Chapter 423

Trapped in Paradise

“There are two succubi in our class~ such great figures~”

“Especially that black-haired, long-straight one! She’s obviously super shy but keeps a straight face—so cute! I really want to take her home~”

“The short-haired one is even prettier and has an even better body!”

Groups of girls filed out of the classroom, chatting animatedly about the two succubi in their yoga class.

Wen Yang leaned against the corridor railing, listening to their discussion about Ning Chu, and finally let out a breath of relief.

They all seemed pretty friendly.

Maybe Ning Chu would be able to make some new friends among them.

He didn’t have to wait long before a little succubus rushed out of the classroom in a hurry, flung herself at him, wrapped her arms around his waist, and buried her flushed face into his chest.

The horns—already as long as an index finger—jabbed into Wen Yang’s ribs, making him suck in a sharp breath. The little succubus also let out a soft cry of pain.

Even so, he lowered his head, gently stroking her hair, and asked softly, “What’s wrong?”

“A bunch of girls were staring at me while I was changing… ahhh~ my sense of shame is about to explode!”

“They just kept staring! And someone even tried to grab my tail!”

“Next time I have yoga class, I’ll wear the yoga clothes underneath in advance—then I won’t have to change!”

Yan Xinya and Lily finally strolled out of the classroom at a leisurely pace. They happened to catch Ning Chu’s complaints, and the wolf girl smiled as she shot them down.

“That definitely won’t work~ After class you’ll be all sweaty—are you really going to put your coat back on and trap all that heat?”

Hearing her friends arrive, Ning Chu quickly let go of Wen Yang’s waist and muttered, “The yoga class wasn’t that tiring, so I won’t sweat that much.”

Ning Chu looked up at Lily, who seemed to share the same troubles—but Lily just blushed and lowered her head.

They were all girls, yet the shyest ones in the changing room had been the two succubus.

Ning Chu stopped dwelling on it and tugged on Wen Yang’s arm as they headed for the stairs.

“Let’s go—want to grab dinner together? I’m starving.”

“Food! Food!” Yan Xinya immediately darted ahead, urging them on. “Hurry up! Time to eat!”

The yoga class was only forty-five minutes long. It had started at 6:30, and now it was just past seven—perfect dinner time.

Even though the first class wasn’t very intense, after moving around a bit, Ning Chu’s stomach was already growling.

The sky was completely dark now, with no stars or moon in sight. Under the night sky, the four of them arrived at the quiet cafeteria.

It wasn’t even 7:30 yet, but more than half of the stalls were already closed. The cleaning staff were mopping the floors, and only a few scattered students remained inside.

Ning Chu scanned the still-open stalls and spotted a dumpling shop that had just opened for the new semester.

“Wen Yang! I want dumplings!”

She tugged on Wen Yang’s arm and pointed toward the dumpling stall.

“Alright. Go find a seat—I’ll buy them for you.”

Ning Chu found a seat and sat down alone, reaching up to touch the horns beneath her hood.

After completing the twin sisters' plotlines, not only had her horns grown longer, but the sisters themselves had vanished without a trace. Clearly, her strategy had worked.

I’m a genius~

She could avoid the arousal punishment that came with breaking the plot, make those bad women lose interest in Wen Yang, and even confidently practice some new ‘combat stance’...

“Ning Chu?” Lily sat down across from her, tilting her head in confusion as she looked at her. “You’re smiling really… lewdly.”

“I’m not!”

“You are.”

Being stared at by that cool, icy face, Ning Chu hurriedly reined in the strange fantasies running through her head and changed the subject.

“What did you order?”

“Beef noodles.” Lily pointed toward a nearby stall. “They’re good.”

“I’m not that into noodles. I’ll try them some other time…”

“Mm.”

Lily had always been quiet. After that brief exchange, she lowered her head and went back to playing on her phone.

They didn’t wait long before Wen Yang returned, carrying two bowls of soup dumplings.

“Chive and pork, and shrimp with mixed fillings,” he said as he sat down beside Ning Chu and handed her a spoon. “Try them and see how they taste.”

“Soup dumplings, huh…”

Ning Chu scooped one up, blew on it a few times, then carefully bit through the skin. A single scalding dumpling took her a full half minute to finish.

“It’s so-so. Not as good as my mom’s,” she frowned and muttered. “The filling’s too loose—you can’t even taste the meat properly.”

“Then how about I buy some meat this weekend and make them for you?”

“Okay! I’ll ask my mom for the recipe!”

Their rented place didn’t have a range hood, so stir-frying wasn’t an option, but they had all the pots and bowls they needed. Boiling, steaming, cooking dumplings or noodles—no problem at all.

“Make way, make way!”

Yan Xinya came back carrying a bowl of spicy mix nearly as big as her face. She plopped it heavily onto the table, making it seem like the whole table shook.

This girl’s appetite was no worse than Wen Yang’s.

“Hey! Ning Chu, why are you dipping dumplings in ketchup?!” After taking a couple of bites, the wolf girl suddenly noticed Ning Chu’s strange habit. “Shouldn’t you normally dip them in vinegar?!”

“Huh? I like ketchup.”

Ning Chu had eaten dumplings with ketchup since she was a child—her whole family did. Before leaving home for university, she’d never thought there was anything odd about it.

“Heretic! Let me try a bite! Aaah~”

Rolling her eyes, Ning Chu stuffed a ketchup-dipped dumpling straight into Yan Xinya’s wide-open mouth. “Burn yourself!”

“It’s not hot~ Still… that’s really weird… Lily, you try it too?”

Lily shook her head and obediently continued eating her beef noodles.

“Then let me try your noodles!”

Watching the two girls fool around, Ning Chu drank a couple of spoonfuls of soup to warm herself up, then pushed her bowl of dumplings toward Wen Yang.

“Not eating anymore?”

“They’re not good,” she complained. “They’re supposedly handmade on the spot, but they’re worse than frozen dumplings.”

One of the key uses of having a boyfriend was being able to shove all the bad food you bought into his stomach.

After all, men weren't picky—and Wen Yang had a big appetite.

“How much were the dumplings?”

“Twenty yuan.”

Hearing the price, Ning Chu got even angrier. “That expensive, and they’re still this bad!”

Seeing her indignation, Wen Yang smiled and soothed her. “It’s fine. Just think of it as me treating you.”

Ning Chu replied righteously, “Isn’t your money basically my money anyway?”

“Yes, yes. Do you want anything else to eat?”

“Mmm… maybe let’s just order takeout when we get back? The cafeteria’s about to close.”

When they’d first come in, there had still been other students around. Now, their table was the only one left.

The cleaning staff had already shut both side doors, leaving only the main entrance half open for them to leave.
