On the other end, Ji Rui suddenly heard the busy tone, hesitated for a moment, then realized the call had been disconnected.

Ji Rui frowned, stared at the screen in a daze for a while, contemplating whether to call back, but eventually decided not to push her too hard.

He put the phone on the bed, picked up a sweater and put it on with delight. Feeling very satisfied with his outfit in front of the mirror, Ji Rui took his first-ever selfie. After taking the photo, he pulled up Le Tong’s number and typed "Am I handsome?" before sending the photo.

Le Tong, still dazing on the couch, heard the notification sound, opened the message, and saw the spirited man filling the screen, wearing the sweater she bought him.

Ji Baby glanced at the tightly closed bedroom door, "Mommy went to take a shower!"

"Mommy looked at your picture before she went to the shower." Ji Baby, quite aware of what affected his daddy’s mood, quickly added.

The voice on the other end suddenly changed, "Did she say anything?"

Ji Baby peeked at the door again, "No, she didn’t say anything. She just handed me the phone and went to shower."

Silence ensued, and Ji Baby added, "But, mommy’s face was a bit red..."

"Darling, daddy loves you!" The usually reticent man was surprisingly expressive to the little one.

"Baby, go take a shower, then sleep well."

Ji Baby clung to Le Tong’s neck, giving her two smooches, "Mommy, won’t you sleep with me?"

"Hm, mommy has to study. Be good, wash up, then go to sleep."

Le Tong kissed Ji Baby a few times and patted his butt to urge him on.

Once Ji Baby was out of his bath and had said goodnight, Le Tong tidied up the living room, settled down, and studied in earnest.
