Chapter 1147: The Third Point
Chapter 1147: The Third Point
The side courtyard of the Plain-Clothed Dao had already been nearly destroyed earlier during Mo Mo’s clash with the 71st generation. Or rather, it had been forcefully expanded, now only half a wall remained—along with a solitary phoenix tree.
Following Du Lin’s steps, Mo Mo walked inside the remains of that half-wall.
Everything around had crystallized, as if turned into tiny figures and thrown into a crystal ore vein… Walking through the ‘crystal trees,’ Mo Mo arrived at what used to be the meditation chamber of the courtyard.
Lai Caisheng and the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart were there.
Within this space encircled by ‘crystal trees,’ a faint emerald hue lingered in the air—even the soil had taken on the same color.
A gaze shot from beneath one of the ‘crystal trees’—Mo Mo also saw that Daoist Association secretary.
Du Lin now faced both Lai Caisheng and the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart, standing before them. “Mo Mo has agreed.”
“Thank you for your efforts,” Lai Caisheng nodded.
The 71st generation of Heavenly Heart looked at Mo Mo and bowed. “Daoist friend Mo Mo, your name will surely be remembered for all eternity.”
“Probably in infamy,” Mo Mo shook his head. “Turns out I was too soft when I beat you up last time.”The 71st generation of Heavenly Heart smiled slightly. “Either way, now that you’re here, our goals temporarily align.”
Mo Mo exhaled and said seriously, “Don’t let me catch you playing dirty. I may not be able to beat Lai Caisheng, but don’t think I can’t strike first… I’m a cat. I’ve got lives.”
Hmm… bluffing never hurts.
At their level, cultivation and mentality are mostly about psychological warfare—not like the impulsive youth. The higher you climb, the more things you must consider… exponentially.
“I see. Even after such heavy injuries, not only are you fully healed, but better than before.” Lai Caisheng stood with hands behind his back. “I must say, I truly admire the skills of that mysterious person behind you… Could this be the work of a true immortal?”
Mo Mo smiled and made a zipper motion across his lips.
Lai Caisheng didn’t mind. “The revival of spiritual energy is right around the corner, yet the man behind you has never shown himself. It seems he believes that you alone are enough to handle everything… or perhaps everything is already under his control.”
Mo Mo shrugged—truth was, he had no idea either.
Senior Luo had always been a mystery. Ever since he met him in that fishing village by the sea, the man had stayed enigmatic—likely someone who could remain mysterious for a lifetime.
“That man behind you… is he a Transcendent?”
As Mo Mo pondered, Lai Caisheng brought up a term unfamiliar to him.
“What’s a Transcendent?” Mo Mo replied calmly. “I’ve heard of Avengers and Watchers, but never Transcendents. Is that some kind of alliance? Do they have a movie?”
Lai Caisheng smiled lightly, folding his hands. “Transcendents are individuals who have transcended this world—freed from the will of this world.”
“You mean immortals?” Mo Mo frowned… just how many secrets were these Plain-Clothed Dao guys hiding?
“Transcendents can be immortals. But not all immortals are Transcendents,” Lai Caisheng explained slowly. “Transcendents no longer belong to the world. If they forcibly return, they still must obey its rules… They’re a group the world itself rejects. That might explain why the man behind you refuses to show himself.”
“Heh… so you’re saying he is one, huh?” Mo Mo waved casually, then glanced at the sky. “Enough talk. You guys get ready… and I’ll be ready too.”
With a swish, the nameless black sword sprang out. Fierce power gathered but didn’t release… Mo Mo looked toward the peak of Mount Tai—he had promised Du Lin. Now it all came down to what happened at the summit. That would decide whether he struck.
Time ticked down. Less than a minute to midnight… even Du Lin was starting to sweat.
Thirty seconds… twenty-nine…
Suddenly, Lai Caisheng asked, “Was it really I who told you about the Bodhi Sanskrit Chant?”
Mo Mo grinned and mouthed without sound: You guess.
Lai Caisheng slowly closed his eyes.
Mo Mo took a deep breath, clearing his mind of distractions.
At last, seven beams of light shot out from different directions, converging in the night sky. A thunderous dragon’s roar echoed through the heavens.
Mo Mo’s power surged into the nameless black wooden sword—Du Lin simultaneously transformed into his demon form, a massive jade-green qilin, shielding Lai Caisheng and the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart.
But then, the earth trembled. A blinding light burst from the summit of Mount Tai—split in two before their eyes.
Moments later, a violent gust of wind swept through, blowing away the few intact bricks of Croaching Dragon Estate. Even a single breath of this wind carried immense spiritual energy.
Mo Mo’s skyrocketing aura deflated like a balloon. The spiritual-energy-charged wind quickly subsided.
Mo Mo let out a heavy breath, expression serious. “Lai Caisheng, I hope you won’t try anything sneaky next.”
Seeing Mo Mo give up on attacking, Du Lin returned to human form and stood behind Lai Caisheng… and in the distance, the secretary also sighed in relief.
Lai Caisheng slowly opened his eyes. Mo Mo couldn’t read any hint of tension in them—even the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart had a brief moment of emotional disturbance earlier.
“No… you tricked me!” Mo Mo suddenly raised his sword. “Why was the spiritual energy outburst so weak?”
“That was just the prelude,” the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart replied solemnly. “The real impact is about to arrive… you’ve waited this long, why not a little longer?”
Without waiting for Mo Mo’s reaction, the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart raised his arm—where the seven Spiritual Energy Pillars converged, an Earth Spirit Sword formed again and shot over rapidly, landing in his hands.
Now holding the Earth Spirit Sword with both hands, its tip pointed at the ground but not piercing it, the 71st generation maintained the posture solemnly.
At the same time, Lai Caisheng slowly spread his arms—an overwhelming surge of power erupted from his body.
At this moment, Mo Mo suddenly felt a chill in his heart—for Lai Caisheng’s cultivation had already surpassed him by far. In comparison, even though he himself had planted both power and spirit into the Enlightened Dao Realm during reincarnation, the gap between them was like heaven and earth!
His spiritual power materialized, and around Lai Caisheng, the surging power actually formed into a massive landscape painting!
“This is… the land of the Divine Land?” Mo Mo muttered.
On that enormous landscape painting, twelve shining lights appeared—like twelve coiled divine dragons. At this moment, they began to move, all swimming toward the same direction.
“Could these be the twelve ancestral veins of the Divine Land?” Mo Mo took a deep breath.
Lai Caisheng said slowly, “The moment they converge will be the true eruption of the spiritual energy sealed for thousands of years.”
A drop of cold sweat slid down Mo Mo’s forehead.
The speed of this convergence… was too fast.
…
…
If one were to draw a straight line connecting the erupting spiritual energy point at the summit of Mount Tai and Croaching Dragon Estate, and then plot a perfect equilateral triangle by finding the third point using precise positioning—then this location would be it.
A small, unremarkable waterfall in a secluded forest.
Nearby villages had passed down legends about the child of the Dragon God—and in that legend, the child’s name was Hope.
The storm from the prelude of the spiritual energy eruption had also destroyed most of the surrounding forest. The terrain around this centuries-old legendary waterfall had shifted.
“Hmm… Boss, what are these twelve earthworm-looking things?”
On a boulder beside the waterfall pool, Miss Nero was slicing open a honeycomb she’d just pulled from the woods with her beloved Enma Blade.
Golden honey had coated her hand. Yet Miss Nero didn’t waste a drop, happily licking her fingers. Since she understood Boss Luo’s obsession with food, she didn’t argue with him about eating at this moment.
She only teased.
“How about… you change your name to Winnie?”
“Will I get a raise if I do?” Miss Nero looked up while sucking her thumb and blinking playfully. “If it gets me a raise, I’ll think about it.”
Luo Qiu ignored her. He turned his gaze toward the “earthworm-like” things that appeared above the pond—what Nero had just referred to.
To be precise, what appeared above the pond was a massive, unfurled landscape painting.
“Boss, you still haven’t told me what those twelve wormy things are!”
“They are the twelve ancestral veins of the Divine Land,” Boss Luo said calmly. “I’m only telling you this now. If you ever get to go in again, remember not to mention this in front of Lady Long—it would be rude. Also, you should fix your clothes.”
“My clothes?” Nero froze.
She instinctively glanced down—her usually heavy maid outfit had been DIY-ed into a revealing short ensemble. “Why? The neckline’s already low enough. Isn’t a little tease good?”
As she spoke, she pulled the collar a bit lower. “Boss, don’t miss your chance~”
“What kind of chance?”
“Of course it’s—”
Something was wrong.
The taste of honey in Nero’s mouth should’ve excited her. Instead, it now felt like her tongue was stuck, clinging uncomfortably.
“What kind of chance, Miss Nero?”
That sweet voice came from behind her.
“I—I meant…” Nero instantly flung the honeycomb into the pond and jumped to her feet. “I meant the scenery! The scenery’s not bad! Ah, Miss You Ye, you’re here! We were just talking about you!”
“Oh? What were you saying about me?” Miss Maid smiled slightly.
Nero had the sudden vision of countless vengeful spirits looming behind the Grand Overseer… A flash of inspiration hit her, and she found a way to wriggle out of trouble.
“Boss said variety is the spice of life! He thought Miss You Ye might try dressing like me—it would look amazing!”
Miss Maid paused, then looked at Luo Qiu. “Master?”
Behind her, Miss Nero pressed her palms together and bowed her head toward Boss, begging silently.
Luo Qiu smiled faintly. “Would you?”
“…Alright.” Miss Maid slightly parted her lips, then nodded.
She gently lifted the hem of her long skirt and began to spin slowly… The dress shrank, revealing her fair calves, which were then wrapped in silky black stockings. At the knees, white lace trim completed the look.
Her skirt lifted slightly, with a layer of thin lace added—revealing just a bit of her thighs.
Her sleeves shortened and narrowed, ending three fingers above the elbow.
Her collar dipped lower than usual, and a black silk ribbon was now tied around her neck… She completed the transformation.
Miss Maid spoke softly, “Master, is this acceptable?”
“Come,” Luo Qiu said gently, extending his hand.
Miss Maid placed her hand lightly in his. Where their palms met, a brilliant glow shimmered like a rainbow.
“So bright!” Miss Nero stepped back, shielding her eyes.
“I’ll leave this to you,” said Luo Qiu.
“Understood,” Miss Maid replied.
…
By the time Nero adjusted to the dazzling light, Boss had already vanished.
Only Miss Maid remained, holding a glowing orb the size of a basketball.
“Huh? What’s that?” Nero asked curiously.
Boss hadn’t taken her along—meaning she wasn’t needed at the moment.
Miss Maid smiled slightly. “Rather than that, Miss Nero, I have something to ask you.”
“Okay… What is it?” Nero’s heart skipped a beat. She suddenly felt something strange.
“Miss Nero, you were once a Divine General of Micheal’s Society. You must have carried out many missions, correct?” Miss Maid remained elegant as ever.
“Yeah, I guess. Mostly operated around Europe, sometimes North America. Rarely came this far east.”
“Then you must’ve learned quite a few languages, right? For convenience during missions,” Miss Maid continued gracefully.
Nero shrugged. “Not that many. Twenty-seven, I guess. I was lazy—worst at academics among the Divine Generals.”
“I see,” Miss Maid smiled. “Then, to help Miss Nero better fulfill her maid duties and understand the rules, please copy the maid code in all twenty-seven languages. Just 10,000 times each.”
Still elegant.
Nero’s mouth fell open.
Crap… so this is what a heart attack feels like!
