The disc contained sounds and images representing Earth's various cultures and life, as well as many natural sounds, including waves, wind, thunder, and animal calls such as birdsong and whale song. Additionally, they selected Music from different cultures and eras and included greetings in 55 languages spoken by humans from Earth.

It seemed to be listening, listening to the small Golden Disc before it, to the voices emanating from it.

Everything that came from Earth.

Su Ying understood.

She finally understood where the bizarre whisper originated, why it sounded so familiar, as if she had heard similar language before.

Because it was essentially Earth's language, Earth's Voice.

But it was countless Earth's voices blended together, forming a sound capable of eroding human spirit and will—a sound filled with malevolent Power, a profane sound.
