Chapter 1120: Daughter

Chapter 1120: Daughter

Not long after, Mo Xiaofei woke up again.

Windchaser was naturally overjoyed. During this time, he had nearly worried himself to death. Now that Mo Xiaofei had recovered, he was immensely grateful.

“Big Brother, what exactly happened to you?”

“Do you still remember why I came to Mount Tai?” Mo Xiaofei looked at Windchaser—though he had been trapped within his own body recently, he hadn’t lost awareness of the outside world.

This entire experience felt almost unreal to Mo Xiaofei—like he was just a bystander, watching his own body and “that person” go through everything. He was truly grateful to Windchaser, who had stayed by his side and even helped communicate with his distant parents.

“Yeah, you said you needed to find the successor of the Plain-Clothed Dao and uncover the mystery of your past life,” Windchaser said quickly.

“He… he is my past life,” Mo Xiaofei said faintly.

Windchaser was stunned, eyes widening. “Past life? Wasn’t that a vengeful ghost possessing you?”

As a Demon, he at least knew the basics—past lives were usually more like memories from another lifetime… but that ‘Mo Xiaofei’ clearly felt like a different person!

“It’s absolutely true.” Mo Xiaofei shook his head with a wry smile. “Though I don’t really understand it either… he really is my past life. And his background is so big, I can’t even begin to grasp it.”As he spoke, Mo Xiaofei slowly stood up and waved his hand. A nearby boulder weighing over a thousand kilograms suddenly lifted from the ground and floated gently, spinning in the air like a bird.

“Even…” Mo Xiaofei muttered, “that Boss… back then, when he gave me this endless potential… maybe he already knew…”

Boss.

Both Mo Xiaofei and Windchaser had encountered him—it was a shared secret between the two, something they rarely ever discussed.

“Big Brother.” Windchaser took a deep breath, patted Mo Xiaofei on the shoulder, and said seriously, “Past life or current life, you’re my Big Brother. For life! If it’s not for life—if it’s short even by a year, a month, or an hour—it doesn’t count!”

Mo Xiaofei was touched… but that line sounded oddly familiar…

Something didn’t feel quite right…

Why was he suddenly getting goosebumps?

Mo Xiaofei shook his head hard. The mystery of his past life was too significant, and he had no experience dealing with something like this. Not only had he not found the successor of the Plain-Clothed Dao, but now it seemed he had fallen into even more danger.

For now, dealing with the tens of thousands of unconscious people lying around was already a major headache.

“Let’s save people first.” Mo Xiaofei took a deep breath. “We can’t just leave them. But man, there are so many…”

Seeing Mo Xiaofei roll up his sleeves with renewed determination, Windchaser smiled… No matter how difficult it was, once Mo Xiaofei decided to save someone, he’d never hesitate.

That was the Mo Xiaofei he knew.

“Big Brother, I’ll help you!” Windchaser caught up behind him.

“Start by waking up the police and the soldiers,” Mo Xiaofei said quickly. “Don’t mention what happened, though—we don’t want to cause panic. Just say we don’t know anything… and be sure to call them ‘uncle police’ and ‘uncle soldier’!”

“Got it!!”

Meanwhile…

Gongsun Zhishui was forced to stop… the Gongsun Shiyu he carried on his back was already at death’s door.

Just as that mysterious and powerful youth had said, Gongsun Shiyu’s life force had been completely severed. All his meridians were broken, his bones shattered, and his qi sea was in ruins.

Even if he could somehow be saved, Gongsun Shiyu would be nothing but a cripple.

“I… hate…”

Gongsun Zhishui gently laid Gongsun Shiyu down, saying nothing as he looked at his lifeless eyes. Gongsun Shiyu was still trying—desperately trying—to say something.

But right now, even moving his lips was like scaling a mountain.

“Don’t worry. I’ll take you back to Xuanyuan Palace,” Gongsun Zhishui said calmly… He had always been calm.

He had followed Gongsun Shiyu since childhood, quiet and obedient, always supporting him.

But now, Gongsun Shiyu stared wide-eyed at Zhishui, his expression one of utter despair that could shake even the coldest heart… Gongsun Zhishui took a deep breath, then suddenly placed his palm on Gongsun Shiyu’s chest.

He whispered, “Is this… the end?”

But at that moment, Gongsun Zhishui’s brows furrowed in shock—because a violent, sinister, and chaotic aura suddenly erupted from Gongsun Shiyu’s body!

Blood-red, tinged with ink-like darkness… a thick red-black mist slowly spread from Gongsun Shiyu’s body until it fully enveloped him!

Gongsun Zhishui was instantly horrified!

Gongsun Shiyu slowly stood up. Wrapped in thick red-black mist, his mouth split wide—so wide it reached his ears. His eyes also cracked open, and on his forehead… a large, upside-down eye that didn’t resemble anything human appeared!

“You…” Gongsun Zhishui immediately raised his guard.

The figure in front of him cocked his head at a strange angle and looked at Zhishui with an eerie expression. “Zhishui, what are you trying to do?”

It wasn’t just Gongsun Shiyu’s voice… another sharp voice was mixed in!

“You’re not Shiyu… what are you?!”

“Me?” ‘Gongsun Shiyu’ grinned wickedly, baring his bloody mouth. “I am Gongsun Shiyu! Gongsun Shiyu is me! Don’t you recognize me, Zhishui?”

Without hesitation, Gongsun Zhishui launched a palm strike. But to his shock, a terrifying force erupted from ‘Gongsun Shiyu’s’ body and sent him flying with a single sweep—he coughed up blood from the blow.

Gongsun Shiyu’s body had all but collapsed—there’s no way he could have this much power! Gongsun Zhishui quickly analyzed the situation and tried to flee without hesitation.

But ‘Gongsun Shiyu’ reached out and grabbed him with a single hand. “You seem to have something nice on you, Zhishui. Shouldn’t you give it to me? I am your master, after all.”

‘Gongsun Shiyu’ slammed his palm into Zhishui’s chest.

Zhishui was once again sent sprawling—and in ‘Gongsun Shiyu’s’ palm, a blood-red orb had appeared!

Holding the orb between his fingers and examining it, ‘Gongsun Shiyu’ let out a sinister laugh. “The Soul Orb. You snatched it in the chaos, huh? What were you planning to do with it?”

“What are you?!” Gongsun Zhishui roared.

But ‘Gongsun Shiyu’ directly swallowed the orb. Instantly, the thick aura around his body became even denser. A massive surge of life force erupted from within him.

That surging vitality flooded into his body—soon, the demonized Gongsun Shiyu stood before Gongsun Zhishui, face full of malevolence.

“Soul Orb… what a lovely item.” The twisted Gongsun Shiyu chuckled softly. “And now, the Million Soul Orb… I’ll take that too.”

At that moment, Gongsun Zhishui suddenly swung his hand to slash at Gongsun Shiyu’s leg.

Hmph!

Gongsun Shiyu snorted coldly, formed a sword-finger, and swept across. A flash of dark red sword light slashed out—Gongsun Zhishui’s left arm was instantly severed!

Gongsun Zhishui let out a miserable scream, veins bulging across his face as he clutched his severed arm tightly.

“If you don’t want to die, then become my lapdog from now on,” Gongsun Shiyu sneered. “Someone from the Gongsun Clan of Xuanyuan Palace is still better than an ant!”

He strode into the thick mist without even looking back. “Trash—keep up!”

Cold sweat poured down Gongsun Zhishui’s face. His heart was in turmoil, yet it was as if an irresistible will forced him to stand up despite the pain and follow the other’s footsteps.

From up ahead, the twisted Gongsun Shiyu’s eerie voice could be heard murmuring, “It’s about time… to settle the debts of the past. True Dragon… I’ve crawled back from the underworld…”

——

Not long after, Long Xiruo had to pause again.

Continuously bleeding to form her constructed body was extremely exhausting. In the thick fog, the childlike Long Xiruo sat cross-legged by a small creek.

But suddenly, her heart skipped a beat. Startled, she instantly opened her eyes and looked in a specific direction.

From that place, a mighty, awe-inspiring aura surged into the sky—one that looked down upon all beings!

“Emperor's Sword?!”

Full of disbelief, she sprang up, her face solemn. “The Emperor's Sword… why would it appear now? It shouldn’t—No! If the Emperor's Sword has emerged, then Zijun…”

She shook her head, holding the spirit pearl. Her constructed body wrapped around her and transformed into golden light that shot into the sky!

——

After the battle at the sinkhole, when Long Xiruo—angrily driven off by the madness of both Daoist and Demon factions—left to cool down, Su Zijun returned to one of Xuanyuan Palace’s villas with Jessica.

Old turtle Kui Qianyi and Gui Ying had arrived earlier. Kui Qianyi was busy brewing medicine to replenish Long Xiruo’s energy and treating the heavily injured Little Butterfly Demon, Luo Pianxian, who had been released from the Tower of Ten Thousand Ghosts. He was also tending to the last patient, City Lord of Fengdu, Xiao Shengmo—completely overwhelmed.

After checking that Luo Pianxian’s condition had stabilized, Su Zijun bit her wrist and let her drink a few drops of blood. The Little Butterfly Demon’s aura began to recover, though it would still take time for her to wake.

Xiao Shengmo wasn’t as lucky—he could only rely on absorbing ghostly qi from the Tower of Ten Thousand Ghosts to heal himself.

Though a thick fog still blanketed the outside, inside the villa, there was finally a sense of peace—at least, Jessica thought so.

Exhausted, she finally managed to get some rest—but suddenly, the sound of something breaking came from the room where Su Zijun was staying.

Jessica was startled and rushed over, bursting through the door—only to be shocked. “Master!”

Su Zijun was hugging herself, trembling all over, kneeling on the floor. Her fangs had already emerged uncontrollably, her eyes had turned blood red, and her pale face was twisted in pain.

She was clearly enduring unbearable torment!

“Master!” Jessica hurried to her side.

But Su Zijun suddenly lashed out like a madwoman, slamming a palm into Jessica’s chest. The force caved in the tall foreign woman’s chest.

Jessica coughed up a mouthful of blood and flew backward, crashing through walls and landing in another room. If she weren’t non-human, that strike would’ve killed her—but even so, she was gravely injured.

“Princess!” “Big Sis!”

Hearing the noise, Kui Qianyi and Gui Ying rushed over. Seeing Su Zijun in such a frenzied state, both were horrified. But before they could react, Su Zijun exploded with overwhelming demonic energy, blowing apart the entire villa!

“Don’t worry about me!! Get everyone out!!” Su Zijun shouted with all her might in her madness.

Kui Qianyi and Gui Ying were shocked—but just then, a beam of golden light descended from the sky through the fog. A giant dragon’s shadow coiled above the villa.

“It’s Lord Long!”

High in the sky, Long Xiruo didn’t waste time. She shot down as golden light—her constructed body radiating power—and pressed her palm against Su Zijun’s forehead, calming her frenzy.

“Old hag… you…”

“You brat! I told you not to fall into the path of a dry jiangshi, and you wouldn’t listen! Now look what happened!” Long Xiruo shouted anxiously. “Do you think the Godslayer Sword is so easy to suppress?! Stop talking—focus all your strength on suppressing the chaos inside! I can’t hold on for long!”

Su Zijun gritted her teeth but obeyed, closing her eyes.

The True Dragon of Divine Land exerted her full strength. Su Zijun’s raging demonic energy gradually calmed, and her demonized form slowly faded.

The constructed body could only last about five minutes max, and the stronger the power used, the shorter the duration. At this point, Long Xiruo had pushed it to the limit—barely lasting more than a minute before the body disintegrated.

But Su Zijun could now rely on her own strength to suppress the turmoil within.

Only then did Long Xiruo breathe a sigh of relief, returning to her childlike form. She subconsciously glanced at Kui Qianyi’s spiritual pearl—at some point, a fine crack had appeared on its surface.

Kui Qianyi, who had just rushed over, noticed the pearl as well—after all, the turtle pearl had been with him since birth.

Long Xiruo gave him a small shake of the head.

Kui Qianyi could only sigh. He walked over to Su Zijun and asked with concern, “How is the Princess?”

“The Emperor's Sword appeared. It resonated with the Godslayer inside her and caused her to lose control,” Long Xiruo said. “But the Emperor's Sword only surfaced briefly—its presence vanished right after. She should be fine for now.”

“Emperor's Sword?!” Kui Qianyi was stunned. “Didn’t that imperial sword disappear with the fall of the Great Qin Empire… for two thousand years… how could it reappear now?!”

“How should I know?!” Long Xiruo snapped irritably. “I’m just Long Xiruo, not Long Almighty! Stop asking me everything!!”

Kui Qianyi sighed and, after a pause, turned to Gui Ying. “Gui Ying, take Miss Jessica to get treated. Leave this to me and Lord Long. Tell City Lord Xiao as well—there’s no immediate danger.”

In other words—no one else should come and disturb them.

Though reluctant, Gui Ying helped Jessica to the intact part of the villa.

Though Long Xiruo looked like a child again, she still closely monitored Su Zijun, clutching the turtle pearl tightly.

“You all… shouldn’t have let her be born,” Long Xiruo murmured.

Kui Qianyi was silent. He turned away and whispered, “First Princess… you became the True Dragon and broke free from Xuanyuan’s fate. But now, you’re caught in a different destiny. Yet for Xuanyuan Palace, the Human Emperor’s legacy… cannot be severed.”

Long Xiruo glared at him, her face full of fury. She said through gritted teeth, “She’s my daughter!!”
