Chapter 1014 - 1012: I’ll Take You Home
Zhu Qianyu and Ji Huan are only two years apart in age, so logically, there shouldn’t be a generation gap between them. In their previous meetings, Zhu Qianyu never felt there was a big difference between her and him.But now, she didn’t know whether it was because he hadn’t deliberately hidden it, or if after witnessing his brilliance and extensive knowledge, being so close to him brought an invisible pressure...
Even though he always seemed gentle to her, the closer she got, the more she could truly feel that he was a person with a very strong presence and aura.
Even though he wasn’t much older than Zhu Qianyu’s classmates, she knew very well that he was different from her classmates. It was almost like they were from two completely different worlds.
So it was normal for her to feel a bit at a loss.
"Don’t worry too much about the internship. Just go and meet the supervisor. They shouldn’t make it hard for you."
His words were as gentle as they were in previous private moments. Although she didn’t want to admit it, his words indeed put her at ease. She looked up, nodded at him, and then asked the question that had been on her mind all afternoon, "Mr. Ji, are you an employee of Xinying?"
For a split second, a ridiculous thought crossed her mind — could he actually be a new star that Xinying plans to promote?
After all, he had the appearance, figure, and temperament of a quality idol.
Ji Huan chuckled, "I’m not!" As if he saw through her thoughts, he asked, "Did you think I’m an artist?"
Zhu Qianyu felt a bit embarrassed and wanted to shake her head, but in the end, she obediently nodded.
The smile in Ji Huan’s eyes deepened. Since he was young, he had often been mistaken for a celebrity. But never once had it made him so happy.
Did this mean that in her eyes, his looks and appearance were stunning and even admirable?
The young master had no idea; from the start, she thought he was excessively handsome. It was just his inner qualities and demeanor that left much to be desired.
"Although I’m not an employee or artist of Xinying, I do know that Xinying values ability and efficiency. So as long as you put in some effort, there shouldn’t be a problem."
During this period of interaction, the young master was very clear that she was a serious and conscientious person; otherwise, he wouldn’t have rashly introduced her to Xinying.
"Do I need to pay attention to anything for the interview tomorrow? Like attire or any specific language or details required?"
After his comforting words, Zhu Qianyu was visibly more relaxed, but she still felt the need to clarify some details.
Seeing her question, the young master’s eyes indulgently lingered on her fresh, makeup-free face, nodded in satisfaction, and then turned his gaze to her outfit.
She wore a light yellow bat-sleeve knitted top, a knee-length denim skirt, and flat running shoes, making her look vibrant and energetic.
"Hmm, dressing like today is fine; you don’t need to be too deliberate."
Zhu Qianyu’s face couldn’t help but turn red. Thankfully, the food was served quickly, and the waiter’s knock on the door saved her from her awkwardness.
The waiter was evidently new, and for a round table, she insisted on serving between Zhu Qianyu and the young master.
Her lack of manners gave Zhu Qianyu time to gather her emotions and discreetly move her chair back slightly, unseen by Ji Huan. With that done, she breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"Mr. Ji, would you like to eat?"
"Yes, two bowls for me. What about you?" The young master always had a good appetite and didn’t hide it.
However, compared to guys who could eat four or five bowls in one go, the young master was still quite genteel.
"I’ll have one bowl. Please bring three bowls of rice," she told the waitress.
When the dishes arrived, steaming and fragrant, at first, Zhu Qianyu was a bit uneasy holding her rice, but the young master ate heartily with relish and gradually, she relaxed as well.
Zhu Qianyu had spent the afternoon tidying up the dorm, and the young master had been busy too. By this time, both were quite hungry, and the food was indeed delicious. So they focused on eating rather than chatting.
But the young master, seizing this close interaction and being a natural at setting the mood, didn’t let the atmosphere get cold.
After eating a bowl of rice, the young master’s pace slowed noticeably, occasionally glancing at her and asking questions about her studies and major.
Perhaps it was due to the time spent together or becoming more familiar, but Zhu Qianyu’s initial resistance to him had lessened significantly.
For such ordinary questions that didn’t touch on any personal privacy, she answered them readily.
The young master was very satisfied with her responses. Although the questions seemed mundane, they allowed him to understand her personality subtly through these small details.
After the meal, Zhu Qianyu called over the waiter to settle the bill, which came to over two hundred RMB. Surprisingly, the young master didn’t argue over it, which made Zhu Qianyu a bit taken aback.
To be honest, she appreciated straightforward men like him. In her view, men who bickered over bills were fussy and almost got on her nerves.
The waiter took three hundred RMB, and the young master asked her, "Do you need me to take you there tomorrow?"
He asked, already expecting her to refuse.
Sure enough, without even thinking, she said, "No need, Mr. Ji. I’m used to getting up early and can take the bus myself."
The young master nodded, carefully explaining which bus she should take and also giving her Tian Fang’s number.
"This Sister Fang is quite familiar with me. When you arrive tomorrow, call her, and she’ll pick you up from the station."
Zhu Qianyu saved Tian Fang’s contact information and walked out of the restaurant with the young master.
Standing together at the restaurant entrance, just as Zhu Qianyu was about to say goodbye, the young master said, "I’ll walk you home!"
"Mr. Ji, there’s no need. It’s only a few minutes’ walk. You’re tired; you should head back and get some rest," Zhu Qianyu waved her hand repeatedly and jogged onto the sidewalk.
But the young master wasn’t someone to be easily dismissed. Taking a few long strides, he caught up with her and walked alongside her.
"I ate too much. A walk will help with digestion."
Zhu Qianyu could no longer refuse, so she turned her face towards the main road, trying not to look at him.
"By the way, the cake you made last time was delicious. Did you come up with the recipe yourself, or was it from the internet?"
