally fell asleep."
The bathroom was filled with steam, combined with Le Tong soaking for over half an hour, her face was flushed red, adding a touch of grogginess from just waking up, she seemed quite different from the usual shrewd or gentle Le Tong.
Her misty eyes made her look adorably cute, and a few strands of hair draped around her collarbone gave her an extra hint of sensuality...
Ji Rui’s throat tightened at the sight, but his rationality told him that he had been too intense last night, so tonight, at any cost, she must get a good rest.
"Alright, go lie down on the bed."
Ji Rui kissed her on the lips, not even daring to hug her.
The alluring scenes from last night flashed through his mind like a fast play, making his entire body feel a rush of heat, he couldn’t guarantee that if he hugged her, he’d still be able to let her go.
Le Tong’s nerves, which had been tense all day, finally relaxed; this man before her was currently the one person who made her feel most at ease.
So, she obediently climbed onto the bed.
Watching Ji Rui slip into the bathroom, she assumed he was going to bathe, but the next moment, he returned with a hairdryer in hand.
"Come over, let’s dry your hair."
The man kneeled on one knee at the bedside with the hairdryer, and Le Tong, initially wrapped in a quilt leaning against the bed, obediently crawled over to him, half-lying against his body, letting him lift her hair and blow it dry.
"With today’s matter, just let nature take its course." Ji Rui’s voice wasn’t loud, but in the whooshing of the dryer, it reached Le Tong’s ears quite clearly.
"Mhm..." Le Tong squirmed a bit, comfortably resting her face against Ji Rui’s body.
There was a scent on him that reassured her, she found it increasingly impossible to resist this relaxation-inducing fragrance, and probably, she couldn’t bear to part from it.
"Anyway, in all this, you’re not at fault, so whatever you choose, there’s no guilt involved, understand?"
Ji Rui knew Le Tong was soft-hearted, although he wished she’d receive more love from the elders, if such love would upset or trouble her, he’d rather she be a bit colder, a bit more selfish.
"Hmm..."
Le Tong felt that President Ji’s words of comfort were becoming more smooth, more considerate, and increasingly convincing.
By the time Ji Rui finished drying her hair, Le Tong was snuggled in his arms, half-asleep.
Ji Rui quietly gazed at her for a while, then gently kissed her on the forehead and lips, softly laid her down on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and restrainedly kissed her a few more times before slipping into the bathroom to shower and resolve his arising desire.
Originally, he had planned to ask her about last night’s feelings.
But seeing her exhausted, he felt too guilty to bother her more. After showering, he checked the time, not yet ten o’clock, and decided to send a message to Yang Sheng.
"Awake?"
Yang Sheng’s reply came quickly: "No, having a drink?"
"Sure!"
Le Tong, unaware of her surroundings after she fell asleep, couldn’t have known that Ji Rui and Yang Sheng drank and chatted in Yang Sheng’s bedroom bar until around two in the morning. Because, when she woke the next day, it was in Ji Rui’s embrace.
Consequently, she assumed Ji Rui had gone to sleep shortly after her.
"Awake?" Ji Rui seemed early to rise, as she opened her eyes, a gentle kiss fell upon her.
"Mmm..." Le Tong sleepily responded.
Ji Rui’s good morning kiss was tender, like the spring morning breeze filled with warm sunlight brushing against her face, soft and warm, making her want to close her eyes again in comfort.
After the kiss, Ji Rui’s lips touched her nose tip. "Want to sleep more?"
Le Tong lazily opened her eyes and shook her head, "No, if I sleep more, I’ll miss the flight."
Yet, this reason, in Ji Rui’s eyes, hardly was an excuse not to laze in bed.
"If you want to sleep, then sleep more, miss this flight, there’s still another, if not, let Yang Sheng use his private jet to take us back."
Ji Rui’s excessively indulgent behavior left Le Tong at a loss for words.
Her heart felt a bit sweet, a bit shy, and a bit helpless.
"Come on, there’s no need to do all that just for me to sleep a little longer, I’m not that privileged." Le Tong supported herself up, trying to sit up.
Ji Rui, however, pressed her shoulder, "No, your sleep is more important than anything else!"
His handsome face approached, forehead against forehead, as if to better observe whether she’d truly rested well.
"Ji Rui..." Le Tong helplessly bumped her forehead against his, of course with little force; even if she wasn’t worried about hurting him, she still feared the pain herself.
"I’m serious, you barely slept the night before last, right? In any case, a day or half a day back won’t make the sky fall."
Previously, Ji Rui prioritized work above all else. Nothing was more important than his work.
But now, he was willing to repeatedly miss flight after flight, even crucial meetings for Le Tong to get a full rest.
"Ji Rui, I’m not made of paper, okay? Even if you really overdid it the night before last, an entire day’s worth of rest is enough for me to recover."
Le Tong wasn’t thick-skinned, and saying this made her blush uncontrollably, but she needed Ji Rui to understand that the event the night before last wasn’t as difficult for her to recover from as he assumed.
Ji Rui seriously looked at her again, confirming her spirit and complexion were really good, clearly she had rested enough and rebounded.
"Alright then, let’s get up."
Finally free to move without being treated like an invalid, Le Tong got out of bed and headed to the restroom.
When she came out, Ji Rui was already dressed, and the clothes she needed were neatly folded on the bed, prepared by Ji Rui.
Le Tong couldn’t help but laugh, Ji Rui was puzzled by her laughter, raising an eyebrow, "What’s so funny?"
Le Tong barely managed to stop laughing, "I didn’t expect Mr. Ji would have a day serving me!"
A year or so ago, these tasks were what she, as his secretary, did for him.
"Fortunes do turn!" Ji Rui nonchalantly replied.
