Chapter 1141: Spent a Fortune

Chapter 1141: Spent a Fortune

Faced with everyone's eyes, Cang Jinshui had no choice but to grit his teeth and step forward.

The current head of the Azure Dragon clan instantly put on a fierce expression. “Hmph! Who are you, daring to impersonate my father?! Has the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart run out of tricks that you’ve resorted to this kind of low tactic?”

Though Cang Jinshui's voice wasn't particularly loud, it clearly reached the ears of everyone present. Behind him, many Demon generals and high-ranking Demon clan members began to respond.

Indeed, the 71st generation of Heavenly Heart was infamous for their cunning and ruthlessness. They even dared to create the Million Soul Orb—there was nothing they wouldn’t stoop to. Having someone impersonate a former Azure Dragon patriarch to shake their morale? Seemed entirely plausible.

But was it really as Cang Jinshui claimed? At least Qu Xinghe had doubts—he had noticed Cang Jinshui's expression shift multiple times before he spoke.

“You unfilial child, you dare call me a fake?” Cang Yuntian glared with fury.

Cang Jinshui trembled inside but had no choice but to keep playing along. “My father is in secluded life-or-death cultivation at the Azure Dragon Holy Land. I even paid respects to him before the Penglai Grand Gathering. You are definitely an impostor!”

Cang Yuntian roared. Regardless of whether he was real or fake, that overwhelming aura was absolutely not fake.

“Hahaha!! Cang Yuntian, looks like you really raised a good son. Doesn’t even acknowledge his own father!”

Just then, three more figures descended from the sky, landing beside Cang Yuntian.Cang Yuntian snorted coldly, “This unfilial son dares not recognize me, and these other juniors surely won’t recognize you either! Are their minds so hard to read?”

As soon as he finished speaking, the three bronze-masked men took off their masks—causing shockwaves among the Management Bureau team. Qu Xinghe, Ming Tushan, and the acting commander replacing Huang Baifu of the White Tiger clan were visibly shaken.

These three were actually senior figures from their own Four Celestial Spirits clans!

“Today is really lively. So many old fossils showed up.” Firecloud Evil God laughed loudly as he looked at the one-armed man on the sacrificial platform. “Are these the opponents you arranged for me? I just hope they don’t fall apart too easily!”

“Shut up, old Firecloud! If you're looking for a sparring partner, Grandpa Tiger will keep you company!” came a booming roar of a tiger!

An elderly man with white hair and beard at Cang Yuntian’s side suddenly leapt forward and clashed fists with Firecloud Evil God, shaking the entire sacrificial platform.

“Blind, you take two, I take two. This isn’t a duel—it’s a brawl!” Firecloud Evil God launched into the air again. “Xiaoxi! Daoist Baijie! Everyone else! Flatten this place—whoever resists, kill them without mercy!! Hear me clearly: no mercy!!”

A wave of killing intent instantly engulfed the summit of Mount Tai.

His shout of "no mercy" echoed like thunder in the ears of the current heads of the Four Celestial Spirits clans—clearly a warning to them.

Soaring through the sky, Firecloud Evil God pulled out a massive tiger-bone saber. “Whether you're really from the White Tiger clan or not, this Tiger Soul Blade is just right for you!”

A barrage of blade shadows descended upon the white-haired elder, with a hidden ancient sword among them shooting straight toward Cang Yuntian.

Cang Yuntian, the white-haired elder, and two other giant Demons attacked together, engaging Firecloud Evil God and the hidden Mr. Blind.

Elsewhere, under Firecloud Evil God's command, Yan Xiaoxi quickly rallied everyone and charged toward the one-armed man standing atop the monument.

“Clan Leader Cang, Priest Qu, everyone—lend me your strength!”

“Of course!” Cang Jinshui took a deep breath and nodded.

Now… it was time to truly choose sides!

“Kill!!!”

No one knew who shouted first, but instantly, several—dozens—of figures charged at the one-armed man by the monument.

Yet, the one-armed man remained calm. Facing the incoming onslaught, he simply raised his arm. “Defend the Investiture and Sacrifice Ritual Platform at all costs!”

At that instant, ripples surged behind him, and dozens of black-clad warriors leapt out. They passed by the one-armed man and charged at the combined Daoist, Demon, and Management Bureau forces.

A massive melee broke out at the summit of Mount Tai!

Despite the fierce battle, the coalition forces had the advantage in numbers. The black-clad warriors began to falter. Seeing this, the one-armed man sighed softly.

“They’re already past their prime… just being able to do this much is commendable.” He looked around at the battlefield and whispered, “It’s time for you all to enter as well.”

With his words, a massive pillar of white energy surged into the sky from Mount Tai’s peak.

From within this blazing aura, thirty-six silver-armored warriors joined the fray! They wore silver battle armor and helmets, each wielding a golden spear.

These thirty-six warriors were like an elite army. Under the terrifying white flame and coordinated formation, each strike killed a Daoist or Demon outright.

“These thirty-six warriors… like an army of thousands, and they're all martial artists? That must be… Xuanyuan Palace!?”

Locked in combat with two giant Demons, Firecloud Evil God glanced at them and immediately recalled Gongsun Shiyu, who had blocked him during the sixth Jade Dragon Pillar battle. He realized now—the Xuanyuan Palace was also behind the Heavenly Heart’s plan to restore spiritual energy!

“Chief Yan, they're using a formation—you can’t brute-force it. Aim for the formation anchors to break it!!” Mr. Blind’s voice rang out. “The Thirty-Six Heavenly Spirits… First hit Heavenly Sorrow, then Heavenly Abundance, and then Heavenly Wisdom!”

Following his instructions, Yan Xiaoxi quickly commanded the forces to target the Heavenly Sorrow star position within the formation!

“Hmph, so there’s an expert among you… but do you think this formation only has one configuration?” The one-armed man on the stone platform sneered. He waved a battle flag. “Formation shift—Heavenly Spirits Soaring Birds!”

The thirty-six silver-armored generals restructured their formation—and immediately regained the upper hand!

The coalition forces, though composed of capable and powerful individuals, were mostly used to fighting solo and had no prior training in joint combat. In the chaos, they struggled to unleash even seventy percent of their full strength—mainly out of fear that their big moves would cause friendly fire.

The battle raged on.

Atop Mount Tai, demonic energy and spiritual power swirled and churned, stirring up wind and clouds. Though night had fallen, the chaos couldn’t be concealed. If not for the fact that the surrounding area had become a dead zone, no excuse like “some fellow Daoist is undergoing tribulation” would suffice.

And a pair of deep crimson eyes silently observed it all.

A small figure—Su Zijun.

---

Beside Su Zijun stood Kui Qianyi… Gui Ying had been left behind at the villa to watch over a certain trapped True Dragon.

Kui Qianyi looked grim and sighed. “I didn’t expect Gongsun Shiyu to deploy the Thirty-Six Heavenly Spirits. At first, I thought he just called in some hot-headed youth from the Qian Department.”

“Hmph, Thirty-Six Heavenly Spirits. Each with mystic silver armor and a golden flood dragon spear. Probably took enhancement pills too… Very impressive.” Su Zijun sneered. “Since when could some kid from the Qian Department mobilize them?”

“Princess, Gongsun Shiyu is different,” Kui Qianyi said with a sigh. “He also carries the blood of His Majesty the Yellow Emperor. He’s the pride of the Gongsun clan… and he’s still technically your fiancé.”

“Is that my fault?” Su Zijun glared fiercely at him.

Kui Qianyi drooped his shoulders. “Well… no. But the Thirty-Six Heavenly Spirits only obey those of Xuanyuan blood. If you gave the order, they would definitely back off. So… maybe?”

“Back off for what?” Su Zijun sneered. “Let them fight! Fight till they’re exhausted, or dead, even better! I’m actually hoping this 71st generation of Heavenly Heart succeeds in reviving spiritual energy. I paid a lot to ensure the success of this revival!”

“Princess, you…” Kui Qianyi suddenly realized something. His face changed drastically. “Don’t tell me…”

“When the time comes, I’ll have reason to act,” Su Zijun said calmly. “This Godslayer Sword has been howling in my body for ages—it’s about time it had a proper blood offering.”

“There’ll be rivers of blood…” Kui Qianyi turned pale.

Su Zijun snorted. “What do you know? It’s like a period—if you don’t get rid of the bad blood, your body won’t feel right. I haven’t had a Red Dragon visit in hundreds of years. Time to detox!”

“Your image! Your image!”

“In front of you, an old turtle, why should I care about image?” Su Zijun lifted her leg and kicked Kui Qianyi down. “Get to work. Stop slacking!”

---

In the fog…

“Honored One… I suddenly have a bad feeling,” a woman said, eyes on a wooden cabin.

Just then, the cabin’s door was flung open by a gust of wind, and a yellow-robed man stepped out.

His lips were stained with blood, and behind him, a faint figure could be seen lying motionless.

She quickly bowed her head. “Honored One, how do you feel?”

“Too thin-blooded,” the man said flatly. “Can’t compare with Song Haoran, but better than nothing. It bought me some time.”

Gong Fanxing quickly reported, “We searched all of Song Village. Only this one was still hiding in a cellar. The others have all likely been evacuated.”

“I can sense the direction they’re headed,” the man replied. “Don’t worry. As for your unease… I feel it too. As if something big is about to happen.”

“Seems to be coming from Mount Tai.”

“Investiture and Sacrifice Ritual Platform…” The man fell silent for a moment, then spoke firmly. “The priority is to find more descendants. World-shaking events are nothing new—don’t panic.”

“Yes…”

---

“Everyone hang in there. I know traveling by night is tough, but a little more and we’ll be out of this fog!”

Soldiers cheered the survivors on in the massive convoy.

Leng Feng had awoken at the edge of a massive crater. He had no idea what had happened.

Then a man named Bu Bugao appeared, claiming to be part of a special agency. He even said their team had nearly been wiped out.

Leng Feng didn’t fully trust Bu Bugao and remained on guard.

“Report: we couldn’t find the woman you mentioned—Miss Ren,” his adjutant whispered.

Leng Feng sighed, then forced himself to stay focused. When he woke up, he had resumed the burden of leading tens of thousands of people to safety.

“Hopefully… no more problems this time.” He glanced at Bu Bugao and a one-armed man who called himself Wang Hu.

At the front, Bu Bugao was calculating how much merit he’d earn after leading everyone out.

But Wang Hu suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked back, standing still.

“What’s wrong, bro? Did you notice something?” Bu Bugao panicked—he relied on Wang Hu for protection. “Don’t tell me… those suicidal freaks are still around?”

“Just got a feeling something’s happening over there…” Wang Hu frowned.

“You want to check it out?” Bu Bugao asked.

“No.” Wang Hu shook his head. “None of my business.”

“Oh… okay.” Bu Bugao shrugged, then put his arm around Wang Hu’s shoulder. “Say, bro, when we go public, should we get nicknames?”

“Nicknames?”

“Yeah! Gotta sound cool when making a name in the world. Names matter!”

“Don’t get it.” Wang Hu shook his head.

“Forget it. I’ll handle that stuff.” Bu Bugao patted his chest. “Don’t worry, I’ll arrange everything for you! We’ll share the glory and the rewards! I got it—we’ll be called Rising Yang Duo! You’re fierce and masculine, and I’m the rising star of the Management Bureau, like the morning sun!”

“…Oh.”

---

“Boss, why are we here? Weren’t we heading to the Investiture and Sacrifice Ritual Platform?”

Nero looked at the strange-looking villa in front of them—it looked like two-thirds of it had been smashed, leaving behind a lonely, half-demolished ruin.

“This is the job site.” Luo Qiu smiled. “The client’s commission starts here.”

Even though it looked like a condemned building, Boss Luo still politely walked to the one intact door and knocked.

“Coming, coming!”

Footsteps followed, then the door swung open.

A pair of big, watery eyes widened even more when they saw Luo Qiu. “Bo—Boss!”

It was… Luo Pianxian.

CRACK—!
