Chapter 427
Chapter 427
“Morning~ Ning Chu!”
No matter when or where, Yan Xinya was always brimming with energy, like a husky that never seemed to run out of stamina.
She charged over enthusiastically, her rosy cheeks pressing toward Ning Chu, her tail wagging so hard it almost left afterimages.
Ning Chu wore a look of utter resignation. She reached out and pressed a hand against the soft little face trying to cuddle up to her, sighing helplessly.
“Stop it. I’m in a bad mood.”
“What’s wrong?!”
She lifted her foot and kicked at the air a couple of times.
“My shoes got water in them. It feels awful…”
Having just gotten through winter, the chilblains on her toes hadn’t healed yet. Now that water had seeped into her shoes, her feet felt icy cold, dragging her mood down even further.
“Wen Yang! What’s going on with you?!” Yan Xinya demanded.Wen Yang brushed the rainwater off his shoulders. Hearing her accusation, he could only give a wry smile.
“She sees water and just has to step in it. I couldn’t stop her. How could her shoes not get soaked?”
Yan Xinya: “So childish~”
“……”
Men are boys until the day they die, okay?! What’s wrong with being a little childish?!
Even if she’d already become a succubus, was it a crime for a trace of a youthful soul to remain?!
Ning Chu didn’t bother explaining. She listlessly sat down at her desk.
The damp chill of the humid season was even harder to endure than the dry cold of winter. Even though the temperature had climbed past ten degrees Celsius, it still felt miserable.
She regretted dressing nicely in a knit sweater and skirt today—she really should’ve stuck with her thick down jacket.
Wen Yang casually hung the umbrella on the hook beside the desk, sat down next to Ning Chu, and asked in a low voice, “Check what the deal is with the girl living across from us.”
“Why the rush? Are you that excited?” Ning Chu replied.
“Not really…”
She rolled her eyes at him, pulled out her phone, and opened her encrypted document to start checking.
The new neighbor’s traits were obvious—flat-chested, red hair… So within two minutes, the little succubus’s face turned pale. Then she looked flustered and uneasy, lifting her head to stare pitifully at Wen Yang.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“This… doesn’t look good…”
Ning Chu swallowed, a faint blush of embarrassment spreading across her face. As if remembering something, she quickly turned to Lily and Yan Xinya beside her and warned them seriously, “From now on, don’t go out at night anymore! Go straight back to the dorm after class—don’t even go to the cafeteria!”
“Huh?”
Her grave tone made both Yan Xinya and Lily freeze.
“What’s going on?” Yan Xinya asked.
“I heard there’s a pervert around campus. It might be dangerous at night!”
Lily remained cool and expressionless, but Yan Xinya’s ears and tail instantly bristled as she glanced around nervously.
“Is that true?!”
The wolf girl’s combat strength was absurdly high—but her bravery was just as absurdly small.
“It’s true! And he’s a rapist-murderer!”
“No way?! Haven’t the police caught him yet?!”
She panicked even more, throwing her arms around the petite, delicate Lily. Trembling, she looked like a frightened little puppy.
“It takes time, you know. It’s not that fast…” Ning Chu replied.
Seeing that her scare tactics were working, Ning Chu finally relaxed a little. She turned to look at Wen Yang, who was watching with curiosity.
“So? What is it?” he asked.
She bit her lower lip and leaned in close to his ear, whispering, “I found it. There’s only one red-haired girl in the book.”
“When you put it that way, I think I remember her too…”
“She’s a magical girl!”
Wen Yang froze. His mind immediately jumped to the headless senior, but then he realized this magical girl came from that kind of novel.
And paired with a magical girl would be… tentacle monsters!
Could something that fantastical really exist in this world?
“Why on earth did you ever decide to write this kind of thing back then?!”
Ning Chu’s cheeks visibly flushed crimson. Overwhelmed with shame, she lowered her head and muttered hesitantly, “Back then… maybe my threshold was just too high… I was always into really heavy stuff.”
“The more I read, the more I wanted to write…”
Feeling guilty, she patted Wen Yang on the back.
“It’s fine. This is just a side story—there’s no role for you in it.”
This was bad. Really bad.
How was she supposed to resolve this plot by substituting herself in for a heroine?!
Leaving aside whether or not Wen Yang would get “cucked”… holy crap! Even magical girls couldn’t withstand tentacle monsters! Let alone her—a little succubus!
The more Ning Chu thought about it, the more panicked she became. What was worse, that side story didn’t even have an ending!
Back then, her extreme tastes had only lasted a few days. She’d happily written a few segments, then suddenly found training and pet-play more exciting, so she’d unceremoniously axed the tentacle arc and ran off to write a “development diary” instead.
As a result, even Ning Chu herself had no idea whether, after those few short scenes in the side story, the tentacle monster would continue lurking around campus and defiling girls—or get completely wiped out by the magical girl.
Honestly speaking, short hentai novels having no ending was pretty normal. At worst, it was just the hentai protagonist encountering one girl after another.
But who the hell would’ve thought that a self-indulgent side-story left unfinished would come with consequences like this?!
“This is bad, this is really bad…” Ning Chu collapsed, covering her face as she muttered frantically.
“Why the hell did I write this crap in the first place—!”
“You’ve complained about that more times than I can count,” Wen Yang replied.
“Then why are you still so calm?” she demanded.
Wen Yang sighed.
“What else can I do? Thinking calmly about a solution is better than panicking.”
“Ning Chu~ you weren’t deliberately trying to scare me earlier, were you?”
Yan Xinya asked anxiously from the side. Watching Ning Chu and Wen Yang whisper to each other, their expressions growing more troubled by the second, she felt even more uneasy.
“Just don’t go out at night,” Ning Chu could only remind her best friend for now.
Clutching her phone, she hesitated, unsure whether she should send a warning message in the class group chat.
After all, the tentacle monster in the book didn’t eat people. And if someone could endure it—and was even into that kind of tentacle XP…
It was still only the first class of the morning. Better to figure out what was going on first.
What if the tentacle monster hadn’t even appeared yet?
Ning Chu hurriedly logged into the school forum and skimmed through it, finally letting out a small sigh of relief.
Thankfully, there were no posts about victims, no rumors of hauntings on campus at night—just trivial gossip and idle chatter. Some people were even organizing a spontaneous “campus belle” ranking.
She clicked in to take a look. One of her casual photos was prominently displayed among the campus belle candidates.
Glancing at the other candidates, she noted that all these high-looks-value girls suspiciously resembled a hentai heroines—worth jotting down in her little notebook.
She drifted through the morning classes in a haze of worry…
Her shoes were still icy and damp. Holding an umbrella, Ning Chu followed behind Wen Yang with a troubled expression as they left the classroom.
Ever since realizing that this university was the main stage of her hentai novel, she’d been worrying about the tentacle monster. No matter how hard she tried to avoid it, she’d still ended up running into it after all.
Wen Yang looked at Ning Chu, hesitating as if he wanted to say something.
“What is it?” she asked.
“Why are you holding an umbrella too?”
“……”
Only then did Ning Chu notice that Wen Yang also had a folding umbrella in his hand. Comparing it with her own, the two umbrellas were identical in color and design. Who knew which unlucky person’s umbrella she’d swiped.
“It’s fine. I’ll ask around this afternoon. The rain isn’t even that heavy anyway.”
She muttered this, but suddenly stopped in her tracks and sharply turned her head. At the far end of the corridor, a flash of striking red passed by.
That magical girl? Red hair was way too eye-catching.
Ning Chu tilted her head in suspicion.
Shouldn’t you be going to look for the tentacle monster? What are you coming after me for?!
